The performance based ranking system is biased towards duelists and against supports

    Posted: 01 Jul 2020 04:25 AM PDT

I like playing as sage and playing at the back to support my team, despite having pretty good aim and knowing I could pick up a lot more kills if I played a duelist. But I'm more of a team player and like to ensure the best odds of my team winning by playing a role I now how to fulfill well. However, I can't help but get annoyed at the fact I won't ever climb as fast playing sage as I would playing phoenix, purely because I'm meant to be playing at the back of my team. A performance based system is great, if it worked properly. Using kills, deaths, and damage as indicators of how well you performed is illogical in a game with support roles. Especially when getting damage and kills at the start of the round (so initiators of fights) are worth more than damage and kills at the end of the round.

The number of enemy players affected by your abilities should count towards your performance, with different abilities weighted differently to help combat this bias. Players are already able to see how effective their ability use was at the end of each round by seeing how many players their abilities affected, so it makes sense to use this as a performance measure.

Edit: People seem to be misunderstanding what I'm saying. I'm not suggesting that you are trash if you come top of the scoreboard as sage, and that if you play her you shpuld never be top fragging. I'm saying that your team is not working optimally if the sage is at the top of the scoreboard. That place should be for the agents like Raze or Reyna. Sure, sage can come top if the rest of the team is much worse than you, but in a game where everyone on the team is of equal skill and the sage is still top fragging then there is a problem. It is easier to top frag as a duelist than as a support.

Does anyone else lowkey get Brim and Breach mixed up

    Posted: 01 Jul 2020 10:10 AM PDT

Idk maybe it's just me, but both of them look kinda similar. Their purposes in a match are somewhat similar as well. Even their names both start with a "br" so ya I get them mixed up a lot.

[EXPLOIT] Omen can see Cypher place his utility during his E even in the buy phase

    Posted: 01 Jul 2020 06:53 AM PDT

    https://reddit.com/link/hjalei/video/ii36prck39851/player

This can be used out of earshot of the traps being placed or even during the buy phase and allows Omen to see exactly where the enemy Cypher has placed his utility. This is an issue with the glimmer effect created by Cypher's utility when it becomes invisible.

Thanks to u/imhypelol for helping with testing.

Unpopular Opinion: Nobody on this subreddit wants to hear about how you had abusive teammates.

    Posted: 30 Jun 2020 04:27 PM PDT

I've seen many posts describing some douchebag on the mic yelling and screaming, as well as trying to micromanage their teammates and tell them what to do and how to play.

I get that it is frustrating to have bad teammates screaming at you over comms, but nobody wants to hear about how you had to deal it.

All you have to do is mute them and if they are affecting your gameplay by attempting to hurt you with their abilities, just report them and deal with it until the next game.

There are also plenty of discord channels to find good, friendly teammates. So please, stop posting about how you got matched with a douchebag.

Edit: I understand that some people see this as a popular opinion. The reason I said it was unpopular was because nobody else has posted about this topic. Either way I think people should stop posting about their shitty teammates.

Small Omen QOL suggestion - Let us choose our default view for smokes for those of us who prefer the old view

    Posted: 01 Jul 2020 07:49 AM PDT

I know you can switch by activating the ability and then hitting R but it doesn't save between games or even when switching sides. It also resets to the default during OT which I found out last night.

Instead of being mad because I lost, I should ask myself “why did I lose”

Maybe in the future we can get a replay mode so we can look at the match. I think it would be a great way to learn from mistakes and learn new strats

[RANKED] Solo Queuing Into A 5 Stack Is Laughable.

    Posted: 30 Jun 2020 09:40 PM PDT

Can we not? Like, this needs a serious change. I'm actually kinda shocked this facet of ranked made it out of BETA. Surely we can all agree solo queuing into a 5 stack is complete horseshit yeah?

Knifing in this game is broke.

    Posted: 01 Jul 2020 04:51 AM PDT

You need to be touching the hit box of the enemy to stab them. It's like m stabbing with my chest and now my arms. I know people can get kills with knives but there's almost no reach making it hard if you knife to early or can't close that last tiny gap. Any response about a change to knifing to make it reach a. Little more?
