    Valorant 2.04 Bug Megathread

    Posted: 02 Mar 2021 08:13 AM PST

    Greetings Agents!

New patch, new Bug mega. To avoid bugs report cluttering the subreddit and/or going unnoticed we will get a single Megathread which will be posted today and after every patch so that you guys can report the various issues in one place. This allows Riot to easily keep track of the bugs by providing a central hub and also allows other users to confirm that they might have encountered.

Prerequisites to be noted before reporting a bug

    1. A bug will ideally be accompanied with a screenshot or a video. This provides credibility to your report.
    2. Steps to recreate the bugs should be submitted if possible. This helps Rioters recreate the bug and helps them find the cause behind it.

Format when reporting a bug: When reporting a bug, please provide as much information as you can about your computer.

Region: The region you're playing in when you encountered the bug

Type of Bug: Client Bug, In Game Bug, etc.

Description: Describe what was the bug that occurred.

Video / Screenshot: Insert screenshot (F12 in game) or Video of the bug occurring.

Steps to reproduce: Provide the steps necessary if someone else had to reproduce the bug.

Expected result: What should have been the result when you follow the steps mentioned above.

Observed result: What was the result you obtained when you followed the steps mentioned above?

Reproduction rate: If you try to recreate the bug how successful are you in causing it to occur? (1/10 : Occurs once every 10 tries, 5/10 : Occurs 5 times out of 10, 10/10 : Happens every single time)

System specs: Processor, Video card, Ram, HDD/SSD, everything you can provide, even drivers.

    Example Bug:

    Region: EU

    Type of Bug: Matchmaking

    Description: Matchmaking doesn't work properly

    • Insert Video / Screenshot of the incident

Reproduction rate: 10/10 (happened 10 out of 10 times)

Steps to reproduce: Try to launch a game

    Expected result: Match starting

Observed result: Getting stuck in infinite queue

System Specs: Intel i5 Processor, Windows 7, Nvidia Graphics card (insert model number) etc.

If you don't know how to format comments on Reddit click here

    - **Region:** - **Type of Bug:** - **Description:** - **Video / Screenshot:** - **Steps to reproduce:** - **Expected result:** - **Observed result:** - **Reproduction rate:** - **System specs:**

Copy paste the above code and fill in your details.

From this Megathread the list of bugs will not be summarized and put up in the main body of the thread, however note that many Rioters are going through every single comment so don't worry if you post the 1500th or 3000th comment, every reply will be read over the next few days.

    The video experiment is over!

    Posted: 15 Mar 2021 11:55 AM PDT

    Hey there!

Thanks for sticking with us during the last five weeks! We've been able to try a bunch of different ways to manage video posts on the sub and you have been able to give us feedback on what you thought.

We'll take some time to take a good look at the results of the trial weeks in order to hopefully select a set of rules that strikes the best balance between clips and other content.

For now, we're back to our rules from before the trial weeks. You can see the full details in the sidebar, but in short: only eSports clips and clips that display educational content are allowed to be directly linked. Gameplay videos may only be shared if you post them as a link in a text post with at least 1000 chars of additional context.

If you'd still like to give formal feedback for each of the weeks, you can do so in the links below. You can also leave comments on this post discussing the experiments and what you thought about the sub during the weeks.

Formal Feedback Week 1 - All Clips Allowed
Formal Feedback Week 2 - 15s Minimum Duration
Formal Feedback Week 3 - 30s Minimum Duration
Formal Feedback Week 4 - Clips Wednesday Only
Formal Feedback Week 5 - Clips Megathreads

    Reaver 2.0 Butterfly Concept

    Posted: 15 Mar 2021 04:51 AM PDT

This was made in Blender and combines the original Reaver Dagger with the CSGO butterfly knife design. I know Riot isn't planning on making a second Reaver collection, but if they added something like this to the game I would go crazy.

    Sage's Dark Secret: Lore Theory

    Posted: 15 Mar 2021 08:09 AM PDT

We all know Sage, the virtuous, honorable, flawless hero of the Valorant world. She has no ill thoughts towards anybody and holds no grudges, she only thinks about saving the people and being a good hero. However, there is surely a dark story about her. Alas, nobody is perfect and nobody would have such courage to act like a flawless hero. I think she is insecure and afraid. Thus, to hide her weak personality and dark secrets, she adopted a "brave" persona. We can understand this by listening to other characters.

First, lets talk about Omen and his voice lines towards Sage:

"Sage, the life you give...do you ever wonder where it's taken from? "

From this voice line, we can understand that sage heals people by sacrificing or doing something that she does/does not know about. If we take this Lore Theory about Omen by u/thebirdof_hermes as canon(which probably is). Omen may be the source of Sage's abilities or he knows something about Sage that we don't know about.

"A radiant healer is with them. I can feel her pull against the natural balance."

This voice line from Omen also tells that Sage definitely is causing some damage to the balance of nature by healing people.

We also know that Viper was a healer before, and Viper, Omen, Sage trio worked together back then, which can be understood from the voice lines between the trio:

Viper to Sage: "That's payback Sage."
Omen to Viper: "Sabine, look at the monsters we've become! At least you have flesh to hide your horror."
Omen to Viper: "Just think, Sabine! You used to heal with your skill. Funny."

Sage has no direct voice lines towards Viper and Omen, which means that she knows she is guilty and she does not have the face to speak to them.

We can also assume from the theory above that this trio caused an unintentional catastrophe before.

Viper to Sage: "Sage, you're the only one who can keep us alive. Don't fail us now like you failed me then."

From this voice line, we can tell that Sage was the most important factor in this catastrophe and her failure lead to Viper being a mad scientist who meddles with chemicals and caused Omen to lose his body and become the void.

She failed big time, she is insecure and afraid but she hides her fears behind a heroic persona. She is keeping that persona because nobody knows (except Viper and Omen), and she doesn't want to reveal her secrets, because everybody could hate her. The hero of the people, the symbolism of honor.. What would people think, if it was all a lie?

    Glitchpop 3.0 Butterfly Knife Concept

    Posted: 15 Mar 2021 12:23 PM PDT

After my last Reaver 2.0 butterfly knife concept, I thought it would be cool to make another one. This was made in Blender and uses both the blade and handle of the Glitchpop Dagger with some shape and texture edits. Hope you like it!

Yes, I know we already have two Glitchpop collections but I don't expect any of these to be made... I just think they look cool :P

Increase The Rounds Needed For a /remake

    Posted: 15 Mar 2021 08:30 AM PDT

I was playing in a 4 stack with friends yesterday night and we had a random on our team. I don't know what it is, but whenever we 4 man, the random is either racist, or the most depressed and easily triggered human being out there. We also always comm with randoms and never impose any roles on them. We just let them do what they want in hopes they won't be toxic.

I always start off by saying "mic check, anybody got a mic?" In hopes the random solo que has a mic. He doesn't respond. Classic. I then ask him, "hey Raze, do you have a mic?" He tells me to "relax" in an annoyed/depressing tone. Great, he's already triggered somehow.

Pistol round comes by. We lose. The score is 0 - 1. Our random solo que player has now left the game and abandons after round 2. We tried /remake when he disconnected. It didn't work. He ends up disconnecting after round 2. We then /remake again. It doesn't work. Great. We now get punished for getting into a game with a depressing, triggered little asshole who left after a single pistol round. On Haven btw, defence first.

What I'm suggesting is to increase the round requirement for a /remake. It's way too short and unforgiving. At least make it till the first buy round (round 3/4) or something. It's just so tight at the moment it really sucks. Why do we get punished for someone else's actions? We don't deserve to lose that MMR at all. It's not fair. We didn't do anything rude/toxic to the guy at all. I simply asked if he had a mic and he took great offence somehow.

Please do reconsider the requirements for /remake. Please.

P.s, we reported him for sabotaging + leaving. But that doesn't bring back our MMR!

    Not allowed to play Valorant

    Posted: 14 Mar 2021 09:02 PM PDT

I started playing in the closed beta. I was playing in the days that Raze had 2 grenades and Sage was an OP champ. However, when my parents saw what I was playing, they have banned me from playing Valorant and any other shooter games.

As you can probably tell, they are more on the conservative side of entertainment. They didn't let me play Fortnite until I was 14. I am almost 16 at the time of posting this and I was almost 15 when they banned it, so almost a year ago. I have tried countless times this past year trying to convince them, and have stayed consistent and respectful. However, because they are conservative about shooter games, even after creating a slideshow presentation showing my stance on FPS games and scientific articles, as well as points from both sides, they have remained steadfast on their stance. Any alternatives to Valorant or any other things I can bring up that might change their minds?

    listen to your killjoy/cypher

    Posted: 15 Mar 2021 07:27 AM PDT

i want to make this very clear; PLEASE LISTEN TO YOUR KILLJOY AND CYPHER. Cypher and Killjoy excel at holding sites by themselves and detecting any enemies at the site. When they detect someone they usually say that the enemies are at c or a etc. but people dont listen and they end up losing because they were too late at the site. People dont realize that sentinels dont have the power to push alone into groups of 2-5 people like duelists and are therefore incapable of killing all the enemies at the site. That is why they need more suppot and quicker response from teammates in order to win the round.

In what the way is Astra better than Omen?

    Posted: 15 Mar 2021 06:36 AM PDT

I've played a lot of both and here is my take:

-I would often rather omens blind then Astra's pull and stun

-Omen gets multiple free smokes a round

    -Omen gets a reposition ability

-Omen doesn't have to go to different world to place abilities

-Omens abilities are less pre meditated

    -Astra's ult is much better

-Astra gets unlimited free 2 second smokes

    -Astra has lower smoke cd
