    Toxicity on higher elo

    Posted: 11 Sep 2020 12:55 AM PDT

Hey, so I am immortal 3 and sometimes I'm getting ranked with diamond 3's or even lower. Like I don't mind that much tbh. Problem is that sometimes you get this Diamond players expecting me to carry the game with ease. They don't keep in mind that the enemy have at least 1 immortal 3 as well and most of the time some other high ranks. It's not like I'm playing against iron 1 players.

We have to do it together. So i feel sad when people start calling me out and even start griefing because I'm not carrying the game. Omg this immortal 3 blows big time. ( playing defense and I'm just rotating all the time cause people can't hold anything ). Like I don't even care, the enemy probably will have the same issue on defense so I don't mind. Except my teammates absolutely do care.

Just keep in mind that the highest ranks in this game are still human. We make mistakes, we can't solo carry an entire game. We can also bottom frag against lesser opponents. We are like anyone else. Thanks for the read.

Edit: Apparantly the rank / elo doesn't matter. It's just the mindset of a lot of people when they see a higher ranked player in their team 'underperforming' .

Edit2: Rito if you read this post there are many people suggesting to hide the rank till the game has ended. It could be a good idea to counter this exact kind of toxicity. Maybe an even better idea would be to fix the matchmaking and prevent games with enormous rank gaps. Or maybe both.

Strange Green Glowing Orb I Found in a Game of Spike Rush on Split

    Posted: 11 Sep 2020 09:39 AM PDT

Hello, does anyone have any idea of what this orb is? Has anyone seen this on any other map? First time I have seen anything like this and it did not seem like anything similar to the other orbs in the game.

Leavers should lose rating based on number of rounds gone

    Posted: 11 Sep 2020 05:02 AM PDT

This would be a good as a disincentive to leavers, I don't think it should be a huge amount in case of emergencies, blackouts etc.

    Thoughts?

Valorant is in need of a truly casual gamemode.

    Posted: 11 Sep 2020 01:48 AM PDT

And no, unrated doesn't count, I want to queue up for a game of Valorant but I don't wanna spend 30-60 minutes for casual fun, in fact being stuck in a game for 30-60 minutes when you in the mood for a casual game really sucks.

And Spike Rush doesn't count either, because it's random weapons and random powerups and super short like a game can last 5-10 minutes, that's more of a minigame than a casual mode.

And I'm not even gonna discuss Deathmatch, ya'll already know, cmon.

I'd say like a first to 7 or 8 would suffice, just a suggestion from a casual player like myself.

Chat restricted players shouldn’t be able to play competitive.

    Posted: 10 Sep 2020 07:58 PM PDT

I feel there is an extremely unfair advantage for the other team when someone on your team is chat restricted. Communication in this game is extremely important and one person not being able to talk in game can be very detrimental. Sure you can join their party to be able to communicate with them but I've learned that's never actually something you really want to do unless you want to get flamed into oblivion.

I feel the best solution to this problem is to just not let chat restricted people play competitive at all. They can still play casual/deathmatch/spike rush because it doesn't really matter if you win or lose. But if you want to play competitively you need to be able to communicate with your team.

I had to post this because 99.9% of the time everyone on your team has a mic in competitive and 3 of the 5 games I played today I had someone on my team chat restricted and it's just super aggravating to deal with.

My lovely girlfriend has made me a Valorant-themed "Do Not Disturb" sign.

After several times of her coming in unknowingly, me dying, and giving her the stink eye she knows when to come in to give me kisses, and I don't end up dying in-game. Problem solved. Thanks hun!

    Remove the minimap in dm.

    Posted: 10 Sep 2020 11:40 PM PDT

Idk why people camp in dm but its really annoying. The minimap in dm right now helps campers alot. Lobbies right now are full of campers instead of guys that should be instead running around with phantoms and vandals. Minimap should be fixed.

    My Idea to stop Cheaters

    Posted: 11 Sep 2020 08:28 AM PDT

What do you guys think of this idea for a anti-cheat system. Since stopping cheaters seem to be impossible, have the maps preload random invisible/invulnerable no-collision bots or entitys that a aimbot would lock onto. Put them all over the place.

The cheaters will be running around trying to shoot ghosts the whole round.

Ideas for two new gamemodes: Relaxed and Nightshift

    Posted: 11 Sep 2020 08:16 AM PDT

Relaxed: the much needed relaxed mode. The game lasts just as much as a regular game, but you can leave and join with no penalties. When a player starts the matchmaking, he is put into an ongoing match if any position needs to be filled (a player left).

Nightshift: my original creation. In this gamemode, the sky isn't sunny, but a quarter moon shines. Tune your senses, because visibility in this gamemode is extremely reduced except when very close to light sources. The game lasts 8 rounds (4 defense, 4 offense, no overtime). New content built for the gamemode:

    • a 'flashlight' secondary weapon that helps you see better in a cone. Watch out because the battery runs low and, of course, you are a lot easier to see when you use it. You can pick other secondary weapons (like classic, etc.) instead of it if you so decide.

    • a 'lantern' secondary weapon that can be placed or dropped somewhere and picked up by anyone, enemies included. The lantern emits light in a small area.

    • a 'signal rocket' secondary weapon with three charges available. This blinds for 0.3 seconds the people that look directly at it when exploding, but it also makes a light that lasts for 5 seconds and doesn't blind or do damage.

This three might be implemented as abilities instead, removing the regular agent abilities for the gamemode.

Bonus: I wrote a concept for another gamemode a while ago, Hunt
