    Greetings Agents!

New patch, new Bug mega. To avoid bugs report cluttering the subreddit and/or going unnoticed we will get a single Megathread which will be posted today and after every patch so that you guys can report the various issues in one place. This allows Riot to easily keep track of the bugs by providing a central hub and also allows other users to confirm that they might have encountered.

    Patch notes 1.11

Prerequisites to be noted before reporting a bug

    1. A bug will ideally be accompanied with a screenshot or a video. This provides credibility to your report.
    2. Steps to recreate the bugs should be submitted if possible. This helps Rioters recreate the bug and helps them find the cause behind it.

Format when reporting a bug: When reporting a bug, please provide as much information as you can about your computer.

Region: The region you're playing in when you encountered the bug

Type of Bug: Client Bug, In Game Bug, etc.

Steps to reproduce: Provide the steps necessary if someone else had to reproduce the bug.

Expected result: What should have been the result when you follow the steps mentioned above.

Observed result: What was the result you obtained when you followed the steps mentioned above?

Reproduction rate: If you try to recreate the bug how successful are you in causing it to occur? (1/10 : Occurs once every 10 tries, 5/10 : Occurs 5 times out of 10, 10/10 : Happens every single time)

System specs: Processor, Video card, Ram, HDD/SSD, everything you can provide, even drivers.

    Example Bug:

    Region: EU

    Type of Bug: Matchmaking

    Description: Matchmaking doesn't work properly

    • Insert Video / Screenshot of the incident

Reproduction rate: 10/10 (happened 10 out of 10 times)

Steps to reproduce: Try to launch a game

    Expected result: Match starting

Observed result: Getting stuck in infinite queue

System Specs: Intel i5 Processor, Windows 7, Nvidia Graphics card (insert model number) etc.

If you don't know how to format comments on Reddit click here

    - **Region:** - **Type of Bug:** - **Description:** - **Video / Screenshot:** - **Steps to reproduce:** - **Expected result:** - **Observed result:** - **Reproduction rate:** - **System specs:**

Copy paste the above code and fill in your details.

From this Megathread the list of bugs will not be summarized and put up in the main body of the thread, however note that many Rioters are going through every single comment so don't worry if you post the 1500th or 3000th comment, every reply will be read over the next few days.

Why dont people's pings show up on brimstone's smoke map?

    Posted: 01 Nov 2020 10:57 PM PST

It would be super helpful to show pings from other people on brim's smoke map. That way I dont have to close the smoke map, open the regular map to see where the ping is, and then open the smoke map again.

    Being encouraging/kind in Valorant

    Posted: 02 Nov 2020 08:31 AM PST

I'm really shy so it's hard for me to compliment people IRL, but on Valorant, I like to be nice to people since it makes the games more fun and everyone feels better in competitive environments that can be toxic. Mainly, treat others how you want to be treated, but I just thought it'd be nice to share what I specifically do:

    • Whenever teammates pull clutches, aces, etc...I bombard them with comments like "legendary" or "you're so good" or just "OOOOOH." It sounds obvious to celebrate whenever this happens, but even when your team just win a round in general, I like to say "nice job" to encourage the everyone.
    • Type "nt/nice try" every single time a teammate is the last one standing and fails to clutch because it acknowledges their effort and also lifts off the pressure of not being able to win a round for your team. I know that for me, whenever someone tells me "nt," I feel encouraged even though we lost that round because it lets me know that they appreciate the effort even though I suck, and I don't feel judged or blamed for losing the round.
    • It always sucks when the enemy team gets an ace, but when they do, I congratulate them with a "nice ace" anyway, simply because it's nice to do. It's always cool and exciting whenever someone gets one, so I like to celebrate it with them as much as possible.
    • Whenever someone starts flaming a player for performing badly whether they're on your or the enemy's team, I try to encourage them with words like "don't listen to him, you're doing fine." IMO, it's generally better to address the person getting flamed than the flamer because it incites less toxic drama and still gets the message across that it's not okay to be mean.

Lastly, this is a more personal thing that I like to do so feel free to ignore this part, but:

    • Occasionally when a teammate is bottom-fragging and requests a gun, I'll buy it for them even if I might not have sufficient funds to buy for myself that round. Of course econ and investment is important in the game, but I know that I appreciate it whenever someone buys me a gun even though I'm not a very good at Valorant, so I like to do it for others too. Obviously this applies more to Unrated matches than Comp since you're risking less.

I know that this post is just mainly stating the obvious and that I probably sound pretty naive, but I think that kindness is important everywhere, even in gaming. So yeah, let me know what you guys think!

Temporary chat ban should be a temporary game ban

    Posted: 02 Nov 2020 07:36 AM PST

It's not fair for your to-be teammates that they're missing out on important comms from a player who's too toxic to communicate.

If you're not mature enough to not rage, you're not old enough to play the game - and your teammates shouldn't be punished for that.

    EDIT: Thanks for the award!

How Luminosity came back from 0-11 down vs Andbox to win 13-11

    Posted: 02 Nov 2020 09:14 AM PST

Hi, I'm Spin and I coach a Valorant team in Europe. I've done some previous vod review and meta analyses on youtube but those have all been fairly long videos. I thought with the number of games that have been played in the past week I'd do some shorter vod reviews highlighting the most critical rounds.

The first is on the Luminosity vs Andbox game on Haven where Andbox led 11-0 before losing13 straight rounds to Luminosity, this was obviously a great comeback and showed how important momentum can be in Valorant.

Luminosity played a very active style of defence which I think is necessary for success on Haven. Here's a brief summary of the things they did which are covered in the video:

    • Luminosity took map control on defence without overly taking risks or playing particularly aggressively.
    • Doing so gave them a lot of information and allowed them to read and correctly set up for Andbox's executes.
    • Being well set up for each execute meant they could either stall a push from Andbox or retake quickly before Andbox had time to establish strong post plant positions, allowing them to win the critical rounds and keep Andbox's economy broken.

    Thanks for reading/watching!

A CHANGE FOR THE COMPETITIVE RANKING SYSTEM - Probability Promotion System

    Posted: 01 Nov 2020 10:20 PM PST

A CHANGE FOR THE COMPETITIVE RANKING SYSTEM - Probability Promotion System

    The Ranked System Is Broken.

We all know this. We have played games which should have been a 1 arrow in either direction, but end up being 3. We have felt the frustration, and we have tilted over being hardstuck. We need a ranking system which ENGAGES the audience, and which drives IMPROVMENT in your skills.

    Cue the probability promotion system.

This system was built using the following tenants:

    1. Clarity over Ambiguity.
    2. Rewarding Progress.
    3. Teamwork.

    THE SYSTEM:

One day, Cypher decides to try the competitive game mode. He plays his placement matches, and ends up in Iron 3. Not a bad place to start for a new competitive player. Once ranked, he plays a match - and loses. He keeps on rolling, and wins the next two. Loses two. Wins one. Loses, wins, loses, wins.

A week passes. He is still in Iron 3, and decides he'd rather not play competitive - he was just going to stay in the same rank anyway, right?

    BUT WHAT IF...

Cypher checks his career tab. He sees that glistening Iron 3 rank, complete with 3 shimmering stars. What's this below it though?

    https://preview.redd.it/9nk944frkrw51.png?width=1371&format=png&auto=webp&s=9c98888702690a1ce13ecc19df5dfce525c81ba2

The little yellow line tells him that NOT ALL IS LOST - he is gaining towards his next promotion. He isn't close to being demoted. Cypher decides to practice his skills - he researches more, finds mentors, and finally earns his promotion. Throughout the process, he goes on a losing streak. His bar ends up looking like this:

    https://preview.redd.it/jfovhib6lrw51.png?width=1219&format=png&auto=webp&s=90a84d52022ca8de7a38dcd82525b3c0483114cd

But he is not discouraged - a win moves that bar towards his goal, and he can show his progress. His BEST MATCH is highlighted - something for him to progress beyond.

    [ Green - Increase Percent \\ Red - Decrease Percent \\ Yellow - Promotion ]

(\Side Note: I didn't want to remake or copy the act rank tab, but yes that would still exist)*

    CALCULATIONS...

    • Valorant is a team tactical shooter. Your individual performance factors in to the calculation, however it's only about 30% of the equation.
      • 30% Individual Performance + 70% Team Performance
        • Note: The rank calculations could also be determined on a queue basis - are you in a five stack, or are you solo queuing? Five stacks would be expected to perform better as a team, whereas solo queuing would weigh individual performance heavier. The reason this is only a note is the notion of competitive integrity
    • Team Performance includes:
      • Rounds Won vs. Rounds Lost
      • Group Economy - are buy requests being fulfilled, how many assists do you have, etc...
      • Team Aces, Thrifty, etc....
    • Individual Performance includes:
      • Economy Rating
      • K/D Ratio + are you killing someone of a higher or lower skill
      • Aces, Clutches, etc...

    THOUGHTS..

It is impossible to assign a specific value to each of the up and down arrows. Three arrows - a variety of scenarios. In this model, there's a simple + next to a win, and a - next to a loss. This indicates whether you increased your probability, or decreased it. Each game would show how heavily you impacted the score within the details screen.

"Probability" is used rather than "Progress" very intently. Progress would indicate that you're X percent away from the rank, when in reality the game is more complex than that. You are never a specific percent away from a rank - you are a performance away. PROBABILITY indicates the percentage that you would rank up in your next game. In the instance above, there is a 48% chance, meaning that it is unlikely that you would promote, but it is not impossible. Your progress is indicated by the percentage.

Rather than having a negative percentage for a promotion, there's also a demotion percentage. This indicates how likely you are to be demoted in the next game.

While it is unlikely that it would ever be 0%, it would have to be notated as "Probability to Rank Change: 0%" or something similar - as you would have absolutely no chance to promote, and no chance to demote. When you promote, you're also moving the bar towards the rank after, so it should never get to 0% - but it is possible.

    WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Please spam me with questions below.

Disclaimer: I am not a game developer, I am simply a player who can think critically about what I'd like to see - I know Valorant devs look at this subreddit, and hopefully this will add to their creative juices in fixing the competitive system. GLHF!

High golds and plats are better than they give themselves credit for.

    Posted: 02 Nov 2020 10:01 AM PST

This was something I thought to myself while playing with a friend on a smurf account. Before you get upset, my main is currently radiant and unable to que with any of my friends so I use a d1 account and really just give tips and suggestions as well as igl. I dont just farm and bm.
The reason I say this is because I've noticed, mechanically alot of golds and plats are pretty dang good! They just don't think so because of their rank. For example, there will be a d3 on the other team and the plats and golds will be scared. I try and tell them, the only thing separating you from that player, is most likely knowledge and gamesense, that goes for low imts as well. So just a little reassurance to my gold and plat brothas, youre better than you think, I promise. What I think will help everyone rank up is learning how to look at a match as a game of chess with strategies to gain the upper hand, also don't be toxic and be willing to die for your team to get a kill and open space up. Sorry for the random rant, just bugs me when I played with lower ranks who don't realize how good they can be.

Shoutout to all the random "Bros" I met in my Valorant Games

    Posted: 02 Nov 2020 11:52 AM PST

This is an appreciation post for all of you who are just so chill and so cool in Valorant. I have a few moments when I am feeling down about work, relationships, and just life in general and I'll enter a game alone just to de-stress. Sometimes you get a quiet party that don't use comms, but sometimes you just have the coolest and chillest dudes in the chat that cheer me on and encourage me. You guys let me vent about my problems and give me good advice and push me to go on even when everything is looking bleak. I genuinely feel much better after a game like that, and I am grateful for you guys!

    The Singularity Bundle

    Posted: 01 Nov 2020 08:31 PM PST

    The Singularity Bundle

    Hello Reddit,

As we all have been enjoying the new Singularity Bundle that provided us with some amazing animated skins, I personally have an issue with the Singularity Knife.

Earlier this week I have read an article regarding the patch roll-back and a few other items regarding the new 1.11 patch.

In the article Riot Games has also talked in more detail about the reasoning for doing the back up and answered some questions in regards to the "Costly Skins"

Riot Games doubled down on the steep costs of Valorant skins, which are known for their expensive price tags. According to the game's premium content art lead, Sean Marino, skin sets are "not meant to be 'cheap'"."We don't want players to look at something and say, 'This feels cheap to me'," he said. "Part of what we take a look at for all our skins, and this is sort of a Riot-wide approach, is that we want there to feel like there's a level of effort and care put into skins, or any cosmetic content that people engage with, that makes it feel worthwhile."

The issue I'm having with the Singularity Knife is that the characters index finger goes inside of the knife model and doesn't look normal, and doesn't feel quiet finishes as it was released. Almost like it wasn't tested prior to release, or overseen.

If the skins are not meant to be cheap looking, and there is a level of effort and care been put into the bundle, I feel like players have a right to address the issue like this and ask the developers to fix it, or provide compensation due to an unfinished skin release.

Personally, I think the team who have designed this bundle did a fantastic job. It easily can be named the best bundle to be out yet. All the colors, models, sounds, animations etc, are well put together.

Looking forward to the new upcoming bundles!

    Thanks for reading this guys!

Patch 1.11 coming out very soon for the Americas

    Posted: 02 Nov 2020 09:41 AM PST

You lot aren't reporting suspicious players enough

    Posted: 02 Nov 2020 12:20 PM PST

Take the devs word for it: https://www.sportskeeda.com/esports/the-hacking-problem-valorant-why-cheaters-going-unbanned-riot-s-tactical-shooter#:~:text=%E2%80%9C97%25%20of%20players%20have%20never,by%20fewer%20than%203%20players.

I just got out of a game where my team was hacking. They were stack defending one bomb site in Haven every round, knowing where the attack would come before round start. It was a rare occasion that i knew 100% that they were cheating.

I refused to be part of it. And watching them carefully, I could see that in addition to a wallhack they had no recoil. But if they had aimbots on, I couldnt tell.

I've noticed a lot more of my own team mates cheating and I report a lot. If more of you don't report your own team, then this game is going to get increasingly infested.

From iron 2 to gold 3 in 4 months- what helped me improve and what i noticed

    Posted: 02 Nov 2020 04:02 AM PST

Before i start i just wanna add real quick that i was playing rainbow six siege (300 hours) and cs go (250 hours) before i wasn't very good at it but it definitely gave me an edge. Also i mostly play jett.

    IRON

What i struggled with in iron is teammates going their separate way and playing comp like its FFA the only reason i got trough it was trough some friends who where also iron. What i recommend for this rank is that you learn how to stay still while aiming and learn the maps so you can get an edge on peaks

    BRONZE

I got trough bronze really quick it felt like iron but with a little bit of teamwork and aim. What i noticed is that a lot of ppl use their abiltys more and push more on sight instead of witchhunting the enemy team. I recommend not pushing on defender since i lost a lot of rounds of me pushing attackers for no reason.

    SILVER

Silver is the rank i struggled the most with from smurfs to people who are straight up better then me but this is what i noticed:

    • If your gonna push push together its not wise to go alone

    • use your abilities i can't say it enough i see a lot people not using their ults or smokes/flashes.

What i recommend(optional) is improving your aim to get hit most of your shot. I use the range put the bots on hard and strafe i do this 10 minutes before i play and my aim is improving every day.

    GOLD

Since i myself am in gold its hard to make a review but this is what i noticed: this is the rank where people can aim really REALLY good. I'm still improving everyday but i feel like if your gold not pushing on defenders and pushing together is really important.

Well that was kinda my guide its my first one so sorry if that didn't help you ill definitely improve the next one

Viper can do one way wherever she wants

    Posted: 02 Nov 2020 11:07 AM PST

Basically i can do one way anywhere. I can also make smoke in the sky and let the orb fall instead of planting the spike to be combined with snake bite afterwards, this is huge

    * to make it clear, this is a bug, I posted on the corresponding topic but I also posted separately because it is like an insane buff for Viper and I think it fits as "game breaking, meta changing"

**The second time the smoke is activated at the place where the orb fell

    Breach Fault Line Change?

    Posted: 02 Nov 2020 11:07 AM PST

In patch 1.11 I've noticed there was a breach change with his fault line. I'm just wondering if this change was intentional because I don't see anything in the patch notes saying it was.

The change is basically before patch 1.11 breach's fault line no gap line that stuck enemies. Now there's a gap at the start of it. Here's a video showing the gap.

    Proof: https://lowkey.gg/v/fc7b42c0-e255-448e-864e-5e1ea5248647

I don't have any footage of me using breach's fault line before patch 1.11 but I'm just wondering is this intentional because this is quite frustrating because you would have to back up a bit to stun the person right in front of you.

I don't know if it's just me, but left hand mode just looks off

    Posted: 02 Nov 2020 08:54 AM PST

I've been watching streamers like Aceu and Wardell play with left-handed mode and it just looks very off. I played a bit of CSGO before (like 5 or 6 hours) and I had left-hand view enabled on that, it looked fine to me. But something about the left-handed view model for valorant is just off, I can't place my finger on it tho.

Enemy Player Icons on the minimap in Patch 1.11 show up as the same color as your own.

    Posted: 02 Nov 2020 10:46 AM PST

I have my enemy player color set to yellow because it's easier for me to see, but with the new patch it also changed the icons on the minimap to show as the same color. My own icon on the minimap also shows up as yellow so it's pretty confusing and makes me think they're on my team. I'm sure I could get used to it over time but was wondering if there was a way to change it back to the original red to make it more clear.

Educational Phoenix Video in Ranked Solo Queue by a Radiant player, this match is in Immortal

    Posted: 02 Nov 2020 11:07 AM PST

    Heyo!

Noizeeh here bringing you an educational video where you can see my thought process through the game with text on-screen, the video will be linked at the bottom of this post!

This match is being played on my alternate account and I've solo queued on my main to radiant.

I solo queue a lot and I feel like I have a lot of things to share with all of you who want to improve. If you're Immortal/Radiant already then a lot of this stuff will be obvious to you but there's probably a thing or two to learn.

In this match I'm playing Phoenix, taking on the IGL role because I quickly realised that my team was talkative and that they were willing to listen. This doesn't always happen since every team you play with is different every match you play, but whenever this happens, I do my best to IGL.

The main thing that I focus on when playing Phoenix is to create enough space for my team on attack whenever we hit a site on the map, and on defence I focus on finding the impact frags that will help us securing the round. Phoenix is also a great clutcher thanks to his healing abilities.

The main mistake that a lot of Phoenix players make, including myself, is that they focus on using their utility too much and what happens is that you get caught while trying to use an ability, instead of just focusing on aiming/positioning.

Really hoping that this video helps, and let me know if you have any feedback! Thank you for your time :)
