My left hand has 4 fingers so I can’t play without togglewalking

    Posted: 15 Jun 2020 08:45 AM PDT

Hello, I was born with 4 fingers so gaming has always been interesting for me, however the option to togglewalk makes it very much possible to play this game without feeling like I'm bringing my team down.

The new patch for some reason made that option not work so now I get flamed everygame for not shifting.

This is a basic mechanic of the game so I was hoping for a quick hotfix. However it has been almost a week since this patch came up and I'm still unable to use it.

Will we have to wait until next patch for this to be solved? Is togglewalk just going away?

Edit: so many of you are trying to help and empathise with an issue that doesn't affect you that it's making me emotional :') tysm

Edit 2: loads of people are telling me to change the mouse buttons, so just fyi my mouse has 2 extra buttons but they are both already being used (this is usually how I manage to game). And yes I could change my settings to something not as preferable but more functional, but Rioters have stated that this will be solved eventually so all that work might be for nothing. Hopefully thanks to you guys this will bring more attention to the issue and it will be solved sooner than later.

    Edit 3: https://twitter.com/RiotZiegler/status/1272633656587063296?s=19

A rioter just said this on twitter!! Thank you guys :)))

There’s something wrong with hit registration.

    Posted: 15 Jun 2020 01:40 AM PDT

Sometimes headshots register as body shots, sometimes weapons don't do the correct amount of damage for the distance of the engagement you are in. Sometimes the opponent just melts you from body shots before you can react.

The beta felt smoother than whatever is going on with hit registration at the moment.

I have a consistent 16-18 ping a game. No network indicators have been present so far. No packet loss.

Hey everyone, It's been hectic, so I haven't had a lot of time to post. To answer the biggest question: rated (competitive mode) will likely be out some time next week. We're spending this week putting together that release and making sure it is good. =)

Vandal vs. Phantom time to kill

Vandal vs. Phantom time to kill

A table and graph of the necessary time to kill a person in Valorant with bodyshots only comparing the Vandal and the Phantom at relevant distances. The numbers have been determined when hip-firing at full spray, with every bullet hitting the enemies torso.

    https://preview.redd.it/8xqozpong2551.png?width=957&format=png&auto=webp&s=ee8f5606269ae330c49999e1990b0ca45f77d1a8

    distance [m] 100 dmg Vandal [s] 100 dmg Phantom [s] 125 dmg Vandal [s] 125 dmg Phantom [s] 150 dmg Vandal [s] 150 dmg Phantom [s]
    0-15 0,3243 (3 shots) 0,2727 (3 shots) 0,4324 (4 shots) 0,3636 (4 shots) 0,4324 (4 shots) 0,3636 (4 shots)
    15-30 0,3243 (3 shots) 0,2727 (3 shots) 0,4324 (4 shots) 0,3636 (4 shots) 0,4324 (4 shots) 0,4545 (5 shots)
    30-50 0,3243 (3 shots) 0,3636 (4 shots) 0,4324 (4 shots) 0,4545 (5 shots) 0,4324 (4 shots) 0,4545 (5 shots)

The Vandal is always faster to kill at the longest distance of 30-50 m, but interestingly it is also faster at dealing 150 dmg in 15-30 m. In all other scenarios the Phantom is faster.

What happened to Riot's community engagement and transparency from Beta to now?

    Posted: 15 Jun 2020 04:50 AM PDT

I remember pre-release, Riot were effervesnt in their desire to keep their community in the loop with both what they were excited about implementing and the challenges they faced. Maybe it's a natural consequence of the launch, but that relationship feels much more muted and didactic. While the lack of competitive is a big factor, I think a lot of apathy is being generated by the community feeling like it's no longer a two way conversation,

I'm sure if you go through Reddit threads there is the occasional reply from a Riot account here and there, but nothing to the volume and significance that the conversation took on in Beta and I think the desire from the community to engage in return has suffered as a result.

If your teammate is walking, you should walk too.

    Posted: 15 Jun 2020 09:08 AM PDT

I cannot stress this enough. I've just lost a game where the majority of round losses came from the enemy hearing us. The enemy team doesn't even have to be overly coordinated to know if they hear footsteps, they will ask for support.

In ranked you will be facing more coordinated teams, so just keep this in mind as it can sway the tides of the game dramatically. If your teammate walks, you should too.

Agent contracts should progress faster if you're actually playing the agent

    Posted: 14 Jun 2020 02:19 PM PDT

The XP creep post tier 5 is actually insane. Even with the addition of weekly missions, as well as fast game modes like Spike Rush, it still takes hours of grinding to even progress half a single tier.

It's been a frequent topic to increase XP gain. Whether its through increasing daily missions from a measly 2,000, to giving more post-match, allowing more XP gain by playing the actual character the contract is active for would be another easy solution.

Some ideas to help increase XP gain:

    1. Playing the agent will provide additional XP if that said agent's contract is active
    2. Increased XP for hitting milestones on the agents (ex: blind x total enemies with Reyna's Leer, etc...)
    3. Increase daily mission XP reward from 2,000 to 4,000+
    4. Add more daily missions available. 2 is not enough
    5. Add more interesting daily missions. More engaging challenges like "Get x kills with machine guns/rifles/snipers/shotguns/pistols" would at least make the grind less mind numbing
    6. Make Spike Rush reward more than 1,000 XP by incorporating the same XP bonuses as unrated (kills, matches won, etc... give XP on top of the already existing 1,000 XP)
    7. Winstreaks (both for rounds or overall games) give bonus XP. Would encourage competitive players to play more games as well
    8. Additional XP gained per kill. Would also encourage more players to perform better (or excite competition if that's the goal)
    9. Additional XP for MVP
    10. Create more game modes that offer variation of gameplay so grinding games is less boring. Overwatch has a great example for an initial system with their weekly rotations that would reward lootboxes per 3 wins.

Will add to the list if people have more ideas!

Why is everyone so quiet now?

    Posted: 15 Jun 2020 02:09 AM PDT

[NA] I don't know if it's just me, but I remember in the beta theres usually atleast 2-3 people who are in voice chat every game, but now, there's literally no one, I think 3 out of 10 of my games have someone in vc) and some of them are not even joined in voice chat. I mean, there's the pings on the map and the voice lines when seeing an enemy, which are actually helpful, but it's best to just call it out in voice rather than typing it in chat, telling where the enemies are after 3 seconds of seeing them. I understand some people aren't very comfortable when talking in voice, but atleast join the chat to just to listen for callouts. :)

Edit: I guess ranked, casual players, toxicity and people who don't want to deal with the toxcity were the answers! And I actually just noticed this. Thanks commenters

In the DUELISTS cinematic, Phoenix lost the fight by not healing himself

    Posted: 15 Jun 2020 03:30 AM PDT

In the short movie, you can see Phoenix getting hit by one of Jett's kunais, and removing it a 0:35

We all know that it does 50 damages, considering Phoenix bought a Vandal and a armor and Jett being in eco since she have a ghost (0:15 sounds, 1:25 visuals) she headshot him for 105 at short-distance

Just before being hit by the ghost, phoenix HPs should probably be around 84hp and 16 armor

Being hit by the ghost makes a total of 155, which kills him. If he healed himself, he wouldn't have died, but, he had no fire wall, no hot hands (used in Jett pursuit).. BUT, the clip misses one thing, the firewall should be up from where he started to throw it, making him being able to heal in his fire before the arch/entrance

tl;dr : phoenix should heal himself for 15hp evenmore if enemies are in eco

thanks for joining my ted talk and my atrocious english

Each agent has thier own gun skin, right?

    Posted: 15 Jun 2020 08:31 AM PDT

But what if each agent also had a knife skin unlockable through their contract? I think that this would be an awesome reward for the agent contracts. This is because, while the gun skins are cool and all, I play Phoenix and never use the frenzy so the Phoenix frenzy skin is kind of useless to me. But everyone has a knife so I think contracts should have agent knife skins in them.

Currently the contracts build up to the agents gun but it would be cool if next 'season' (if valorant will have seasons) the contracts had an additional five or ten levels with different sprays and buddies as well as a knife skin. This way if you really enjoy a specific agent you can build up a large collection of sprays, buddies, and skins.

Just some thoughts I had let me know what yall think.

This is a great subreddit being plagued by a bad mindset.

    Posted: 14 Jun 2020 07:08 PM PDT

Just wanted to rant a little.

The game is barely 2 weeks old not including beta and a lot of things are confirmed to be in the works that everyone here is upset about. I absolutely love browsing this subrerdit as it's my favorite game right now but everyone here is bringing this place down.

    So just a reminder.

You are gonna get your death match mode. You are going to get competitive games. You are gonna get cool affordable skins. You are going to get issues patched. You are going to get cool things like spike rush(which is a great mode but your all gonna complain cause it's not DM)

No amount of posting the same couple of issues is going to change that as you have already been heard. During beta I would see riot comments all the time and they have begun to slow down because you are all circle jerking how upset you all are over issues that will disappear soon.

People here say they hate clips but I'd rather have that then deal with the same issues being posted about that already have an answer which is this.

Please be patient. This is a great game now and it's going to only get better from now on. This game is being given a lot of love by the Devs and it's crazy to me how we are the ones ruining the game for ourselves

    Ranked coming next week

    Posted: 15 Jun 2020 12:07 PM PDT

We can buy Radianite points with Valorant points, why not enable us to do the opposite (even if for a lower exchange rate)?

    Posted: 15 Jun 2020 11:11 AM PDT

Right now, I have 1580 Valorant points and 100 Radianite (I bought the 2150 point package during beta) and only got the battlepass for now.

Since all the good skins you are able to upgrade cost at least 1750 Valorant points, I will never have enough points to buy one of those skins without spending even more money (and even with the cheapest package, I will have like 200 points sitting in my account that can buy nothing). On the other hand, thanks to the battlepass, I'm sitting on so many Radianite points which are pretty pricey in Valorant points.

Why can't we use those points to get some Valorant points back, even if the exchange rate is much lower than the price to buy these Radianite points?
