    VALORANT 2.09 Bug Megathread

    Posted: 11 May 2021 07:44 AM PDT

    Greetings Agents!

New patch, new Bug mega. To avoid bugs report cluttering the subreddit and/or going unnoticed we will get a single Megathread which will be posted today and after every patch so that you guys can report the various issues in one place. This allows Riot to easily keep track of the bugs by providing a central hub and also allows other users to confirm that they might have encountered.

Prerequisites to be noted before reporting a bug

    1. A bug will ideally be accompanied with a screenshot or a video. This provides credibility to your report.
    2. Steps to recreate the bugs should be submitted if possible. This helps Rioters recreate the bug and helps them find the cause behind it.

Format when reporting a bug: When reporting a bug, please provide as much information as you can about your computer.

Region: The region you're playing in when you encountered the bug

Type of Bug: Client Bug, In Game Bug, etc.

Description: Describe what was the bug that occurred.

Video / Screenshot: Insert screenshot (F12 in game) or Video of the bug occurring.

Steps to reproduce: Provide the steps necessary if someone else had to reproduce the bug.

Expected result: What should have been the result when you follow the steps mentioned above.

Observed result: What was the result you obtained when you followed the steps mentioned above?

Reproduction rate: If you try to recreate the bug how successful are you in causing it to occur? (1/10 : Occurs once every 10 tries, 5/10 : Occurs 5 times out of 10, 10/10 : Happens every single time)

System specs: Processor, Video card, Ram, HDD/SSD, everything you can provide, even drivers.

    Example Bug:

    Region: EU

    Type of Bug: Matchmaking

    Description: Matchmaking doesn't work properly

Insert Video / Screenshot of the incident

Reproduction rate: 10/10 (happened 10 out of 10 times)

Steps to reproduce: Try to launch a game

    Expected result: Match starting

Observed result: Getting stuck in infinite queue

System Specs: Intel i5 Processor, Windows 7, Nvidia Graphics card (insert model number) etc.

If you don't know how to format comments on Reddit click here

    - **Region:** - **Type of Bug:** - **Description:** - **Video / Screenshot:** - **Steps to reproduce:** - **Expected result:** - **Observed result:** - **Reproduction rate:** - **System specs:**

Copy paste the above code and fill in your details.

From this Megathread the list of bugs will not be summarized and put up in the main body of the thread, however note that many Rioters are going through every single comment so don't worry if you post the 1500th or 3000th comment, every reply will be read over the next few days.

The new game mode makes it very hard to report text abuse

    Posted: 14 May 2021 10:17 AM PDT

So, this just happened. We were playing against a team of 5 razes, and 4 of them did not have their names open to other players. So, there was one, possibly more, raze that was saying very degrading names towards someone on his team, and we could not know who to report because there were 4 guys named "Raze". Can anyone think of a way to find out who the player was?

If you have streamer mode on, and you type in chat while the randomizer is running, you can see which agent it's going to pick before the randomizer finishes. (look in chat)

Replication is the best mode Valorant has added

    Posted: 14 May 2021 08:17 AM PDT

Replication is personally my favorite mode that they've added to the game. Not because of the game mode itself but because it has lead my two queue partners to be forced to play agents other than Reyna and Raze, and they've realized how fun all the other characters are. So thank you dev team from all of us that have struggled with friends that only insta lock duelists

In Replication, you can sell your util for extra money. Including being able to get a stinger + light shield on pistol round.

Comparing the first shot accuracy of the phantom and the vandal.

    Posted: 14 May 2021 03:24 AM PDT

I saw a clip of Asuna comparing the first shot spread of the phantom and the vandal, saying that the vandal's difference of 0.05 fss makes your crosshair placement irrelevant. "The vandal misses, it's not even accurate on the first bullet. That's why no one uses this gun. You can aim at the head and you will not kill people, because your crosshair placement is irrelevant with that gun." (The clip in question: https://youtu.be/oeZDbL6tMIg)

So i did some testing, comparing the first shot accuracy of both guns at 5, 10, 20, 30 and 50 meters. Here are the results:

    5 meters: https://imgur.com/a/gafZtNu
At 5 meters the difference is negligible. Both guns will one shot head shot at this range.

    10 meters: https://imgur.com/a/2iLXcuJ
At 10 meters the difference is still negligible. Both guns still one shot head shot.

    20 meters: https://imgur.com/a/0md2YIg
At 20 meters we start to see a very slight difference. While still miniscule, you might miss with the vandal if you are aiming at the very edge of the head and get unlucky. Of course the same thing may happen with the phantom, but at much, much lower rates. Keep in mind however that the phantom will not kill in one headshot at this range, so the vandal rewards good accuracy with a lower time to kill, whereas the phantom allows you to be a bit more inaccurate with the drawback of a higher time to kill.

    30 meters: https://imgur.com/a/oIjD5KX
At 30 meters the difference is a bit more apparent. Same thing as 20 meters, you might miss a shot with the vandal if you're not aiming right between the eyes.

    50 meters: https://imgur.com/a/WUybjfW
At this range the phantom is the clear winner, though you usually won't fight this far apart, in my opinion the consistency of the phantom beats the one shot of the vandal. It's more of a "will the vandal user get lucky enough" scenario if both players fire at the same time.

Conclusion: At standard fighting ranges the difference is small enough to pretty much not matter, it really just depends on what you prefer to play with.

Warmup DM is more enjoyable than the DM itself, all because of death timers.

    Posted: 14 May 2021 01:46 PM PDT

Its crazy how instant respawn makes those 30 seconds more fun, at least for me. I think it could be a nice change for this gamemode, makes it faster and reduces the tilt in my opinion.

Maybe it would make it more chaotic, but I'm fine with that, what's the worst thing that could happen? Everybody runing and gunning with the Judge? The mode is meant to be casual not hardcore, so it doesn't makes sense to be punished for being reckless.

3 seconds is not much, but when you die again and again it adds up and it gets boring and kind of tilting when you keep dying because someone shoots you from behind. I like the gamemode, I play once or twice before some rankeds and I enjoy it, but still think the death timer is unnecessary.

How do you become a more confident player?

    Posted: 14 May 2021 09:44 AM PDT

I have ranked anxiety. I am good in unrated and deathmatch but when I get a bad pistol round or my teammate says something toxic to me, I second guess everything I do and don't play aggressively as I normally do. I want to fix this problem because it happens to me in sports and other games too. I'm sick of it. I want to learn how to be more confident.

Riot Lore: The Skin Design team are diehard T1/TSM fans

    Posted: 14 May 2021 09:16 AM PDT

Right after beta, teams like T1 and TSM were dominating the scene. Just like how we got super hot fiya skins like the Prime collection, the Oni, the Sovereign and the Reaver collection... Gun designs were really showing us that there was a lot of potential. Even the gun collection design like the Elderflame, which had a lot of mixed opinions about were highly detailed and unique from other sets. We even got some other cool interestingly themed gun collections like Singularity and Ion...

But something happened in the months of late 2020...

T1 and TSM started failing to qualify... a new generation of teams were resurfacing, restructuring and the hierarchy within the pro scene shifted.. and this sucked out the souls of the design team, leaving them inspiration-less and devoid of creativity.

A distraught design team with a broken heart led to the beginning of the end of quality gun skins with the beginning of it all... Nebula collection.. which initially seemed like interesting idea spiralled into a depressive creative slump. "They just cut brax and AZK... i know we're all emotionally grieiving... let's just make this every skin from now on until they can recover" the lead designer. Birthing us winter wonderland, horizon...

First came the denial. You see that with the release of the Valorant GO collection which was yet another green screen gun but heavily marketed with interviews, excessive gun buddies and player cards.

Then came anger.. "we don't just do green screens skins!! Give them a rehashed skin collection... prime Odin!!!!!"

Then came bargaining.. "we'll give them another re-hashed skin collection... Sovereign AND reaver in one bundle but we'll give it a pristine kill animation.. but we gotta balance it out by making it only available in moldy green"

Then depression: "T1 and TSM did make it to Iceland... Let's just go back and make another green screen gun.."

And finally acceptance: "we're too sad to make new designs. Let's just keep recycling green screen skins and 2.0's of previous skin collections because just like the movie industry, people will still pay to see the Spiderman Origin story 9 more times and they keep buying it anyway, so let's apply this logic of comfort buying to our skins.

Then TSM released Tailor and Cutler... "Also the Matte Black collection received a lot of positive feedback on April Fool's, let's make it a real thing but relabel it as "minimal" and charge $40 for it"

So this is where we're at. The mere devastation of the morale of the design team because T1 and TSM arent performing like they used to.

I think if Chet and Brax are the necessary changes to TSM, and bringing Ans into T1 actually bring glory back to these two teams.. maybe the valorant design team will just stop recoloring old skin collections and rereleasing green screen skins.

Chet, the future of valorant gun skins in your hands... What are you going to do with all this pressure? The design team really went down bad to Yoru tier, but will they come back to lineup-Sova tier?

Suggestion: Maybe add a "Drop me the Spike" voiceline for each agent?

    Posted: 14 May 2021 02:39 PM PDT

I usually play Smokes/Sentinels and often times I want to be the one carrying the bomb instead of my duelists who accidently pick it up. I've had to comm to my teammates a lot of times to drop me the bomb and I think that this would be a good addition to have for those that don't have voice comms/voice chat enabled. It's a small QOL addition.

Valorant maps location in real life

    Posted: 14 May 2021 03:14 AM PDT

I assume that most people don't take notice of the string of numbers on every map's loading screen. The more astute among us may have realized that they are, in fact, coordinates. As it turns out, each map location translates to a real world place, most of which really make sense given the map design.

Split, for example, is located in Tokyo, Japan according to its coordinates. This makes sense given the map's architecture and signage.

Interestingly, Haven is located in Bhutan, a nation in Southeast Asia. Bhutan has a large Buddhist population so it makes sense that the map would be a zen garden.

Unsurprisingly, the Range and Ascent are both located near Venice, Italy. Their architecture makes that obvious. We can assume that some kind of cataclysmic non-Euclidian event decimated the city, leaving huge chucks of it suspended in mid-air.

Lastly, we have Bind. It's located near Tunisia, which makes sense given the architecture and surrounding desert. We can safely assume that it's some kind of Radianite processing facility.

Why do people deny “magic players” existing in low ELO?

    Posted: 14 May 2021 07:42 AM PDT

To preface, I'm a Plat II peak player. I maintained my rank through most of Act I just fine. Some wins, some losses here and there but for the most part I felt plat was equal parts fair and challenging.

Since Act I I have deranked from Plat to Gold, then Gold to Iron II after a short break, then ranking up from Iron II to Gold, only to fall back down to Iron II again and climb to where I am now.

Over the course of playing this game I've experienced:

    1. Five red screens.
    2. Countless wall bang one tap headshots.
    3. 180 degree headshot spray transfers.
    4. Three different Reyna teammates who I've observed & could see blatant "magic gameplay" through spectator cam.
    5. One instance of a spinbot. (Game not cancelled.)
    6. Two instances of invisible players defusing the spike. As in: the spike ring starts going up by itself and no one is beside it.
    7. A small number (haven't counted) of ESP sellers promoting their sources in chat.
    8. Two different teammates (both playing Omen) glitching below the map in Ascent to get free, uncounterable kills.
    9. And finally just now, two players on the enemy team glitching out of bounds on Breeze B to ensure we can only play on A, then four stacking on A. The Yoru and Breach would take turns switching between who abuses the bug and who plays with the rest of their team.

And countless other suspicious players who may simply be smurfing in low ELO.

I just don't understand how erratic the ranking system can be to allow me to rank up to Plat II, then fall all the way down to Iron II, and yo-yo me all over the ranked ladder. At some point, Riot need to address their anticheat system and implement kill cam & match replay features yesterday.

I know it's nigh impossible to post on this sub decrying magic players without being punished or drowned in a tsunami of "I'm X rank and I've never seen one single hacker in my whole career," but I thought I'd vent my frustrations and open a platform to hear other people's experiences. I do enjoy a good bout of feeling sorry for myself.

Experience: Reached GN2 on CSGO a while back when I was new to shooters, and quit for Overwatch, where I hit high Masters 4 times and normally play around high diamond/low masters.

Do yall really play on low sensitivity

    Posted: 14 May 2021 10:42 AM PDT

I've played the game for a week now. When I started playing with my friend he said that my sense was too high and I should lower it. Even when I google a good sense it says that it should be pretty low. My mouse is 800 dpi. I know I should use whatever sense I fell comfortable with but I'm wondering what sense do yall play on?
