The amount of detail on the Ruin skinset especially the oni and vandal.... Goddamn is it so beautiful even without animations. Not to mention the damn knife which has its own right click unique animation. Then the Serenity set, which wad the green one. Althougb it's just a plain recolor, they added some ancient language text on the guns and they're really cool as well, just below the Ruin skin sets. Then the Surge set which is absolutely fantastic, 4 cariants with each having its own taste. I really like the grey/silver variant, absolute simplistic. Act 3 bp skins are just better than both Act 1 amd 2 comebined, no doubt about it. [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 09 Oct 2020 06:37 AM PDT Today I would like to answerthe question: are heavy shields worth it? Most of you will instantly answer: Of course! But I am a nerd and wanted to punch in some numbers to find out. So I made an Excel Sheet and wanted to share my findings with you! I first layout how much damage do weapons do at different ranges on each bodypart (legs, torso and head). Then, I calculate how many shots does it take to kill without armor, with light armor, and heavy armor. Lastly, I calculate the delta between the previously mentioned tables. Meaning how many extra shots can you take if you choose armor A vs armor B. I also added a table that shows how many bodyshots does it take to kill following a headshot at all ranges. This is mostly useful for players like me who have a hard time hitting 2 headshots in a row. My conclusions: Heavy shield is not really worth it. For the most common weapons the Heavy shield might allow you to take one extra bullet if you are in mid-long range. I dont feel it gives enough for the extra 600 credits it costs. I will be buying light shields much more often. But of course, if you have the creddits, a heavy shield is better in most cases. ALTHOUGH, this does not take into consideration hits through walls, damage from abilities and other factors you experience during regular gameplay. Notes: These conclusion are my own personal opinion. That is why I have included a link to the spearsheet, so you can look at it for yourself and draw your own conclusions. Besides, I don´t consider myself "good" at the game, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. Weapons without "long range" have the same damage at long range than they do at mid. The same applies to weapons with only "short range", they do the same damge at any distance. You can change the shotgun analysis so that you consider damage per pellet or damage per shot (that is if all pellets would hit the same target, which won't happen realistically). Short/Mid/Long range distances vary for each weapon. I did not include the distances in my spreadsheet because they aren't revelant for what we are trying to analyze. I was inspired by a video by Rouge9 from Rainbow 6 Siege to do this myself. He has very good videos but I feel this one was a bit incomplete and needed updated info. I dont want any attention for it, you just need to know to understand my story. So, today i had a total shitshow of day. I laid in bed, had zero energy and wasn't even able to cook for myselfe. Later on the evening, i sat infront of the pc, watching my favourite streamer. Luckily, i had valorant opened in the background, and a notification ringed through my headset. I got an invite from a stranger to join her lobby. To be honest, i wasn't really up to playing games, but since i got invited i thought i might just give it a try. In the first round, the anonymous girl on the internet just small talkingly asked me how i am. Normally, i say fine, but on the internet i dont really care. So i said im feeling pretty depressed. And after some more small talk, she admitted that she is also struggling with mental health issues. This started an about 2 hour long conversation, where we chatted about how we were dealing with our disorders, and how suprisingly matching our disorders are. She was so nice to me and it really lifted my mood. Just wanted to share this here, to let you know not everyone is toxic on the internet and you shouldn't be aswell. Thanks, Sakura! | For those saying that Skye's Aussie accent is too exaggerated Posted: 08 Oct 2020 08:52 PM PDT There are 3 different dialects of the Australian accent. The 'Broad' dialect is spread throughout the Country, but it is most common in rural areas. So it can sound strange to a lot of people who aren't familiar with it. For example, this is why Steve Irwin's accent can seem unrealistic and exaggerated. Skye's voice actress is a native Australian, but her dialect falls under one of the other 2 dialects, so she is faking the Broad dialect. However, it is not that inaccurate as you can see from the examples provided below. Example of a Broad Aussie accent that is very accurate to Skye's: Julia Gillard, Former Australian Prime Minister https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCNuPcf8L00 This Aussie in an interview https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9QCgqQdmr0M&t=6s Here's a video on the 3 different dialects of the Aussie accent. Around 2 months and every time I get to gold 3 I get matched with a lot of platinum ranked players. Honest to god the majority of them either don't communicate, until I do something wrong and then they get toxic and blame me for losing a round ( because I die when they are already dead spectating me) and/or they instalock agents without even seeing what anyone else wants to play too! They also have no interest in playing together they have huge egos and just push hard on defence. In gold this isn't my experience at all it seems that these players actually want to play as a team! I know I can't speak for all plat players but I thought the higher in the ranks you get the easier it is to play as a team. Very frustrating. Can you comment on this? [link] [comments] | ||
