VALORANT [NEW RULES]Banning Hackusations and Expanding spoiler rule

[NEW RULES]Banning Hackusations and Expanding spoiler rule

    Posted: 29 Oct 2020 09:26 AM PDT

We are adding two new rules today -

    • All accusations of cheating will be disallowed unless published by a Journalistic sources and industry insiders. Random sources from twitter, reddit, ect. are not allowed.

With an industry member defined as:

A prominent member of the esports scene such as a caster, interviewer, contractor, or team member.

The first a ban on accusations of cheating in any form unless they are published by a journalistic source. Journalistic sources are allowed as they are held to higher standards and can be held accountable if they decide to write about a situation where someone is accused/thought to be cheating. This does not ban discussion of confirmed cheating of public figures (pros/streamers/etc).

This rule was primarily written to stop the witchhunting of players who are being accused by members of the community of cheating. This gets out of hand quickly and can ruin the reputation of people who are later to be confirmed by Riot or event management as having not cheated.

    • All leaked content must be marked as "spoiler"

The second rule change is directed at things such as leaks, many users enjoy the surprises of new content so forward on yall need to mark leaked contents as spoiler.

All leaked content must be marked as "spoiler" and the contents of the spoiler must not be listed in the title. Examples:

    Disallowed: "[Agent Name] Leaked"

    Allowed: "New Agent Leaked"

Patch 1.11 Economy Changes - Why in certain rounds you should let the enemy live

    Posted: 29 Oct 2020 06:03 AM PDT

Patch 1.11 Economy Changes - Why in certain rounds you should let the enemy live

TL;DR: If you win a round and the enemy only has a pistol, maybe let them live, so they will get a reduced credit value. If you lose a round and only have a pistol, maybe die to the spike or kill yourself somehow, helping you get an increased credit value.

Long post incoming, so please forgive me:

(Also this is just a theory, so please feel free to correct me in the comments if there's something I'm overlooking)

So according the the 1.11 Patch Notes, the Economy system is being tweaked in regards to the amount of credits a player gets when they "save" in a losing round.

The section I will be referencing:

    Economy changes

    So according to this:

If you're on attack, and you lose the round by not being able to plant the spike:

    • If you die, you get 1,900 credits
    • If you live, you get 1000 credits, plus the weapons on hand.

Works the same way if you're on defense, and you lose the round by the attackers planting the spike.

The difference in all scenarios is 900 credits, which covers the cost of all pistols (and the Bucky, which is exactly 900 in which case it breaks even so this case should be weighed separately).

    This means:

    1. When you lose due to the mentioned conditions, and you only have a pistol + less/no abilities/armor left, it is sometimes better(!) to die to the spike. The extra 900 you get will most likely make up for the pistol you lost, and your abilities/armor depending on what you go for. This is only 100% effective when you are a defender, because losing as an attacker means the spike isn't planted, so you will have to find a way to kill yourself without giving the enemy a kill (which would give them more credits I guess).
    2. (MY MAIN POINT TO THIS POST) If your team is winning, and the remaining enemy player only has a pistol, it might be better to let them live, since they will only get the value of (1000 credits + value of the pistol) for the next round, instead of 1900 credits worth.

Now I understand this has to be adapted for every round when you include armor and/or abilities, but I personally feel this is still something that we should keep in mind when we go hunting for the last remaining enemy player at the end of a winning round (for us).

Thanks for coming to my TEDTalk.

PS: This post was inspired by>! TSM on attack hunting down my boy Hiko who only had a pistol on him on Ascent last night. Situation was different because they didn't plant the spike, but it just made me think. I'm sad 100T went out that way but I'm sure we'll be back better than ever. 100T FTW x!<

TenZ 7s ace with the Frenzy !!!!

    Posted: 29 Oct 2020 11:48 AM PDT

Simple buff that would make Viper a little stronger without being overpowered and still in keeping with her theme.

    Posted: 29 Oct 2020 01:29 AM PDT

Viper has one of my favourite aesthetics of all the agents in Valorant. The snake that hides in her nest, slowly weakening her foes and then striking quickly and mercilessly. A close range, slow assassin that chokes and poison her foes to death. That's a pretty pog idea for an agent.

So it makes me a little sad seeing almost no one play her at the professional level. There are a lot of reasons for that, and I won't go into them here. But one of the reasons for this is that she is almost all setup. She has no reactionary abilities. Which is strange for a character who's theme is a viper/snake. Snakes are infamous for their quick lunges and bites. So with that in mind here is my simple little buff:

Make Vipers ability "Snakebite" come off as fast as Jett throws out a smoke.

Doing away with having to chose the ability, waiting for her to load the poison and then clicking to shot, would not only make her flow better in fights, but also feel more fun to play while still honoring the theme. The name is Snakebite, it would make perfect sense for it to be a fast ability. So at the start of the round she just has her vials loaded. Then when she has an opportunity to use them, she can just raise her arm and throw one out in one quick and smooth motion just like Jett, with just one click of the button.

This would give her a reactionary ability to either stop fast pushes in chokepoints or quickly flush out someone tucked into a corner. Without the vulnerability of slowly loading up her arms and fiddling with the vials. This would be in keeping with the theme of snake biting you quickly while it's being cornered or it quickly biting some prey that it itself has cornered.

Though, you might have to nerf the poisons potency if this is done. But I'd rather have a weaker quick ability to throw down while being zerged then having to fiddle with vials while being shot in the face.

it would be so cool to get gun skins for the first strike finals.

    Posted: 29 Oct 2020 12:36 PM PDT

like rainbow 6 and valorant have player skins for their esports teams I think that when the finals come around the top 4 teams should all get a gun skin including team color scheme and logo!

Omen should have more ace voicelines.

    Posted: 29 Oct 2020 12:02 PM PDT

I love the agent voicelines! Especially the ace voicelines are always stunning! But looking at how many some agents have (breach has like 5) it's disappointing that omen only has 1 (worthless dead fools). While I understand most omen mains LOVE this voiceline I think it's not enough. I'd like to have atleast one more.

Riot should include radiant in skin bundles

    Posted: 29 Oct 2020 04:03 AM PDT

When i bought the oni bundle I wanted to upgrade to get the vfx and variants but i couldn't because the battlepass wasn't enough and radianite is crazy expensive to buy. I think this is the case when you buy more than one bundle, it can be frustrating to have to wait days for you to unlock your battlepass radianite while playing with the default. Here is what i suggest to fix this.

    - add 30-60 radianite so you can level up you guns and play with them

    - make this a thing in every bundle and the more expesive the bundle is the more radianite you would add

This will just be a small thing that will improve quality of life and is not harmful to the game. Riot should do this as it gives more incentive for people to buy the skin bundles and it lets the players level up there guns quicker, I feel like this would fit perfectly into the game and is not a bad idea. Does anyone agree with this.

Addressing the “Why am I bad now” posts

    Posted: 28 Oct 2020 08:37 PM PDT

If you've been on this subreddit as much as I have, you've definitely seen the bombardment of posts that can be multiple paragraphs long that essentially boil down to: "I'm bad at the game right now, and I know it's not my fault!!" I don't mean for this post to come off as whiny, but it's honestly annoying me at this point. Half of their arguments are just "I'm good at CSGO, so it's riots fault I'm underperforming!"

The longer you play a game, the more structured your habits become. When you're playing worse in a game you've played a lot, you can fall back on your muscle memory and habits, whereas you have to stay mentally alert when playing a new game.

I don't think these guys get that...

Inconsistency isn't ALWAYS the games fault, and more likely it stems from mental strain from long games of bad vibes.

I'm not dismissing the server issues or hit registration or the advantage of 4-5 stacks, but too many people vent about this instead of learning by themselves how to become consistant.

The other team changes every game, so your play style has to as well.

If you take anything from this post, just remember to think twice about upvoting vent posts to represent your current anger and hunger for excuses.

    Thanks guys, bye!

Me and the bois has a new game mode idea: Pistol game mode

    Posted: 29 Oct 2020 09:05 AM PDT

Basically it would just be pistol rounds, because there's a lot of strategy on pistol round that doesn't appear anywhere else in the game. Everyone has the same limited amount of money, making your choices much more important. A better gun or light shields? All of my abilities and a classic or only a few and a frenzy? I think it would just make for a fun game mode with a twist. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

There should be an option to privatise your match history.

    Posted: 29 Oct 2020 11:43 AM PDT

Not only would this be useful for the anxious players in the community, pro players have complained that match visibility in the career tab is revealing too much information about scrims (see: Hiko's patch 1.11 video).

From a personal standpoint, I get overly anxious having my career tab public to others, especially when there are oddly confrontational people who are constantly leering at your performance to make offhanded remarks. If I was able to make it private, it would allay any of my concerns. Obviously, this is quite a trivial issue and I should iron out the problem myself, but alas it is an adequate anecdotal example. I think it would be quite nice to cater to those with poorer self-esteem!

How is cloud 9 white doing in the tourney?

The 3 Rank queue requirement should be enforced in matchmaking.

    Posted: 29 Oct 2020 01:30 AM PDT

Why is it that in a Radiant game there can be a diamond 3 player? If i'm ranked Radiant I can only queue with people in immortal and up, yet there can be a diamond 3 player in the game wondering how the hell he got there and 99% of the time ends up on the bottom, I dont see how you can balance teams with a mix of Radiants and Diamonds.

Draw votes with AFKs are a little screwy

    Posted: 29 Oct 2020 01:32 PM PDT

With one afk you still need 5 votes for a draw on the first draw phase. If your team has an afk, it can impossible for your team to get a draw. This is especially bad if the afk is the reason that there is a draw in the first place. I played a game where we were rolling the enemy team until one of our teammates left and they managed to come back 12-12. Somehow we tied the first overtime and voted to tie instead of continue the game, which they most likely would've won. An afk on a team should decrease the number of votes to get a draw by the amount of afks. I think the decrease in number of votes to get a draw should be capped by the maximum amount of afks on the team, since this change should only be to let both teams decide on a draw, rather than one team being at the mercy of the other.

Two and a half months in, i am really enjoying this game.

    Posted: 29 Oct 2020 01:25 PM PDT

Hopefully this is a good place to post my appreciation but my friend got me to download Valorant and man is this game fun. Im mostly a console player, playing Rainbow Six Siege, Apex, and COD as my multiplayer games. But i built a new PC and after playing siege on it i needed something new. I missed out on the CS boat when i was younger so i didnt know if i would like this game. My friend explained the Econ and most players ive played with are pretty cool, sans one jerk in a ranked game, but thats online gaming for ya. Anyways game is fun and looking forward to getting better

I'm in an interesting predicament with crosshair placement.

    Posted: 29 Oct 2020 11:42 AM PDT

I just started playing a few days ago, and I'm having a lot of problems adjusting to a specific type of players. These players crouch while firing. My crosshair is usually at the head level as I roam. This is what created an interesting phenomenon where I'm getting more headshots (and kills) against visibly good players who are skilled within their ranks compared to inexperienced players who spray my chest and kill me while I'm adjusting my crosshair from their head level to their chest level which would then be their head level. The difference in their skills is clear to me due to the other decisions they make throughout the matches.

I understand that I should just learn to read my opponents better and adjust, but it's frustrating nonetheless. Share any other advice you may have.
