    Replication vs Spike Rush

    Posted: 16 Jul 2021 05:40 AM PDT

Idk if anyone feels the same as me but I think Replication is a much better game mode than Spike Rush and I'd like to see Spike Rush added to the rotation of game modes and Replication made the permanent one, Replication is the only short game mode that I feel I can have fun with and not get too annoyed at. Having constant rounds with a shorty or bucky when Jett can just grab an ult orb and use knives isn't fun at all.

End of Battlepass token to select a skin.

    Posted: 15 Jul 2021 05:37 PM PDT

Thoughts on RIOT adding some kind of token at the end of a battlepass that allows you to purchase any specific skin you would like from the store. Not getting the skin for free, but simply allowing you to pick the skin without having to wait for it to cycle into your shop. I've wanted a specific skin for awhile now and have yet to see it in my shop. This would allow people the chance to get specific skins if they missed them from bundles or whatever but still making them earn it. It would also be another reason to buy the battlepass!

Watching my radiant coach play unrated in my account gave me a new perspective on "bad" teammates

    Posted: 16 Jul 2021 07:30 AM PDT

When you're low elo like me, there's two ways of thinking: a) I'm stuck because I'm bad and b) I'm stuck because my teammates are bad.

I'm the first. I always blame myself for dying. Like, Bind, I pass through the teleporter and die and I instantly think I've made a huge mistake and I was dumb and shouldn't have done that.

So, I hired this radiant coach. He got top 20 in Radiant. He's a pro player. He played unrated in my account. In the mini map, he saw Brimstone peeking hooka. No one there. He asked if hooka was clear. Brimstone said yes. He passed through the tp. Phoenix was there behind a corner waiting to kill him. This phoenix was like, silver and killed a radiant (if only he knew lol)

Viper kept placing her wall in a very, very bad way, that prevented him from getting info and kept giving the enemy advantage. He told her not to put it there, told her where to place the wall to help the team, and she kept doing for a while. He died more than once because of that wall.

The game was very, very tight at first, even with a radiant playing against people who were clearly not higher than gold, winning 95% of his duels.

I think it's important to keep this in mind. Sometimes your play doesn't work because of your team, and it doesn't mean it's a bad strategy and you shouldn't do it anymore. However, you're not stuck because of your teammates, because regardless of these bad teammates, he still managed to work with his team and play with them, he communicated with them, managed the game, told them how to correct what they were doing, and in the end the game became so much easier. Of course this comes from a pro player, but nothing he was doing was out of this world, he wasn't playing like he does in his games.

So yeah, sometimes your teammates are lost. Help them or you're also a bad teammate lol

Edit because people think it would take a radiant to win this: he wasn't playing radiant level. He was teaching me positioning, skill use, etc. He wasn't playing to win the game, he was showing me stuff I could do with my level of skill (he watched me play a few games and he knew how good I was). If he was trying to win, he'd have done over 50 kills easy. He was also trying to teach me how to play WITH the team, telling me how I could talk to them. It wasn't "a radiant who struggled because of his teammates", it was a radiant showing me how I can work with any teammate.

50+ round game ended in FORCED DRAW

    Posted: 16 Jul 2021 08:30 AM PDT

    Game summary: https://imgur.com/gallery/nBHd6LT

Everyone was dc'd in round 52 and the game ended in a draw, we were up 52-51 (odd number) in a 5v2 about to finally win, this was played in OCE.

We all joined a custom lobby afterwards and laughed about, couldn't believe thats how the game ended.

RIOT Really needs to add loadout customization in the game

    Posted: 16 Jul 2021 09:29 AM PDT

Going back and playing CS:GO made me realize how bad the "collection tab" really is. With the battle pass and bundles most of us have multiple of the same skin, we should be able to use multiple skins for the same weapon in the same game.

For those that didn't play CS:GO, you are able to: 1. Randomize what skin you start with every round 2. Have different skins depending on what side you're on (C/CT) (Attacker/Defender)

I believe both of those features should be in Valorant, as well as the ability to randomize what skin COLOR gets picked whenever you buy it. So you could have the Green Oni one round, Red Oni on another etc.

If this gets implemented I'm sure we would need some sort of favorite skin system, so we can choose what skins are in the shuffle pool. But hopefully they add the specific color variants as separate things we can favorite, so we don't have to use skin variants that we bought, but aren't a fan of.

Thanks for coming to my TED talk

What’s the point of placement matches?

    Posted: 16 Jul 2021 06:25 AM PDT

On mobile so sorry if the formatting sucks.

I started playing a couple of months ago, around the start of Episode 2, Act 3. This was my first tac shooter so obviously I sucked. Won my ten unrated and did my five ranked placement matches. I lost all five. Placed Iron 2. Honestly better than I expected. I was sure I'd be Iron 1. Played a lot since then and I've gotten better. Nothing crazy, but just natural the more you play the better you get kinda growth. It felt good to actually see myself getting better at the game. Still finished the season Iron 2. No problem, it's not like I was grading ranked like crazy or anything.

Two days ago I finished my last placement game for the Episode 3, Act 1 season. I won all five games this time. I wasn't going crazy like top fragging every game or anything like that but I was almost always at least top three on my team, top five in the game. It felt really good to do that much better than last season. I was so excited to see how I'd place after going 5-0 especially after going 0-5 last season. I was placed Iron 2. Exactly the same as when I went winless. Felt super deflated when I saw that. Real bubble burst moment.

So honestly what's the point of the placement games if they don't seem to matter if you win then or lose them? Is this just an Iron thing? I really don't get it. Thanks for reading my story anyone who did.

TLDR: went 0-5 last Act got placed Iron 2. Went 5-0 this Act also got placed Iron 2.

Why is my level so low.

    Posted: 16 Jul 2021 12:58 PM PDT

I have been playing valorant sense November and have loved the game. This recent update my level was surprisingly low level 30. I have 2 full agent contracts and 3 full battle passes complete. I think that I should that I around level 60-100 but I am not. My friend is new to valorant and he level 15 I have played with him for most of his matches. Why is my level to xp not adding up.

    Unrated is currently so fun

    Posted: 16 Jul 2021 01:31 PM PDT

In the last three days, I have encountered more Diamonds and Immortals on my opponents team than Silvers/Golds.

Party queued as a Bronze 3, Silver 1 and two Gold 2. Our fifth person (rando) was Platinum 1 and we go against a Diamond 3. Results were absolute annihilation.

Just now I had a wonderful game where we queued the same as before plus a Platinum 2. We got to go against an Immortal, Diamond 3, Diamond 2, Gold 1 and Silver 2.

How the f* is this even close to balanced matchmaking?

People need to understand that toxicity is not going to make someone play better.

    Posted: 15 Jul 2021 09:58 AM PDT

I just played a game where I was on 4 kills after 4 rounds, and then I got trapped in baths (Bind) and was getting shot at on the other side by 3 people. My team planted and walled over near Teleporter and somehow all 4 of them got taken out. I literally couldn't do anything and I went baths from the start. I actually didn't even think about the wall and plant. I was just thinking of taking site from a different angle to them. So this guy says to me well played, like I did something wrong. And then I said yeah I was held in baths by 3 people, awesome yeah and someone else says nahhh. So since that point, I got another 4 kills for the game and ended on 8.21.

It's like my motivation just completely shut down. We actually could have won the game, as it went 10-13 so it was close. But after these guys started hanging crap on me, I just had this feeling inside me that I don't care if we win or lose. I wasn't throwing, as I do want to rank up, but I think I was just mentally not in the game due to these comments. I was just playing a lazy game style just running around doing whatever... Not really staying quiet, lurking, nothing. I just couldn't be bothered trying.

So at the end of the day, the people talking crap to me, made themselves lose. I was Raze, so I could have easily popped off for 20 kills if I was feeling the love. So anyone reading this post, just remember the next time you just hang crap on someone for no valid reason... you are destroying a little bit of that person's will to win and it could be the difference between a win and a loss. I understand if someone is deliberately throwing or doing silly things round after round. But if someone makes an error, just accept that they were trying best they could. There is no need to criticize people over their actions in one round.. Usually the person feels embarrassed enough because they know that everyone is spectating them.

So people are allowed to afk as long as they keep reconnecting?

    Posted: 16 Jul 2021 09:51 AM PDT

People are avoiding afk penalty just by disconnecting and reconnecting every round.... is it that hard to detect someone standing still for 6 rounds straight?

I've had it happen 3 games out of 6 now.

    Question to throwers

    Posted: 15 Jul 2021 11:37 AM PDT

What do you gain from 4 stacking and bullying the other player for 13 rounds while the other team edges you on? What do you gain? Does no one love you?

Do you find it gratifying to ruin other people's precious time who just want to have fun?

On that note, Val really needs to add anti-team griefing like in CSGO ~ it's real nice to have your one match of the day ruined this way.
