Hot take - Breeze is a fun map

    Posted: 14 Jun 2021 09:19 AM PDT

Since Breeze came out, I've seen a lot of complaints leveled at it, and it's starting to get old. Most of them are complaints about the number of angles and the length of certain angles in the map.

Players say that the map is too open and that they have to check too many angles when rotating or pushing onto a site. But I'm gonna be real here and say that Breeze is really damn fun to play and (though I'm by no means a game designer) a really well designed map.

Yes, there are a lot of angles throughout the map. Yes, there are more huge open spaces on this map than all of the others. As such, it's a shame that there aren't any agents who excel at cutting up the battlefield and blocking off certain angles so that you can push onto and lock down sites more easily... oh wait, there are!

I feel like a lot of the people complaining about Breeze are the people who are completely unwilling to play controllers. Most of the people that I've interacted with, who don't like it, somehow expect the devs and map designers to adapt the maps to their playstyle rather than themselves adapt to new maps. I think Breeze forces teams to run at least one controller and ideally 2, which is something that isn't really necessary on any of the other maps.

I personally enjoy the change of pace, and the fact that Breeze forces players out of their comfort zone, and to play differently than they're used to.

Idk, I'm just spitballing here to be honest. If anyone disagrees and really does have some serious issues with the map, let me know, I'd love to talk about it.

    New Knife Skin Concept: Fist

    Posted: 14 Jun 2021 09:58 AM PDT

    New Knife Skin Concept: Fist

Alot of you have probly seen that there is many cool knifes in valrant. However, one of the most requested ideas in the whole game is that people want riot to let us use our FISTS instead of knifes. Then instead of sliceing up your enemys, your alowed to PUNCH them.

Here is some of the main reasons why people wana add fists in valrant:

Number #1: some of the agents is pretty weak (Like yaru who got very skinny legs and probly needs to go to the gym) so they get tired very fast after carying around alot of extra weight. When they can use there fists, then they wont have to cary a knife.

Number#2: Many of you agree that in real life, its AWSOME to PUNCH people when they are not looking. Sometimes valrant can be boreing so it would be way more fun to punch your enemys in the face.

Number#3: Alot of knifes cost alot of money, but becuse your not useing a knife anymore, then it cost zero dolars to use your fists and you can still look COOL without takeing out another mortgage on your house to buy the new skins

Now , especialy for the newer skins , riot has been adding alot of cool special features to make you wana get it. For example the "Tether realms" melee weapon you actualy got a sword with a knife at the same time, the forsaken skins are evil version of sovergn skin, and the dragon skins automatically allow you to file for bankruptcy.

The "Fist" skin got a even cooler concept: if your teammate is being anoying, then your alowed to PUNCH them. This would be very useful becuse especialy in some high elo game (Like me where im rank: Iran 2 ), then you could team kill them if they say a sware or comitting identity theft.

Overall, this would be one of the coolest knifes in the game, and the only bad thing about it is that nobody would wana buy anymore skins from Riot becuse this one is to awsome. Here is what it looks like in game:

    Skins Rotation

    Posted: 14 Jun 2021 08:12 AM PDT

We all know how awful the current skins rotation is, you could wait months and still never get the skin you want, not even close.

My idea for an obvious improvement of the shop would be to assign every day of the week for a certain weapon type.

There are 7 categories of weapons in the game and 7 days in a week, so...

    An example:

    • Monday: Melee (Knives)

    • Tuesday: Sidearms (Classic, Shorty, Frenzy, Ghost, Sheriff)

    • Wednesday: SMGs (Stinger, Spectre)

    • Thursday: Rifles (Bulldog, Guardian, Phanotm, Vandal)

    • Friday: Shotguns (Bucky, Judge)

    • Saturday: Machine Guns (Ares, Odin)

    • Sunday: Sniper Rifles (Marshal, Operator)

This would be a better alternative to the current shop's rotation and would allow the players to get all categories of weapons in a single week no matter what.

    Thoughts?

Why can't people stop asking for skins when I don't want to drop or share.

    Posted: 13 Jun 2021 10:50 PM PDT

Istg, dropping skins for randoms is like the most annoying thing in this game. If you have a popular skin, good luck playing the game in peace. For me, every single game I have kids screaming at me for skins and when I refuse they proceed to talk trash about me and my gameplay.

I myself liked dropping skins when I first got them because I thought not everyone can get skins so yk, I'll just drop one every now and then. But then they get really annoying and demand that I drop skins every single round, and if I don't then I'm just being "selfish". I have had people just whistle at me at start of round for skins and it feels so freaking degrading for some reason. I feel bad saying this but I have no obligation to drop my skins which I bought with my own money. Whoever complains abt someone not dropping a skin should grow up.

Still, if sometimes some teammate is super nice and asks for a skin every 4-5 rounds then I gladly drop for them. But those who start talking shit about me when I don't drop or try to sabotage me just to get the skins are nothing but sore losers. I've legit had people throw molly/nade at me for the skins.

People need to stop asking for skins every single round, it's hella annoying, if someone says they don't want to drop, leave it and don't ask again. A lot of players will drop skins if you ask nicely but if you keep bugging then, slowly but surely they will grow reluctant for dropping a skin.

    Still no block player feature?

    Posted: 13 Jun 2021 11:36 PM PDT

So this act I dropped back down to high diamond from immortal, and the player base at these ranks in my experience have been severely toxic. Just a few minutes ago I queued with an insanely toxic Jett that I never wanted to see again, however next game she is on my team again. There needs to be a block feature to prevent this because I'm sure I'm not the only one. I understand not being able to block every single person you queue with but surely there can be a way to implement this.

The biggest reason I see people lose clutches just comes down to giving the enemy info

    Posted: 13 Jun 2021 09:33 PM PDT

People think they are bad at clutches because their aim sucks, while your enemy having better aim than you definitely contributes to losing a clutch, game sense is more important. If you are trying to clutch, especially a 1v1 here are some tips:

-Hold shift as much as possible, the less info your opponent has the higher of an advantage you have

-If you are going to fake plant or fake defuse dont immediately make a footstep noise or they will realize. I see this literally every game.

These are really the main two points. Just stop making so much noise and giving your enemy your exact location, i see this time and time again in literally every fps, not just Valorant.

    New to Valorant, worried

    Posted: 14 Jun 2021 03:02 AM PDT

    Hi!

I've been trying to get back into gaming recently and decided to give Valorant a try. It seems fun and I'd like to play more. I do have worries though, especially because this is a game where I have understood you need to talk a lot to teammates. This hadn't been a problem if not for the detail that I am a girl.

I'm not a huge gamer, I just like video games. This is not ideal because the amount of harassment you get as a girl increases the less experienced/good you are at gaming. I'm not going to get into it a lot but the bottom line is that playing online video games when you're a girl gets you a ton of harassment and I don't want to be harassed.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I would love to get some insight into the community. Is it very toxic? Have you encountered cases where girls get cursed out in voice chat? And if you're a girl please share your experience! I want to know if it's worth it at all to get into the game.

What's the worst ways you've lost a game?

    Posted: 14 Jun 2021 08:09 AM PDT

Mine was when my team had to retake a site 4v5. 2 people on my team died and I traded their lives when we were taking the site back and our Reyna was slow flanking main. I killed 2 more people and got traded by the guy in main and our Reyna kills the guy in main from behind with his flank. Great retake with like 20 seconds left to defuse. We were all cheering in voice "nice" "good job" all that mumbo jumbo you say to hype up a teammate when they clutch.

Reyna proceeds to go to the spike and stare at it. We thought he was just being an ass to the enemy team by wasting time and defusing at the last second. Nope, he said he couldn't defuse. Come to find out later that he unbinded his plant/defuse key. It's defaulted to "4". I don't even know what you are binding to 4 to unbind it. Needless to say, this killed all morale, pretty much 0 comms after this round and we lost the game afterwards.

Oh, and I would like to say we were up 10-3 before this round happened. Then we got reverse swept.

So what was the worst way you lost a game?

PSA: Being a loud elephant by not shift-walking is one of the most tilting things you can do to your teammates.

    Posted: 13 Jun 2021 12:40 PM PDT

I actually don't think I've come across this in any other FPS, but holy shit the amount of times I'm lurking and one of my teammates cuts me off from a different spot, but within the same side of the map, clomping around like they're playing the drums with their feet is fucking insane. I'm lurking, you're an elephant, despite the fact that you're not right next to me, their Omen now knows to look in the direction I'm about to lurk.

Now I'm halfway across the map lurking in a terrible position because your shift key is broken.

    Please, please stop.

    Valorant Sensitivity

    Posted: 14 Jun 2021 11:13 AM PDT

My current sens is .45 and 800 DPI which I know is pretty average. Most pros say that you should be able to comfortably 180 with your sens but I found it difficult to 180 without lots of movement. Is there something I'm doing wrong since most people can 180 with this sens yet I feel like I have to move a lot more than I should be

    How is the fps worse?

    Posted: 13 Jun 2021 07:32 PM PDT

I swear I had more fps before this so called optimization patch of 1%. Teamfights and viper kills my fps. They really just need to focus on doing optimization patches instead of changing meta or something. Even when I am watching a streamer they drop down to almost 160 fps when they have god pc. This is ridiculous I hope next patch they bring out some big optimizations for this game or this is stupid
