    Posted: 09 Jul 2020 08:52 AM PDT

    Greetings Agents!

New patch, new Bug mega. To avoid bugs report cluttering the subreddit and/or going unnoticed we will get a single Megathread which will be posted today and after every patch so that you guys can report the various issues in one place. This allows Riot to easily keep track of the bugs by providing a central hub and also allows other users to confirm that they might have encountered.

    Patch notes 1.03

Prerequisites to be noted before reporting a bug

    1. A bug will ideally be accompanied with a screenshot or a video. This provides credibility to your report.
    2. Steps to recreate the bugs should be submitted if possible. This helps Rioters recreate the bug and helps them find the cause behind it.

Format when reporting a bug: When reporting a bug, please provide as much information as you can about your computer.

Region: The region you're playing in when you encountered the bug

Type of Bug: Client Bug, In Game Bug etc

Description: Describe what was the bug that occurred.

Video / Screenshot: Insert screenshot (F12 in game) or Video of the bug occurring.

Steps to reproduce: Provide the steps necessary if someone else had to reproduce the bug.

Expected result: What should have been the result when you follow the steps mentioned above.

Observed result: What was the result you obtained when you followed the steps mentioned above?

Reproduction rate: If you try to recreate the bug how successful are you in causing it to occur? (1/10 : Occurs once every 10 tries, 5/10 : Occurs 5 times out of 10, 10/10 : Happens every single time)

System specs: Processor, Video card, Ram, HDD/SSD, everything you can provide, even drivers.

    Example Bug:

    Region: EU

    Type of Bug: Matchmaking

    Description: Matchmaking doesn't work properly

    • Insert Video / Screenshot of the incident

Reproduction rate: 10/10 (happened 10 out of 10 times)

Steps to reproduce: Try to launch a game

    Expected result: Match starting

Observed result: Getting stuck in infinite queue

System Specs: Intel i5 Processor, Windows 7, Nvidia Graphics card (insert model number) etc.

If you don't know how to format comments on Reddit click here

    - **Region:** - **Type of Bug:** - **Description:** - **Video / Screenshot:** - **Steps to reproduce:** - **Expected result:** - **Observed result:** - **Reproduction rate:** - **System specs:**

Copy paste the above code and fill in your details.

From this Megathread the list of bugs will not be summarized and put up in the main body of the thread, however note that many Rioters are going through every single comment so don't worry if you post the 1500th or 3000th comment, every reply will be read over the next few days.

I know this may seem like nothing to 90% of you but yesterday, after more than 30 hours of playtime, I finally managed to get a positive KDA for the first time ever in Valorant. I am really, really bad at FPS and for me this felt like the biggest victory ever, like I just won a tournament. ^^

Let us equip different skins for Attack and Defense

    Posted: 09 Jul 2020 07:47 AM PDT

Basically the title. If I'm going to purchase multiple skins for the same weapon (especially melee) it would be awesome if I could use at least two of them ingame. Just like in csgo you can have different knives for T and CT.

Everything interesting added in V1.03 (Datamined content, including new agent sounds, FFA mode outline, and Dragon set showcase.)

    Posted: 09 Jul 2020 12:39 PM PDT

Since my last summary of the V1.02 update got a lot of attention, I decided I'll make these more often. That being said, here is a summary of interesting new files added in V1.03! Took over an hour to write, but here it is! Be sure to follow my twitter for more frequent and in-depth details,

Let's start off with agent news again.

Killjoy (an upcoming agent that is probably going to be added in Act 2) was updated with some pretty huge stuff!!!

    - Some lightning textures and effects were added, probably for Killjoy's abilities.

Here is a Lightning mesh added for Killjoy in 1.03

Here is a lightning texture added for Killjoy in 1.03.

    - HUGE: Some 1st person animations were added for Killjoy's Ult, this one is called "DetainedLoopUB"

A new animation added for Killjoys alt called \"DetainedStateLoop\". I'm using this anim on a model of phoenix since no model of Killjoy exists and I was to lazy to texture it.

    - HUGE: Audio for effects and sounds related to Killjoy have been added! Keep in mind some of these might be placeholders, but I am pretty sure most of these are the real deal.

Killjoy should have a place-able turret as an ability, and you can definitely hear some sounds for that!

NOTE: Sounds may be loud because they are raw from game files and not mixed the way you hear them in-game.

Here is audio relating to Killjoy and his effects. Enjoy, this audio is hard to decrypt!!!

    More agent news:

    - Joules received a file for an Ult animation. Joules was thought to be an abandoned agent, but they are probably still using her to test other future upcoming agents. I ported the anim into blender and found hardly anything, it's just 1st person pose, who knows why it was added.

    - Raze had a smoke texture updated to her grenades.

    - Cypher appeared to have his "E" ability updated, probably for bug-fixes.

    Moving on to Cosmetics:

The only cosmetic set added this update was the dragon set. This means there will be no new skins for daily item shop rotation. I don't know how much the Dragon bundle will cost, but I've heard it will be around 100$ for the whole set. I'm going to be doing a showcase of most of the set below.

NOTE: I've left out the frenzy and the Judge because I can only post 5 video's at a time. If you want to view these, I've posted them on my twitter, link at the start of the post.

Here is a showcase of the Dragon Knife at max level.

Here is a showcase of the Vandal at max level.

Here is a showcase of the Operator at max level. Ngl I think this one is pretty fire.

All 4 variants of the Frenzy.

All 4 variants of the Judge.

All 4 variants of the Vandal.

All 4 variants of the Operator.

In-Game store background texture for the dragon set.

Player card obtained after buying the Dragon set.

Spray included in the Dragon Bundle.

    Dragon Bundle Gun-Buddy

Kill-Emblem included with the Dragon Bundle

    Game-mode Updates:

    • A new orb has been added to spike rush, within the files it's called "SpookyGhosts".
      • Description of Orb: "Summons 2 hunting wolves that chase down the 2 nearest enemies, and near-sighting them when caught."
      • How do you feel about this mechanic? I'm pretty interested what these things will look like.
    • HUGE: It looks like Riot is laying the outline for a FFA mode!!! Based on these .umap files, it looks like Riot is testing FFA on Ascent first, and the map will be updated as well.

These are .umap files, meaning that the FFA Ascent map and Normal Ascent map will somehow be different.

    Some pretty big Mechanic Updates:

    • Timeouts appear to have been added along with Surrenders. They have added strings and it appears the feature is pretty well built, but I don't know when it will go live.

Here are some Timeout strings added in 1.03

    • Left handed support is coming to Valorant! Players will soon be able to choose which hand their in-game agent holds the weapon in.

String's added that prove this feature is coming soon.

    • Voting strings for voting between a draw and overtime have also been added. Players will be able to vote to either draw, or battle out the match in OT.

    Voting strings

    • A new mechanic has been added, players who have been inactive for a while become unranked until they have played 1 game.

    Strings added for inactivity mechanic.

    • EDIT: Just recently found some more strings relating to Xbox support! Just a couple of icons added that I can't view obviously because I'm not on an Xbox, but cool to see development.

Just a couple of Xbox icons were added to .inis

That's about everything big added in 1.03! please comment below what you are interested in or how I could do better! I will attempt to port the entire Ascent FFA map into blender later (not easy to do at all, but I'll let you guys know if it happens.)

I spent over an hour writing this, not to mention I had to mine to get all of this information. Please consider following me on twitter for more details and frequent posts. https://twitter.com/ValorantExpress

Thank you for reading, I hope I've showed you something of interest! Stay safe everybody.

My brother and I were enjoying Valorant together.

    Posted: 09 Jul 2020 02:47 AM PDT

Hi guys - wanted to quickly share an experience and see if anyone has experienced anything similar. My brother and I have been playing Valorant every night since launch. He lives over a days drive away so it's the only way we get to spend time together.

Anyway the other night we were in a ranked game together I'm plat he's silver and he's just gotten back in to gaming but is cooperative and helpful in a team setting. From the very start of this game he was abused by our teammates (all plat) I explained that we played together, were within 6 ranks of eachother and asked if they could be calm and helpful. Normally we get a better spread of ranks in our games but not the case in this one.

Over the course of the game things got worse we ended up pulling the game to an 11 - 11 match despite the constant abuse he was getting. He bought myself and the other top frag guns because our econ was shot. We went 12-11

At this point it had become obvious our teammates were grouped and in discord or the like. We ended the game 12-13 and they abused the hell out of us for queueing together.

My brother, defeated tells me this morning he thinks he doesn't want to play anymore. I convince him it's an isolated incident and to hop on this evening so we can practice some more.

He hops on this evening to error 61 the ban code. He's obviously been group reported by this squad and as a result hit with this. I'm furious. We've submitted a ticket because his behavior should have in no way supported a ban like this he wasn't abusing in text or voice and was even afraid to talk in comms because he was being abused so heavily by our 3 team mates. This is not okay.

Let me know if you've experienced anything similar because I've never experienced anything like this in any game.

We should be able to pick up Cypher’s cages.

    Posted: 08 Jul 2020 06:57 PM PDT

i can't count how many times i've accidentally hit the button to throw cages during buy phase or at the beginning of matches. they should make it so that we can pick them up if we are close to them, like Viper's orb. thoughts?

Every Sage Orb lineup you'll ever need for Split, Haven and Ascent

    Posted: 09 Jul 2020 07:16 AM PDT

I was placed in iron2. Got immortal 2 today. Here's what I've learned about each rank.

    Posted: 09 Jul 2020 08:33 AM PDT

I played 100% solo. Mostly sage because I usually wait until everyone else locks and try to fill in what I think would be best for our comp on the specific map and 9 times out of 10 no one picks sage.

I actually dont mind playing sage. I think more people should play her. The best part about sage is that if you're at 50% and your teammate is at 50% guess who gets the heal? xD

You also get to be in a lot of clutch situations because you wont be the first running into a site.

CT side is a cakewalk. You can lock down whatever part of the map you play.

So here's what I learned from each rank..

Iron: everyone's fresh. Everyone is on default sens @ 16k dpi.

Bronze: pretty much the same except they learned how to change their crosshair color.

Silver: finally people figured out how to lower their sens.

Gold: learned how to lower their sens even more!

Plat: Likes to push everything. all aim no brain. bunch of ragers.

Diamond: Likes to push everything. you get a mixture of players with aim and players with brain.

    im1: no mic.

    im2: no mike.

edit: I'm obviously overly generalizing off my biased opinion so take this post with a grain of salt. xD

edit2: I want to share a video that will help you get better(not mine): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkHTr5bEuBk

the guy in the video is Rambo. A counterstrike legend. The stuff he goes over in that video is something I practiced for about an hour every day when I played 1.6. It was boring, but trust me, its one of the most important basics you need to learn. Just because its basic doesnt mean its not important. It might be the most important mechanic to learn in the game since your first bullet dictates where the rest of your bullets will go (before rng kicks in of course).

Idk why I just feel more confident and better at aiming with skin. Just my opinion. Does anybody else feel like that??
