You can jump on the box in Split mid

    Posted: 15 Aug 2020 08:55 AM PDT

This can get you over Sage walls and stuff

It took me about 2 minutes of trying. All you have to do it crouch jump on the little ledge next to the stairs. This seems like it could be really useful and easy with practice

moving while shooting punishment should be increased?!

    Posted: 15 Aug 2020 06:59 AM PDT

During my time playing Valorant I often played against players that walk while they're shooting their ARs (Phantom, Vandal) and yet they get lucky(?) headshots. (NO stutter stepping!)

Since I'm from CS:GO I've always been told to stand still while firing ARs or at least shoot->walk->counterstrafe->shoot.

This makes it very frustrating to play against those players that just mindlessly strafe while holding down their fire button especially when they get those more or less random headshots.

I would really like to hear some other opinions on this topic since my friends and I agree this really sucks to play against as u don't get rewarded enough for standing still while shooting in comparision to walking while doing it.

Or should I just abandon my CS:GO knowledge of hundres of hours of playing and accept this is a different game with different rules?

The most chaotic unrated I've ever been in

Since the daily ultimate mission requires 5 uses, the weekly one should require 35

    Posted: 15 Aug 2020 11:12 AM PDT

That's it. I don't see a point in it requiring 50 when they think 5 per day is the right number for the daily mission

Valorant Footstep sounds need a rework and OP needs a scope sound.

    Posted: 14 Aug 2020 08:55 PM PDT

I really really enjoy Valorant but I think sound might be one of its weakest points. From my point of view, when functioning in an ideal way sound should be a powerful yet punishing mechanic for information.

Using spike defuse sound to fake out opponents can be powerful as can be intentionally making footsteps sounds on one site whilst the rest of the team goes to another. Furthermore successfully stalling on defence for long enough that running (and therefore audible footsteps) are necessary to get a spike plant is a good way to use sound to punish teams that are unable to use their utility effectively enough in the early parts of a round.

However, from my experience there is little if any sound drop off from footsteps next to a player and footsteps at the very edge of the audible range, and these footsteps are barely dampened by walls if at all. This provides a defender advantage that shouldn't exist to the extent it does. It is one thing to hold for retakes on a site, it is another to not have to always hold A sewer on Haven because footsteps can be completely identified from the opposite side of B site.

I think there should be some punishment, at least in the form of a reduced window to react, for not completely holding a given area of a map. To be clear I'm not advocating that the audible range of footsteps be drastically reduced, but there should definitely be a distance drop off and/or a dampening effect when obstacles and walls are between players. I think this would assist players with using sound to gauge depth. Directional sound has been a topic of debate since launch and I've always thought it was a depth issue. Being unable to use sound to gauge distance can leave players caught out thinking opponents are closer or further than they really are.

My second point, is a sound adjustment for the OP. It is widely agreed by the community that the OP meta is irritating, some like shroud have even said it shouldn't exist. Whilst I wouldn't go that far, I do believe the OP provides too much reward and too little punishment for bad positioning. I know people hate comparisons to CS, but in CS scoping in has an audible sound. If an AWP'er is late getting to an angle and scopes in they will be heard and utility can be used to ensure they cannot leverage their position to the fullest. Especially given the advantage to defenders by footsteps, as I've mentioned, OP'ers who frequently change position scope in and out, aren't being punished enough for their angle choice. They can change angles quickly and without punishment on defence.

TL:DR footsteps provide to much information at long and/or obstructed range whilst not providing enough information about the distance of player. The OP needs a scope sound to counter it's ease of use.

Why do people get upset when a girl play better than them?

    Posted: 15 Aug 2020 01:28 PM PDT

I was playing an unrated, and I was top fragging, and this guy was so salty about me being the top frag. He kept saying that a girl shouldn't be playing this game. Then other people in the team were salty. We were winning and he just kept being salty the whole game without a reason. Does it feel that bad to admit that girls can play games better than guys?

Sage's viewmodel is taller than everyone else.

    Posted: 15 Aug 2020 11:44 AM PDT

Her ponytail increases her height and reveals her location in many scenarios. For example, boxes intended to cover the entirety of other player models do not cover Sage's ponytail. With the player outlines it's pretty easy to spot. This means Sage players are disadvantaged because in a situation where both players could be standing and mobile, Sage might be crouched because her location would be revealed otherwise. Countless times I've killed Sages through boxes and unbeknownst to them, their ponytails gave them away. In games where hitboxes are identical for the clarity of gameplay I think a detail like this should be adjusted.

    Example on Ascent.

    Example on Ascent.

    Example on Split.

The images shown do not do this issue justice. Depending on angle, positioning of both players, monitor resolution, video settings, she can be seen clearly. These are just examples of player height boxes, and these images do not cover all of them.

If you live in the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia) area and are experiencing ping problems, here's why.

    Posted: 15 Aug 2020 11:10 AM PDT

Apparently the DMV Servers are down/trash at the moment, and Texas servers have less ping than it, so VALORANT auto-selects Texas servers for you to play on.

    Edit:

    Northern VA Servers: 110ms ping
    Texas Servers: 60ms ping

Hero Stereotypes (based on what I've seen)

    Posted: 14 Aug 2020 04:41 PM PDT

Jett: Either a god or terrible, there is no in between

Phoenix: Not good, not bad either

Brimstone: Always takes the game too seriously but is a reliable teammate

Killjoy: Quiet players who may or may not know what they're doing

Sage: The best player on the enemy team if they don't have a Jett, they're also addicted to Operators and Odins

Raze: Seems to think this is a single player game

Reyna: Never communicates with anyone, somehow is 2nd best player on team

Omen: Thinks they're the team strategist and will get pissed if you don't follow their commands

Cypher: Also doesn't communicates but is still a huge team player

Breach: Breach players don't exist, and when they do they don't do much of anything

Sova: 90% of the time they have zero idea what they're doing, the other 10% they're a vision god

Viper: Randomly uses their abilities for no obvious reason, but are a pretty good shot to make up for it

Wouldn't it be cool if you could change the colors of the Prism line with radianite?

    Posted: 14 Aug 2020 05:50 PM PDT

    https://imgur.com/a/mpLWYhB

The skin itself is nice looking, but it would be cool to be able to change it up every once and a while. Or maybe an RGB slider would work better.

For those of you who paid for the prism line, would you spend radianite for different colors?

The ultra secret strat for better team play

    Posted: 14 Aug 2020 10:57 PM PDT

Give allies compliments on their kills and give them some encouragement when they're hesitating

Seriously I occasionally see people struggling under pressure in my games and giving them a few compliments on what they're doing or some encouragement really just helped mellow them out and they almost always play a bit better afterwards

Being nice to your fellow players can make a world of difference sometimes
