    Greetings Agents!

New patch, new Bug mega. To avoid bugs report cluttering the subreddit and/or going unnoticed we will get a single Megathread which will be posted today and after every patch so that you guys can report the various issues in one place. This allows Riot to easily keep track of the bugs by providing a central hub and also allows other users to confirm that they might have encountered.

    Patch notes 1.12

Prerequisites to be noted before reporting a bug

    1. A bug will ideally be accompanied with a screenshot or a video. This provides credibility to your report.
    2. Steps to recreate the bugs should be submitted if possible. This helps Rioters recreate the bug and helps them find the cause behind it.

Format when reporting a bug: When reporting a bug, please provide as much information as you can about your computer.

Region: The region you're playing in when you encountered the bug

Type of Bug: Client Bug, In Game Bug, etc.

Description: Describe what was the bug that occurred.

Video / Screenshot: Insert screenshot (F12 in game) or Video of the bug occurring.

Steps to reproduce: Provide the steps necessary if someone else had to reproduce the bug.

Expected result: What should have been the result when you follow the steps mentioned above.

Observed result: What was the result you obtained when you followed the steps mentioned above?

Reproduction rate: If you try to recreate the bug how successful are you in causing it to occur? (1/10 : Occurs once every 10 tries, 5/10 : Occurs 5 times out of 10, 10/10 : Happens every single time)

System specs: Processor, Video card, Ram, HDD/SSD, everything you can provide, even drivers.

    Example Bug:

    Region: EU

    Type of Bug: Matchmaking

    Description: Matchmaking doesn't work properly

    • Insert Video / Screenshot of the incident

Reproduction rate: 10/10 (happened 10 out of 10 times)

Steps to reproduce: Try to launch a game

    Expected result: Match starting

Observed result: Getting stuck in infinite queue

System Specs: Intel i5 Processor, Windows 7, Nvidia Graphics card (insert model number) etc.

If you don't know how to format comments on Reddit click here

    - **Region:** - **Type of Bug:** - **Description:** - **Video / Screenshot:** - **Steps to reproduce:** - **Expected result:** - **Observed result:** - **Reproduction rate:** - **System specs:**

Copy paste the above code and fill in your details.

From this Megathread the list of bugs will not be summarized and put up in the main body of the thread, however note that many Rioters are going through every single comment so don't worry if you post the 1500th or 3000th comment, every reply will be read over the next few days.

Has anyone ever delivered on paying you to clutch?

    Posted: 11 Nov 2020 08:11 AM PST

I've got to say, last night was a first for me.

I came home from work, fired up my old 1080 and went in on some Valorant.

I solo queued doing quite well, until I got picked up by a couple of players. Eventually one of them started offering cash for an Ace to the whole team. Fast forward to the last round of the game (12-11 iirc) enemy team loses a player, stakes loosen a little and a 4k nets me $20.

I've been playing FPS on PC for about 11 years now and this one is a first for me haha.

Has anyone else had luck like this?

Sorry I wasn't recording at the time or I would include the clip, instead here is a screenshot of the money.

    Stop playing with an ego

    Posted: 10 Nov 2020 10:46 PM PST

Although confidence is a major factor that goes towards winning, you will never have a good time by playing egotistically. As a Jett/Omen main that regularly plays in a 3 stack, I see my support players get flamed over and over again. You need to keep in mind that VALORANT is a team-based game, not even a professional player can win against a team with decent teamwork. You are NOT losing because of your teammates, you are losing because of bad teamwork. A good duelist isn't someone that gets a pick, then dies, then proceeds to scream "WTF are you guys doing". A good duelist is someone who can succinctly communicate their play-style and have their support play accordingly to force a pick. If it fails, don't start flaming your teammates, start communicating how you could have played a certain scenario better. I've been playing with my "re-fragger" for years, and I will trust him to hold an angle for me while I peek something else, he could fail 5 times in a row but I would still trust him, because I know that it only needs to work once in order to open a site and gain momentum, and screaming at him isn't going to make him play any better. The trust you place in your teammates shouldn't be broken even if you lose 0-13, because you lose and win as a team for the duration of the match. Sure you may have got match MVP or the highest KD but that means nothing if you lose, every single kill that happens does not belong to you, it belongs to the team. If you are getting match MVP every single game but losing every single game, the correlation isn't that "everyone else sucks", its that you failed to effectively co-operate with your teammates because if you can only win with a team where everyone is perfect then it shows you have no adaptability as an individual player, and you aren't "basically Immortal but stuck in Gold", because that shiny badge on your profile isn't a measure of how good you are at moving a mouse to a head, it's a measure of how well you can play in a TEAM game.

I just got sick of people flaming and spreading toxicity, and wanted to write a post to address this. I hope if anything, this post convinces just one person to play differently the next time they enter a match.

Toxic communication will substantially decrease your probability of winning.

    Posted: 11 Nov 2020 01:48 AM PST

This should be common understanding, but I'm getting so many games where one user makes an abusive comment at another user. And a fight breaks out. And we lose what could have been a total win.

I'm not really talking about a typical gameplay complaint. Like an opinion that somebody did wrong. Sometimes it's using the game as a platform for overt hate speech/racism and gender abuse. But typically, it's standard forms of abuse like verbal abuse, invalidation, and emotional abuse at teammates. Most commonly the need to point out somebody is bad. Sure it might even be correct. But why start that fight? And I can't comprehend how they can think that sort of negativity can be beneficial use of coms to win a ranked game.

I've been in quite a few games where everybody is communicating constructively with each other whether we win or lose. Always the most enjoyable games either way. Then there's games that could be a win, but somebody makes an abusive remark at somebody else. Then the other user throws the game because of it. And often that other user who ended up throwing the game was doing their best, and not actually playing that bad. And we just lose what could have been a win.

Sure, sometimes, there are users who play ridiculously. Often, constructive feedback will help. Sometimes, no suggestion will matter, and they'll continue doing whatever is screwing the team. But at the same time, they may be doing something right. And your suggestion is wrong. If they don't follow your suggestion, just let it be. There's no reason to throw a tantrum or get verbally abusive. Because then, they will outright throw.

I've seen instances of everybody on the team banning together to abuse the thrower. Which never ends well. Ever. And I've seen instances where other teammates banned together, and told the toxic user to stop and apologize so that teammate will stop throwing. And low and behold, that often works. The one acting toxics cuts the crap, and the one throwing starts playing again.

Honestly, it seems as if half of the users don't actually seem to know what constitutes misusing coms for toxic/abusive forms of communication. As opposed to using coms for constructive communication to win. And what blows my mind is the toxics with the mindset that those who prefer constructive communication shouldn't play this game. And toxics should. Rather than the other way around.

TLDR - Bottom line - Just presume users will throw if you say something abusive towards them. You may be right about something. And they may be completely wrong for throwing. But you definitely will not be in the right either if the one initiating the abuse. You're basically asking for a throw game when starting a conflict with a teammate.

Why is the DM gamemode still so terrible?

    Posted: 11 Nov 2020 03:56 AM PST

I feel like the devs really missed the mark on this one. The way the gamemode is setup completely discourages practice and encourages playing to "win" deathmatch, which just ruins the experience for everyone who is trying to practice. I think a great start would be to have DM servers constantly running with a drop-in drop-out model as opposed to a race to 40 frags. This would encourage people to actually practice taking equal or even disadvantageous fights, which is what wins ranked games, as opposed to rotating spawns and shooting people in the back of the head. Every other competitive game I boot up has a good warmup mode, which allows me to focus in on specific skills before I play, but the DM mode here feels like 90% a waste of time.

For the "I get +20 kills consistently but my team is holding me back crowd"

    Posted: 10 Nov 2020 12:33 PM PST

Good job you get a lot of kills, and a majority of them likely have no impact. Maybe you really are a gifted player and the game hates you but I doubt it. If you really are outperforming every match and getting kills then actually take the time to maybe review it. When are you getting kills? How? Are they entry kills that actually mean something or are they 2-3 kills post plant in a 1vX that you lose to time? Too many matches do I see duelists and initiators take a backseat in fights and only engage in the aftermath. Too many times do these same players flame the team for not fragging more and toting their own padded stats as proof of their superiority. Too many times do these same people go and whine about their team. If the constant in a bad equation is you, well then you may very well be the problem.

What I've learned from playing years of competitive fps is that You belong in your rank

Unfortunately I recognize that the people who need to hear this the most are also the ones most likely to ignore this, but I had to get it out there.

    Why the Icebox hate?

    Posted: 11 Nov 2020 08:00 AM PST

Why is there such hatred for Icebox among many?

While I can't tell u to "Get good" or "learn to think" I can tell you just why I LOVE the map.

It encourages thinking, to hell with specific spots that everyone and their mother knows. Welcome the diversity, you finally have the chance to really find your own strats. Study, learn, adapt and overcome. Try an angle and if it's shit, now you know! You get the chance to learn from your own mistakes, not what some guy on YouTube says! Go into custom mode! Look, where can I stand, where will I see them? Where will they see me? What if I throw a nade here or place a trap over there? It's truly unique and different from the other maps and different isn't allways bad!

Despite, how can u hate on it without giving it a true chance. For the people who do like it, for the people at riot putting time into this, Atleast For. Your. Own. Improvement.

Also sorry for possible grammar or spelling errors

Ascent mid shock darts for those pesky peekers on both sides of the map. Defenders shock has leftmost bar line line up with a roof tile and window shadow (both 2 bar charge). Attackers has crosshair line up with the teardrop cloud and bottom of the bar with a ledge(1st 3 bar, 2nd 2 bar charge).

What is the community’s current opinion on flashes?

    Posted: 11 Nov 2020 09:39 AM PST

When Skye came out, I saw a few posts of people complaining that they are going blind from all the flashes.

Now that the patch has been out for a bit, what are your current opinions on Flashes? I personally feel like I am blinded for a good bit of gameplay at this point, especially against Phoenix/Skye/Breach/Reyna all on the same team. I had to take a break from playing yesterday, as my eyes are a bit sensitive, and I realized I am not enjoying the game like I did before Skye came out.

Thoughts? Do you think the Flash style is becoming the new meta? If so, how do you feel about it?

    Thanks everybody.

How to utilise KJ’s alarm bot after nerf?

    Posted: 11 Nov 2020 07:51 AM PST

I've found myself not knowing what to do with the alarm bot on attack. I can place it to watch flank but I'd have to keep on moving it as I go forward onto sites. Also, not many people are flanking now and enemy team comes from back of sites to defend since it's faster.

I could sit there and watch flank, but I either have spike, or it looks like I'm just chilling at a site entrance while my team is getting massacred inside.

Also, on defence, after knowing the enemy team is at a site I'm not defending and pull the alarm bot up, I don't know what to do with it.

Mind you this is unrated, and if competitive I'm in iron.

Two quick things I think would make Viper finally viable and balanced (A tier). TODAY I LEARNED....

    Posted: 11 Nov 2020 01:11 AM PST

1 - Higher DPS on snakebite (thing you throw on the ground for dmg). I actually think you can defuse an entire bomb sitting in one under certain circumstances, half way is easily doable.

Hmm,, apparently it has 24 DPS, which means you can literally stand in one for 7 whole seconds. It takes 7 seconds to defuse a bomb... today I learned.

    IMO: Viper Snakebite DPS from 24 -> 40 (7 seconds DPS -> 4) .

IIRC: Both MOLLY's from Phoenix and Brim both do 60 DPS, almost 3 times more than Viper's SB. Yes they only have 1 and one of them can heal that's why I recommend lower values than the latter.

2 - Enemy can't see her wall lineup till it's activated for the first time. Unique change to make her less predictable, which site she is pushing. This is a minor change that may go along way in higher level play.

Where are the nice and friendly players?

    Posted: 11 Nov 2020 01:15 AM PST

Hey there, I'm sick of derankers, smurfs, trolls, voice banned players, who invite you into their party, as if they weren't toxic, ego players, the tilted ones and the rest of the toxic players. So I thought about starting a discord server with strict rules for all the nice people out there, which are searching for some m8s to play together. Would be for everybody, no matter which age, gender, origin, rank or whatever. Is there demand for this or would I be alone?

    Replay System — Revisited

    Posted: 11 Nov 2020 02:34 PM PST

Ever since the beta, the VALORANT community has demanded for a replay system for future VOD reviews. There have been official riot statements of a replay system coming soon, but has went silent for the past couple of months. It's been nearly 8 months since, and I think we need more updates for what is to come.

I am the Most Inconsistent Valorant Player Ever (VALORANT Tilting)

I am the Most Inconsistent Valorant Player Ever (VALORANT Tilting)

Ok so basically I'm plat 3 cause I tilt easily and am super inconsistent. For instance, the middle two of the games shown we lost the first two rounds so I tilted like a baby and bottom fragged. Yet in the diamond lobbies, I match MVP'd when I got into the grove of things lol. This text is really only here to give substance to my post but I am curious as to whether anyone else has inconsistency/tilt issues. Do you guys have any methods for dealing with tilt or am I just an inferior gamer? aLsO tHe SeCoNd GaMe HaD a HaCkEr

Pushing through Mollies/Smokes, ever a good idea?

    Posted: 11 Nov 2020 11:35 AM PST

Much too often, I find myself in a situation where either I or a teammate pushes a choke, only for a smoke or molly to land, separating the player from the rest of their team. It almost always ends up where the pushed player gets killed, and there is no one to trade as everyone bailed on the push.

What is the best choice in those scenarios? Push through, taking the damage or the viability disadvantage, or have the team pull back and hope the solo player can manage a kill or two? Or should the solo player retreat?

It's pretty aggravating when I have to push as Omen when we have two or three duelists, only to see them get scared off by a Brim molly or smoke.
