Anyone else would rather see 6 maps a year rather than 6 agents?

    Posted: 02 Jul 2020 02:09 AM PDT

I feel like the small map pool is the real issue that needs addressing. Yeah there's not a lot of agents or utility in the game either but I've personally enjoyed watching riot fine tune the agents they have to give them all a place in the meta. I'm not a fan of balance and strategies getting uprooted by a new agent so often.

Tips for people who want to improve

    Posted: 02 Jul 2020 05:32 AM PDT

    1. Improve on your fundamentals - Before you hop in a server and look to headshot people, you should probably get familiar with the basic character movement and how everything feels. Once FFA dm is out it's gonna be the playground where you want to work on your movement, your aim, basic angles and just how to work using just a gun and your movement in general.
    2. Guns out in a clutch - There are so many players I see even people playing thousands of hours in CSGO where they get antsy on playing a clutch so they want to flush people out with a molly or put down a smoke they get some cover, but in many situations this actually works against you. The gun is the most powerful tool you have and you should be confident using it if you want to be good in a clutch. If experienced players see a projectile flying over them they will immediately swing and headshot you while you switch back to your weapon, on top of you giving information of where you are.
    3. Loosen your grip and wrist - Doesn't matter whether you use low DPI or high DPI as long as it's not extreme. Just relax your grip and wrist is where you're gonna hit the most shots.
    4. Don't wait for the crosshair when flicking - Kind of unintuitive but eventually you want to rely on muscle memory to flick and hit your shots.
    5. Learn to let go of the Shift key - Walking is very strong in Valorant but again it is also one of the worst habits. You don't become invincible when you walk. When playing vs. good players that can guess where you're gonna rotate from and it's more beneficial to rotate faster than being silent. Sometimes you want to peek wide, sometimes you might want to fake footsteps to going somewhere you're not, but you wouldn't learn the proper timings if you always hold shift.
    6. Learn to use the time to your advantage. There are many elements to this. Let's say you're playing defenders and the enemy is pushing A. Your teammate pushes from B and sees no one there. Your immediate reaction should be to survive as long as possible. Even if you peek and get 1 kill, it might not be worth it. Just by staying alive your enemy has to worry about each angle in the site and gives time for your teammates to rotate. Another case is when clutching, a lot of times in a 1v2 or 1v3 you want to wait out the time a bit if you were seen, to create multiple positions where "you could be". Just by waiting a bit your enemy has to worry about more angles and increase your chance of winning.

Make "No charges left" a team wide callout for sage.

    Posted: 02 Jul 2020 12:52 PM PDT

When she spams E she says "No charges left". Make this team wide for sage.

This would help prevent people shooting at me and spamming need healing when its cd.

Yes, I know people can hit ALT. I keep telling them, its not enough.

A timeout feature is still greatly needed for competitive play.

    Posted: 02 Jul 2020 10:56 AM PDT

The ability to call timeouts is pretty huge as sometimes people need to step away from their pc's for a minute to piss, let the dog out, answer the door, etc. and it blows to have a round where you're basically 4v5 because of stuff like this.

Just have a feature where you can vote to call a 1 minute timeout like once a half or something. Would be super useful and can't imagine its that difficult to implement.

The Kingdom building on split is 363.5% tallest then the currently tallest building.

    Posted: 01 Jul 2020 05:16 PM PDT

so if the pinging system is to be believed if you travel to the top of the Kingdom building on split using ghost and going until it roughly disappears then it is ~3,010m tall and the Burj Khalifa is currently the tallest existing building is 828 meters tall. divide 3010 by 828 and you get 3.63526570048 and rounding to 3 decimal places and then converting it to percentage that gives the whopping 363.5%. So um yea have that knowledge to make you an elite gamer /s

We all know the dogtag buddy from Brimstone, it would be cool if we could see our gaming tag and # stamped on this dogtag. Would be a nice feature, wouldnt it? Also it wouldnt change if somebody picks up ur weapon. There is always ur gaming tag on it. Let me know what u guys would think about this change.

Make Valorant look beautiful with this display setting!

    Posted: 02 Jul 2020 10:08 AM PDT

I'm not sure if this is common knowledge, but I do see a lot of streamers/pro players using this setting or something similar.

I almost feel as if this is the way the game is intended to look. Everything is so warm and bright. The colors just pop extremely well. Let me know what you think!

    Digital Vibrance

    For NVIDIA -

    • Right click desktop
    • NVIDIA control panel
    • Display
    • Adjust desktop color settings
    • Increase "Digital Vibrance" to 75-100%

    Enjoy!

(If anyone has the AMD route or similar settings outside of NVIDIA, please comment!)

    On Immortality: Omen and Phoenix

    Posted: 02 Jul 2020 11:38 AM PDT

    On Immortality: Omen and Phoenix

Heya, today I'll be talking about the lore behind the supposed theories of immortality behind Omen and Phoenix. Yes, I know, a lore post! How rare! Anyways, I hope you enjoy it.

    Let's begin with Omen:

    Omen

Generally, when I've talked with other lorists, the general consensus is that Omen is definitively immortal. Here's the proof. We have his defusing voice lines, "Oh, what's another death?," implying that death isn't much to him and that another wouldn't harm him, and it wouldn't take much to imagine he's implying immortality here. We also have his tier 9 contract card with the same name, "What's another death?"

We also have the oft-quoted voiceline in which he says:

    https://preview.redd.it/kcdrcey0jh851.png?width=704&format=png&auto=webp&s=acae77ad0ac31fdb70037ce9b3a7e2a09d0ac48f

However, it might also be the case that Omen is not immortal. How might we come to this conclusion? Well, we have one Brimstone voiceline where he says:

    https://preview.redd.it/un6yd5dzkh851.png?width=323&format=png&auto=webp&s=a8c05efe959e9fd35470a9f067ce716132814a25

While this implies that Omen might not be human, it also, more importantly, implies that he can be killed. It could end up going either way, so we'll have to see.

    Phoenix

Yes, yes, I watched the Necrit video. I saw the part where he said Phoenix is immortal (also, he ended up saying Sabine isn't Viper, so go figure). I, personally, am here to debunk that not very well thought out headcanon.

I've talked to quite a few people on this matter, and they give me some evidence. The first is this voiceline:

    https://preview.redd.it/lpq02z6qmh851.png?width=681&format=png&auto=webp&s=3846a635c48e34df1af7a9e1e7e36c589233d6ec

Personally, this is a really really big theory to base on one voice line that's most likely just small talk. The other thing a lot of people have strangely said is that Phoenix can ult while he's dead. Not much proof for that.

I'll just summarize what I think in a nutshell.

I personally think Phoenix isn't unkillable, he's just very hard to kill. You can't leave Phoenix to bleed out as he can just ult there. Jett couldn't kill him because he ulted as seen in the cinematic. IF, and this is a big IF, someone soundly and surely killed him (ex 5 point-blank shots into his heart) before he could ult, I don't think he can come back to life.

Thoughts? Questions? Ideas? Let me know down below.

If you want to further talk about lore and mess around with other lorists, I'll put our lore Discord link in the comments.

Thanks for reading, and I'll see you around!

Edit: I understand that the Omen voice lines are a bit contradictory, see my comments below. Thanks for asking, u/Klekto123!
