Petition to petition against stale memes being used as voice lines

    Posted: 07 Jun 2020 02:10 AM PDT

So recently there's been posts about having ridiculously embarrassing voice lines added to certain characters. These voice lines stem from stale memes that died.

I don't now about you, but Valorant really isn't the game for that. It's not supposed to be a gimmick. It's not supposed to be comical. It's not supposed to be a "meme".

Now that Valorant is accessible to everyone, and not just people who participated in >2 hour streams in order to get a key, it seems like the Fortnite community is trickling over with their gimmicky gameplay.

Call me a killjoy, but Valorant really doesn't seem like the game to feature things like this.

Don't take the title seriously, it was just following the format of the posts in question

EDIT - My issue isn't with mildly comedic ones. If you read the post, it's with the dead memes. I personally love characters like Raze and her quirkiness with her voice lines. Like when she's moaning to Brimstone that she can't listen to music. Voice lines like that add to the character development which is pretty much essential in a game which has no storyline. I just find it stupid that people want dead memes added to the game.

EDIT 2 - I'm not slating Fortnite for its gimmicky gameplay. Fortnite is a game widely enjoyed by children and teenagers. So when they have meme dance moves and emotes such as flossing and dabbing, it appeals to the community as it's a younger audience who finds this sort of content funny. I didn't think Valorant shared the same audience as Fortnite, therefore I don't think that memes as voice lines suits the game.

Reduced movement when getting shot is a little too much

    Posted: 07 Jun 2020 12:14 AM PDT

As the title says, when you start getting shot you can barely move an inch to save your sad ass from a Odin user spraying you down.

One annoying scenario that happened with me: I take a frenzy round one and and slow push to site, hear a Phoenix set the ground on fire, I wait for the ability to wear off, and immediately jump out of the corner and take him down. Then, a sage comes out right after I killed Phoenix and starts spraying her ghost, I take out my knife (because theres only 3 bullets in my gun) and try to run away but she finally hit a shot and now I'm just frozen, waiting to become a spectator.

Now I have to say, I'm all for this mechanic. I think it's pretty cool, but it just feels too over tuned.

Edit: (Quite a good amount of people are saying this and I want this to be seen.) People are saying that certain guns should not slow you down as other guns and I think it is a great idea. For example, a Ghost should not slow you down as much as a Sheriff, because logically, a heavy gun that shoots fat bullets should have more impact than a faster shooting gun with smaller bullets. Same thing should apply with Spectre/Vandal. Spectre is a sub-machine gun, which should not slow you down as much as a heavy assault rifle like the Vandal. Another thing that people agree on is that wall banging should not slow you down as much as getting shot point blank. I recently saw a 4K wall bang with an Odin and it wouldn't have been possible if you weren't to become a turtle when someone is pew pew from another end of a brick wall.

Cypher should get an assist if a teammate kills an enemy who was caught in a trap.

How can Sage revive someone without a soul?

    Posted: 07 Jun 2020 01:52 AM PDT

I wonder if i am the first one to think about this however i think this is a very valid question. Rayna steals and consumes the souls of the Agent's she kills as confirmed by Cipher: „She can only steal our souls if she kills us" however no matter if a soul was stolen or not Sage can revive the person without problems. This makes me even more suspicious of Omens quote „the life that you give, do you ever wonder where it's taken from?" this could be a hint that Sage dosn't actually get Souls back into bodys but rather creates new once to fill the empty husks of her dead teammates, and basically creates life.

This Might be The Longest Shock Dart Clutch in the History of VALORANT

MMR / Skill Levels are all over the place, and it's getting REALLY annoying.

    Posted: 07 Jun 2020 07:52 AM PDT

On top of the extremely annoying map pool which apparently consists only of Ascent right now, the MMR is abysmal at the moment. I keep getting matched with 1/2 very strong players on both teams and the rest are almost always clearly new players (some even seem to be completely new to fps). The result is a scoreboard where the top two players of both teams have 30+ kills and the bottom three are 5/18 or something like that.

While i get that they reset the ranked MMR i am pretty sure i read somewhere they would keep unrated MMR untouched to make the experience as enjoyable and "balanced" for everyone.

Right now the situation isn't fun for anyone; i was personally diamond in beta and it's not fun nor productive for me to run down new players just as it's not a fun experience for them to play their first matches against more experienced players.

I believe this is a critical issue that needs to be addressed as soon as possible because it ruins the fun for everyone involved.

Anyone else feel unrated MMR is completely broken?

    Posted: 07 Jun 2020 08:07 AM PDT

I don't know what algorithm is being using to rank players but it ain't working for me. I have been strictly solo queuing since Valorant released. I get the part that everyone is new and learning the game. But most games I'm losing is while being team MVP with 20+ kills whilst my teammates cannot even touch double digit kills. Not a single game I have got a teammate who is a decent player whilst opponent feels like I'm facing 5 stack who spend half their day on customs. My solo teammates don't even know basics of playing FPS. Poor crosshair placement, no clue about site control or playing for intel, shift walking 90% of the time etc. I have never been toxic to them because I know they're new players. Just want equal matches where I get teammates of my level🙏

Give some sort of XP reward based off of Combat Score

    Posted: 07 Jun 2020 05:23 AM PDT

So with all the battle pass fiasco about needing 4 games a day for 2 months to have a CHANCE (might not have 50% WR, might not end 13-8) of getting it , i think it'd be nice if Combat Score was rewarded in someway via XP.

As of right now Combat Score is one of the nicest ways i've seen of scoring players in all the shooters i've played, rewards entry frags, multiple kills in rounds and even just damage done, i think it'd be pretty decent if we got some sort of combat score x2 (maybe x3) as an extra at the end of the game.

This way it wouldn't be just the people with time in their days to get the 4 games in, but it'd also reward average to good players by getting it faster, and those who don't have time to get the games in to be able to obtain every tier in the battle pass.
