Devs need to change the Prime Phantom sound

    Posted: 13 Mar 2021 07:17 AM PST

The sound of the Prime Phantom skin just sounds like it doesn't belong to the prime collection. It doesn't feel prime at all. The sound is worse than the normal matte black phantom.

    TenZ is actually so insane

    Posted: 12 Mar 2021 03:20 PM PST

I always thought TenZ is good but after those c9 results I thought maybe others caught up and he's just not the best anymore and he's got high ping. But this Sentinels game has given a whole new perspective on just how good TenZ is.

Man just went into this team no scrims no practice and with double the ping of the others and he just destroys LG, and playing Reyna and raze too. Although well played rest Sentinels too imo they are def top 2 NA even with a standin which is insane. I hope they actually do really well and TenZ decides to join them as perm as I think this team has the calibur to fully bring out the god in TenZ

Why are the skin prices/features in Valorant so inconsistent?

    Posted: 13 Mar 2021 08:47 AM PST

Why don't skin tiers have defined features that are consistent? It feels bad to buy a skin which has less features but costs the same as another skinline. I don't want to hear the argument a dev posted a while ago that "some people like the default reload animation". Yeah right, then make the skin cheaper. Anything that costs 1775+ and doesn't have all the featuers of Reaver or Prime just objectively has less value. I just don't get it. And yeah sure, you can say that it is subjective, but the skins are already expensive and radianite upgrades being a necessity is just a cherry on top. I guess they are trying to make the 1775VP skins less special so they can milk even more people on the 2175VP ones. Oh well, anyway.

Allow us to vote between 2 map 20s after picking characters. This will help immensely with dodgers.

    Posted: 13 Mar 2021 09:43 AM PST

Edit: I mean before picking characters, obviously the map will tell you which characters you need to pick.

Edit #2: This is going over some peoples heads. This is not a Map Queue/Selection idea. Literally same queue, you just get 2 maps to vote on before picking characters. As long as one is not icebox you will see less dodgers lol. Map Queue/Selection would suggest you only queue up to play Bind or Haven thus you'll never queue with the players who selected Icebox or Ascent, that would be splitting the queue. This is keeping the queue in tact you just as a lobby get a chance to dodge a map you hate.

Now that we can't really see ranks, if we're being honest the only reason to dodge is .....icebox lol. I think this is the final installment needed to eliminate the dodging and will go a long way from being forced into a 40min game on a map you dread. Surprisingly this isn't a thing, but should hopefully be easy to implement and I don't know how the Devs would go against an idea, it just makes sense from a community relations standpoint. Also if you see a mapped being dodge a ton, that means its time to look into it to see why.

    No more toxicity!

    Posted: 13 Mar 2021 08:47 AM PST

I wanna share an experience. Yesterday I was playing Valorant at 2AM. It was my first match after my exams, so I was hoping for a good match.

Turns out the fact that our team was way too overpowered compared to our opponents, and our Killjoy started being toxic to the opponent Astra. I'm so glad that almost every one stood up against him, from both teams. Like in all chat they repeatedly requested him not to be toxic. Eventually Killjoy understood that he's being targeted and didn't speak anymore.

So my friends, if you ever go through this type of situation, not just in Valorant but any other game, speak up. Nobody should ever violate your personal gaming experience.

Imagine the post plant with this lineup

    Posted: 13 Mar 2021 04:04 AM PST

You have Viper (8 sec molly, 16 sec total), Killjoy (5 sec molly, 10 sec total) , Brim (8 sec molly), Phoenix (4 sec molly) and Sova (pog shock darts). That amounts to 38 seconds of molly time(obviously not including sova darts) . Since the spike detonates in 45 seconds and takes 7 seconds to be defused, there is a very small window where the defenders can actually defuse and then Sova just shock darts them. Imagine the cheese 🧀.

Teamate threw cause his friends were on the other team

I dont have any videos or more photos , cause my laptops laggy but our jett was grabbing spike and just body blocking us , because her friends were on the other team . She had better internet than us so was always able to grab the spike , it got to the point where the other team(all 5) would just camp a heaven with odins and operators .

We asked them to report , but they were chatting with the jett and just following her around once we all died .

This is all very frustrating , and the worst part is the jett admitted to doing this before , and said she didnt get banned

Is Valorant the new standard for esports games?

EDIT: Over 300 views on the article! Thank you guys so much for taking the time to read it. Appreciate you all, and I'm loving the interaction in the comments :)

    Hey guys,

I wrote a piece the other day about Valorant's role to play in esports and how I think Riot found a fantastic opportunity to create a tactical 5v5 fps esport with active developer backing.
This is my first ever non-academic piece I've written, so any constructive criticism is appreciated.

I hope I'm not breaking any rules posting this, I did try to follow them all.

    Moments before disaster

Two of our friends went afk during the first round due to internet problems. The enemy team was cool enough to offer a knife round and a selfie cam. We lost 2-13 but it was still a fun game.

What are the most difficult agents to play?

    Posted: 13 Mar 2021 09:52 AM PST

I'm a main raze, and recently I've picked Phoenix (which I haven't done since the beta) and I found it super easy to get used to. So I was thinking of a list from the easiest to the most difficult agents to use.

This is not considering how difficult it is to master this agent, but how easy it is for a person who's never used this agent to actually use its kit well regardless of previous experience.

Please, I wanna know how the community sees the agents in terms of how easy or hard they are. Leave your opinions!

My list goes (from the easiest)

    1) Phoenix. His kit is very intuitive, the pop flash is super easy to use, despite being main raze for over 8 months, I thought that being an entry frag is a lot easier with the wall and the flashes.

    2) Reyna. Blind, heal, dismiss. Pretty simple.

    3) Sage. I think Sage is an easy agent in the sense that, if all the agents I'm used to are picked and I have to choose an agent I've never used, Sage is a good candidate. I can still help regardless of not knowing any tricks.

    4) Breach. 3 flashes, stun and an instakill through wall skill. I hate playing against breach. I just hate it. I know his win rate is not that great, but holy shit, I hate seeing an enemy breach.

    5) Brimstone. Not because his kit is super easy, but because you don't have much to use. Smoke where you have to, use the molotov, buff your teammates.

    6) Raze. If you have never played with Raze, you'll definitely suffer to jump around. But with a instakill nade that resets after 2k, you can work around from the floor. Her ult used to be OP, but now you have to expose yourself a lot for one kill.

    7) Jett. The favorite of many pro players. Her ult is super OP, but only if you are OP as well. It requires your own skill to kill enemies. But she has the dash, which pretty much makes her an annoying opponent. One button and you're out of range.

    8) Sova. If we're considering a bad Sova, he'd go up in the list. But a bad sova is the same as not having a sova at all. In order to play as Sova, and not as a CS character in Sova skin, in order to use his kit, you need to have a good understanding of his mechanics.

    9) Skye. I think it's hard to play Skye mostly because she's not a good agent. The flashes are good because they detect people, but it's a slow flash, so you have to know how to abuse it.

    10) Killjoy. Highest win rate in the game right now. But you only get that win rate after a few games with her and some time spent in personalized games to test set ups. First time playing KJ is not gonna be a good game for you.

    11) Cypher. I've never played Cypher. I have no idea. I think Cypher is just too difficult to do anything. but that's just me.

    12) Omen. If you ignore the teleports, he's somewhat okay to use. If you're gonna use TPs, well... you'll likely die if you're not used to think as Omen. Using the ult wrong is a constant risk.

    13) Viper. This character is so difficult that no one uses her. Why care. I actually think Viper can be pretty decent if you master her, specially in between low and high elos, but if you're going to pick her for the first time in your life, you'll just annoy your teammates.

    14) Astra. Astra is the most difficult agent in the game right now, in my opinion. Because she relies a lot in the team. If the team is not giving her good calls, she's impossible to play with. So even if you're an experienced Astra player, if your team is not experienced in playing with an Astra in the team, you're fucked.

Bonus: Yoru. I don't think he can be considered easy or hard to play with. I think he's just stupid. At the moment, I would prefer he didn't exist.

Please share your list or your thoughts :)

    Fan-made Agent Idea

    Posted: 13 Mar 2021 09:47 AM PST

Ok, so I noticed how all the radiant agents (the agents that have abilities that come from themselves, not equipment) have elemental powers such as Jett is wind, Skye is life, Reyna is death, etc. But there isn't a water agent, so I decided to make one myself. I'm pretty bad at art, so no art, sorry...

So the agent is a controller named Hydra (or Hydro, I like both) and he is from Italy. I've thought of all his abilities, lore, and even a new map!

C (Hydrophobic) - This allows Hydra to equip a water shield that he can use on teammates. What makes this shield different from just buying shields is that it breaks with time, not with damage. It lasts for 5 seconds without taking damage, and when you start taking damage, it breaks after a second. A second may seem like not a lot, but I'm sure higher rank players will definitely find uses for this. It has 2 charges and at least 1 of the 2 charges must be used on yourself.

Q (Thunder Cloud) - This is probably one of the more unoriginal abilities of the group because another agent already has something pretty similar to this. You can place a thunder cloud that covers a small radius. All enemies inside the radius will get deafened and will not hear any sound. Also, vision is changed from 100% to around 70 to 75%. Players also hear loud raindrops Has 2 charges.

E (Waterfall) - Hydra is a controller and all controllers have smokes, so Hydra needs smokes too. He can equip a waterfall that he can put on top of doorways only. It won't work if he tries putting the waterfall on places that don't have a ceiling. Placing a waterfall will work on C short on Haven, but not C long. The waterfall is partially invisible (only visible if you look at it for more than 2 seconds) and all enemies that go through it are concussed and revealed on the map. Has 2 charges and replenishes after 35 seconds

X (Trident Strike, idk) - Requires 6 charges and it makes the sky become cloudy and it starts raining> Hydra gets a trident which works similarly to Jett's knives. If he hits the enemy, it's a one shot kill and he gets the trident back. If he misses, he loses the trident. Also, if he steps out of the rain, he loses the trident and it stops raining. He gains a minor speed and damage buff. The rain has no effect in battle, so if you want to create audio disturbance, it's better to use the q ability than just wasting an ultimate.

Lore: Hydra and Phoenix were very good friends, but after they both got their abilities, Phoenix went a little crazy. He soon realized he was immortal and started using his abilities for things Hydra was not consent with. They broke their friendship and Phoenix joined Kingdom. Hydra hid underwater, and soon was found by Kingdom.

Map: It wouldn't be right not giving the water type agent not an Atlantis theme map, so that's the new map. Atlantis was found by Hydra and used by Kingdom to store radianite. I personally really like this map idea because it's pretty unique. Atlantis is under the water and Kingdom has put in inside an air bubble so the other agents can breathe. It has 2 sites just like almost every other map. I don't really have an idea of what it would look like, other than some coral and sand being on the ground...

So, what do you guys think?

Credit goes to ImUrNeighbor (me), Shadow_1 (help with name and abilities), sluggogrenade (help with abilities and map idea), and my cousin (help with art which isn't ready yet...)

Got demoted because 4 man squad left the game after griefing me!

Had a competitive game where a four man squad left after a surrender vote fail. Then proceed to troll with Sova shock darts and Sage slows on me before they all simultaneously leaving the match!

    EDIT: Grammar

    Demoted because of rq, yay!

They had surrendered around round 4 and left at round 5.

Why can’t we remake when in a 5 stack?

    Posted: 13 Mar 2021 10:21 AM PST

I was in a 5 stack with my friends and 2 of us disconnected because our electricity cut off right at the start of the game. We could not remake because we were in a 5 stack and we lost 6 rounds in a row before the 2 came back and lost the game 13-11. It would have been nice to remake since it made us loose the game.

    Burst/Rush normal mode.

    Posted: 13 Mar 2021 01:24 PM PST

Just wanted to know if anyone else would want or if rioters are thinking about a normals game mode with a smaller amount of rounds like best of 5 or 7 instead of best of 13. Spike rush is cool, but sometimes I just wanna hop in a normal game but after thinking about how long its gonna take end up playing a spike rush or escalation instead.

    How can I reach Immortal?

    Posted: 13 Mar 2021 12:14 PM PST

I just started playing the game(my first fps ever) in early Feb. i played a lot during these 2-3 weeks, and somehow got to bronze 3. I try to learn as much on here and from pros youtube/twitch content. I have a really good work ethic so i want to be training every, but don't know how to optimize my training routine. Can anyone tell me what exactly i should be doing in training, i know i need to work on crosshair placement so i'm trying to learn all of the maps and where their "heads will be at" but there's a lot. Anyways, should i use aimlab, deathmatch, range, etc. And then how can i optimize my time when using those features. I have the work ethic but i don't want to waste my time learning bad habits. Also, realistically, if i train every day extensively how long would it take someone to reach immortal or even high diamond(yes i know it differs for everyone)? Any suggestions would be fine!!!!

One last question... who would my team benefit more with, sova or omen?!?!
