    VALORANT Valorant 2.04 Bug Megathread

    Valorant 2.04 Bug Megathread

    Posted: 02 Mar 2021 08:13 AM PST

    Greetings Agents!

New patch, new Bug mega. To avoid bugs report cluttering the subreddit and/or going unnoticed we will get a single Megathread which will be posted today and after every patch so that you guys can report the various issues in one place. This allows Riot to easily keep track of the bugs by providing a central hub and also allows other users to confirm that they might have encountered.

Prerequisites to be noted before reporting a bug

    1. A bug will ideally be accompanied with a screenshot or a video. This provides credibility to your report.
    2. Steps to recreate the bugs should be submitted if possible. This helps Rioters recreate the bug and helps them find the cause behind it.

Format when reporting a bug: When reporting a bug, please provide as much information as you can about your computer.

Region: The region you're playing in when you encountered the bug

Type of Bug: Client Bug, In Game Bug, etc.

Description: Describe what was the bug that occurred.

Video / Screenshot: Insert screenshot (F12 in game) or Video of the bug occurring.

Steps to reproduce: Provide the steps necessary if someone else had to reproduce the bug.

Expected result: What should have been the result when you follow the steps mentioned above.

Observed result: What was the result you obtained when you followed the steps mentioned above?

Reproduction rate: If you try to recreate the bug how successful are you in causing it to occur? (1/10 : Occurs once every 10 tries, 5/10 : Occurs 5 times out of 10, 10/10 : Happens every single time)

System specs: Processor, Video card, Ram, HDD/SSD, everything you can provide, even drivers.

    Example Bug:

    Region: EU

    Type of Bug: Matchmaking

    Description: Matchmaking doesn't work properly

    • Insert Video / Screenshot of the incident

Reproduction rate: 10/10 (happened 10 out of 10 times)

Steps to reproduce: Try to launch a game

    Expected result: Match starting

Observed result: Getting stuck in infinite queue

System Specs: Intel i5 Processor, Windows 7, Nvidia Graphics card (insert model number) etc.

If you don't know how to format comments on Reddit click here

    - **Region:** - **Type of Bug:** - **Description:** - **Video / Screenshot:** - **Steps to reproduce:** - **Expected result:** - **Observed result:** - **Reproduction rate:** - **System specs:**

Copy paste the above code and fill in your details.

From this Megathread the list of bugs will not be summarized and put up in the main body of the thread, however note that many Rioters are going through every single comment so don't worry if you post the 1500th or 3000th comment, every reply will be read over the next few days.

    VALORANT Patch Notes 2.04

    Posted: 02 Mar 2021 08:55 AM PST

I grinded from Silver 1 to Plat 2 this act, and here are some lessons I learned

    Posted: 02 Mar 2021 12:16 AM PST

    https://i.imgur.com/4iSpMkN.jpg

Solo/duo queue 95% of the time. Some lessons I learned:

    • some games you just have to accept that you will lose and just start worrying about your own performance. Those 4v5s, toxic teammate games are not worth stressing over, just mute all and focus on fragging.
    • People will instalock dualists and not entry frag. Sometimes in order to win you will have to play support characters and also lead the charge. It's just the way it is.
    • Gold/Silver players overrotate like crazy and it's very easy to exploit this if you have decent game sense. It's super easy to lurk mid in these ranks because you can gain so much map control.
    • DM is worse than spike rush when it comes to warming up or practicing. People play like rats and it's not realistic practice.
    • Add good teammates.
    • Take breaks.
    • Drink water.

Edit: this blew up overnight, I want to add a few more.

    • The first point I made above, I don't mean mute everyone and bait the moment someone says something mean. I've had games where me and someone else were toxic at one another, smoothed things out as the team won some rounds, and eventually it was fine. But what I've found is that the lower the rank, the less your teammates have to lose by making your experience miserable. Don't let them win.
    • Regarding point 3 - I don't mean lurk away from your teammates every round. More often than not, a well coordinated push onto a site is the best opportunity to win a round. But if you're playing a slow "default" and you get a pick A, you have to realize the enemy comms will be "they're A!!" and in 20 seconds, if they're silver/gold, they will all have rotated simply due to one teammate dying at A. If you can exploit that, force them to rotate A, and take mid control alone while your team is rotating B, you are in a very strong position to win the round.
    • Watch people better than you. This applies to everything from sports to cooking to starting a new job, but with a game like this with so many abilities it's super helpful to take the time and watch utility lineup tutorials, for example. My most used agent was Cypher, and Peak's videos helped me use that agent to its potential.
    • It starts from the agent select screen. Say hello, ask how everyone is doing, wait until your team decides on their agent before choosing yours - therefore I do recommend practicing important but seldom instalocked agents such as Brim/Omen and Sage/KJ/Cypher.

Thanks for everyone's feedback on the post, positive or negative. Good luck in the next Act!

Stop judging your performance only by K/D/A

    Posted: 02 Mar 2021 06:46 AM PST

This is for those that get high KDA and blame teammates, those that get low KDA and hate on themselves, and all those in between.

While K/D/A is an indicator of your contribution, it is one of many. Like most numbers, it can be inflated.

The bottom assumes you're not Smurfing.

Examples of having a POSITIVE contributions with bad K/D/A:

    1. If the enemy comes to your site less on defense and you're constantly forced into bad retakes, your K/D/A will suffer... but that's still a successful defense of a site.

    2. If you're playing sentinels, your K/D/A will suffer.. but you bring utility. Smokes / Sova / Breach also provide incredible utility (if you actually know how to smoke and flash correctly, not place the smoke outward so the enemy can use it to their advantage on retakes... don't play omen. Just play brim). Also, enemy lurk/flank info is gold.

    3. If you're constantly entrying - and communicating when and going in after smokes to set up trades... no solo Rambo - and getting traded, your K/D/A will suffer but you're buying space and setting up trades.

Examples of having NEGATIVE contributions with great K/D/A:

    1. You get kills mainly from lurking. Lurking has its uses. If you can knock out 2+ people and the team regroups, wow, great! If you knock out the rotator while your team enters a site and they take heavy losses or fail? Your fault. Less members make takes exponentially weaker, vice versa. If you kill four in a single lurk round than die first the next two? negative asset.

    2. You bait your utility teammates as a duelist. Unless your team is wildly going in first, it is YOUR job to buy space after they've laid down smokes and intel. If you slow down mid-push and wait on deaths for info, it's a net loss.

    3. You rotate/retake too slowly or move too slowly to ensure max safety to get kills. This is a net loss to your team. Not only are you baiting your teammates, but also you're getting what we call "Low-Impact Kills". Kills that often do not lead to round wins. Oh you damaged the enemies eco five times? Good job! How many of those rounds did you help the team win? None.

K/D/A is only one indicator. If you want to know how well you're really doing, think about how many rounds on defense your site was not taken or was successfully retaken. Think about how many kills/how much space you bought for your team as you pushed together. It's very possible to drop 20+ kills and had meaningfully impacted less than 10 rounds in a game.

Edit: some people aren't reading. This is "one of many". It is not an all encompassing, and I agree with most of your "KDA can matter too" replies lol.

These new voice call outs are AMAZING

    Posted: 02 Mar 2021 08:22 AM PST

If you haven't played there are loads of new callouts, like when you see people mid Jett says multiple mid, instead of multiple people here. When bomb carrier dies it says spike down B, when you use the wheel to say yes or no, in the chat it says Jett agrees, or Jett disagrees.

I Drew a Happy Sage! (OC)

    Posted: 02 Mar 2021 08:15 AM PST

To all the older players out there, if there is a younger player on your team, (around 12 to 13 kind of age) dont be a jerk to them. be kind and help out!

    Posted: 02 Mar 2021 08:21 AM PST

So yeah, title is pretty self explanatory. many of the people that play this game are 12 to 13, and the older people, (18 to 20) are downright jerks to them. saying things like "shut the f*** up kid" or we didnt ask fetus, or other rude things. so if you see a younger player on valorant voice chat, please. be nice to them and stop with the toxicity.

Is anyone else sad that they took the purple out of the prime 2.0 skins?

    Posted: 02 Mar 2021 08:21 AM PST

Is anyone else sad that they took the purple out of the prime 2.0 skins?

As someone who bought the prime set the first day of Valorant, I absolutely love the skins and was super excited to hear about the extended set, especially because of how faithfully they handled Glitchpop 2, with it having the exact same color scheme. But they removed the purple from the prime skins and now I'm sad. Am I the minority here? Do other people miss the purple?

    Leviathan Melee Concept

    Leviathan Melee Concept

    Hello everyone!

Here is my concept for the melee skin in the Leviathan bundle. As promised I have created an Anchor, a Balisong (butterfly knife), a Fang, and a Trident. There were too many good ideas and I could only make four. Really sorry if I missed some of your ideas, but I will be making more skins in the future, and I will make sure to use those ideas.

Lemme know which one you like the most!

    Leviathan Anchor:

    Leviathan Balisong:

    Leviathan Fang:

With this, my first skin bundle concept is finally complete:)

If we are hiding the ranks in game should we not hide the act rank badges as well

    Posted: 02 Mar 2021 11:59 AM PST

While I think that hiding the act ranks while in game is a step in the right direction. IMO leaving the act rank badges is basically the same thing. Most people do not change drastically during the course of an act so you can still use that badge as a proxy of their performance. The judgement that happens before games with other players ranks now just won't be regarding their current rank but what they ended with last act, which could be better or worse, but is contradictory to what removing the ranks was supposed to do in the first place

Allow viper to pick up her smoke, or give her two.

    Posted: 01 Mar 2021 05:51 PM PST

Seriously with the release of astra who is able to pick up 5 stars and recycle them, it seems absurd that viper can't even pick up her smoke which is infinitely harder to place and requires line ups to even use properly.

Viper is so far behind every agent and it's just frustrating as a viper main to be on the bottom of the teir list for so long.

    Too many ICEBOX matches

    Posted: 02 Mar 2021 02:20 AM PST

Is it just me or is everyone having a crazy amount of icebox games, maybe it's just the Bahrain servers but in the last day or so I've gotten about 20 out of the 25ish games I've played. I don't hate the map or anything but it's starting to annoy me.

Astra + Sage is the most annoying combo to exist.

    Posted: 02 Mar 2021 08:48 AM PST

God this grav + slow is the bane of my existence. Cant slow push, cant rush, fuck this. Astra could be half way across the map, and sage could have a line up, I hate this.

    Is Unrated Truly Unrated?

    Posted: 01 Mar 2021 10:01 PM PST

Me and some friends (3 stack) played in an unrated game and was the first game ever that we can confirm we played against a radiant (confirmed by friending player, radiant 170 in NA.) We had a Brimstone that never bought a single ability and his friend (2 stack) confirmed that it was the first game of Valorant he ever played.

So someone in the top 1000 players globally played against someone who has literally never played before. Either unrated MMR is not a thing, or its broken.

    Prime 2.0 Karambit knife skin

    Posted: 02 Mar 2021 01:51 PM PST

I think it has to be addressed since majority will be misslead by the fact that Level 1 and an upgraded version has different animations on the skin. I'm really disappointed myself that infact better looking and sounding upgraded skin has worse "pull out" animation since I believe everyone wants the spinning animation and the thing is, people won't know about it until the mistake will be done and there is no way to comeback into unupgraded version.. it's basically lose-lose situation, the spin had to be on upgraded version and that would be my top 1 melee...
