Started playing beta because of the lockdown because I was bored and haven't played FPS since I was 17 and was playing top level CS 1.6 at that time. Last mostly game played during the past years was FIFA. I usually have 3 or 5 games each week but played a little bit more lately to get immortal. What I felt necessary to impoverished and to improve myself: -changed my 4K 60 fps monitor to a 1440p at 144hz -bought a gaming mouse and a gaming mousepad -trained my aim (practice range and aimlab (from 50k to 90k in gridshot) -CROSSHAIR PLACEMENT -worked on calming down in the game and asked myself how I can play better instead of arguing with toxic teammates. I know it's hard considering some people but it really works. -dodged games if I felt any smell of toxicity. I shouldn't say that but yeah it helped me getting better Now, time to secure the whole ranking triangle and make it all red ! Especially all the duelists that don't push site, never give info to their smokers and then proceed to tell you "I have more kills, you are trash" is too high for a tactical shooter. My suggestion? The game should explain to the people what the roles in the game do (very generally). Although it might be necessary to implement bots into the game for this. Treating them differently because of their gender is never right – whether you think you're being friendly or not. I caught up with an old friend today who happens to be female. We met playing League years ago having added each other after a game to continue a flaming fest. We queued up for a Valorant game about an hour ago and immediately two guys jumped on my friend when they heard her voice. These two guys began asking my friend for her name, Insta, Facebook and number and they wouldn't let up. They focused on every little move she made and patronised her at every available opportunity. She played twice as well as me but got twice the criticism. This happens to her eight out of ten games she plays. The comments she gets range from "what's your Insta" to "get back in the fucking kitchen, bitch" and they're all absolutely disgusting. My friend got on Valo this evening to play the game we all love and chill with mates. She left in near tears after one game because a couple of guys from London who thought they were funny couldn't treat her with basic respect, common courtesy, or decency. I'm no social justice warrior, but we need to do better than this. Women the world over are the victims of everything from harassment to rape and murder because some guys objectify them and somehow look past the fact they're normal everyday humans with dreams, hopes and fears – just like them. It's not every guy in the world, but it's too many and any behaviour that keeps that divide alive, no matter how minor, is part of the problem. For my friend and for girls more generally, think fucking twice before you decide to pick on a teammate because she's a woman. It's never funny when it's the 50th time it's happened to you that week and it all goes towards perpetuating the normalisation of women being mistreated. | Half Unrated Gamemode and why. Posted: 13 Mar 2021 10:10 PM PST I know this kind of post has been made multiple times but I believe asking for it over and over is needed to bring the request to the devs' attention. Valorant really needs a shorter unrated gamemode. No Orbs, No random loadouts, No Balance and price differences, No gimmicks. Just unrated but cut in half. You don't switch sides you just play your side whether it is defense or attack. This will help so much with the game being enjoyable. As for why? I think it helps with alot of problems. You are not stuck for long with players you don't like. You can play the game if you don't have 40+ minutes to spare. You are not stuck for a long time if you are not enjoying yourself and regret starting a game. You can warmup for competitive by getting into the actual gamemode mindset while not spending 40+ minutes to do so. A shorter gamemode is less strenuous ( I can't speak for everyone but valorant is an exhausting game to play since you gotta be in tip-top shape the whole time to perform well.) Spike rush is too different and doesn't scratch the unrated itch. Orbs change the game alot, and random guns are just silly (for some reason I get shotguns half the time eventhough they are about %17 of the pool). Deathmatch only serves as a warmup for aim but it ignores every other aspect of the game. The one problem I see with a separate shorter unrated gamemode is the possibility that people won't play normal unrated since they can just play 2 shorter versions of unrated with lower commitment, but whether that is a good or bad thing is debatable. Why do crosshairs matter? Why do people call my crosshair bad? I've heard people saying it's too faint or movement crosshair is on. Why is movement aiming crosshair bad? How do I shoot better? I usually end up getting outgunned in most situations. I use mostly the Phantom or Ares Playstyle: I'm overreliant on abilities.
