Posted: 05 Dec 2020 09:34 AM PST In both the EU and NA versions of the First Strike finals players from both regions have been opting to use the Phantom over the Vandal, the matches are still on-going but from the first couple of games the Phantom is clearly the more preferred rifle. Even the headshot Machine ScreaM who dropped a ridiclious 90 frags over 3 maps in his match vs Heretics opted with the Phantom every single time, despite it not being a 1 shot headshot kill (unless up close). The Vandal despite being buffed a couple times now still falls short vs the Phantom when it comes to close engagements such as taking bombsites and retaking them, it simply isn't viable to use the slower shooting Vandal when the damage output is the exact same up close. Does the Vandal need a final kick to make it on par with the Phantom? 30 bullets instead of 25 perhaps? Higher penetration damage? Posted: 04 Dec 2020 10:10 PM PST So I didn't play Valorant for like 3 days and I came back to play today with my brother (We play in different Laptops) and I just noticed that someone of my team was talking to his mother about some Kitchen problem. At first I thought He was talking while Pressing the Key of Team Voice chat, But I realized that nothing appeared on my screen and even Voice chat had been disabled, so I didn't know who it was. Me and my brother were talking and someone of my team just answered a question that I asked to my brother, we were like "Wtf how he can hear us?" and then He told us it was a Bug and that has been for some days. So me and my brother just kept playing without talking to each other, (which was just weird because we talk while playing). As a fun fact, nobody was toxic. Weird thing happened in an unrated match Posted: 05 Dec 2020 04:45 AM PST I decided to play an unrated before doing some comp, everything seemed normal loading in and selecting agents. Once we loaded in one of my team members started talking - immediately knew something was off as the agent icon and their name didn't show up. I tried talking as well and the whole team was saying the same thing was happening to them - didn't happen to the enemy team strangely. Halfway through the first half we then realized that our mics were actually locked on although our settings were for push to talk making things even weirder. Vandal bursts - wtf am I doing wrong? Posted: 05 Dec 2020 09:01 AM PST New player to Valorant here - though I've played a lot of CS 1.6 back in the day, I kind of skipped CS Source and CS: GO, but seeing as Valorant looked so interesting, I decided to give it a shot. By far my favorite weapon in CS was always the AK47, so I was very intrigued by the Vandal, which seemed to be a 1:1 of the AK within Valorant. However, the feel of the weapon, though similar, is also somewhat different, and I'm having a real hard time adjusting to the burst pattern with the Vandal. Things work pretty well if I tap. Spraying seems to be a nightmare and totally not worth it with the Vandal, even at medium range (though it works pretty decently with the Phantom). However, bursts seem to be useful, but extremely inconsistent. In this clip, for instance: I have bursted the enemy 3 times, to a total of 10 shots (a final shot went out as I died but I'm not counting that one): https://reddit.com/link/k7b2qm/video/9oms8lxaee361/player The 2nd burst (shots 5 and 6) was a complete mess, and I get why that missed entirely, but the 1st (shots 1 to 4) and 3rd (shots 7 to 10) bursts seem to have been fairly controlled, at least in CS AK47 terms. Both bursts seem to have aimed the enemy properly, and started with the crosshair completely closed. Both bursts combined add up to a total of 8 shots. The last shot (number 4) in the first burst clearly missed, but I don't understand how, out of the other 7 shots, only 2 landed. This isn't a "I've done everything right and the game is broken" kind of post, since the shots missing clearly means I haven't done everything right, but I'm having a hard time figuring out what to adapt in this kind of situation. At least in CS, this is the kind of situation the AK excels at: Too far away to be swarmed down by SMGs, and close enough to take advantage of the fire rate. And yet, unless I go straight for the head to finish the enemy off on the 1st burst, I just can't seem to get the bursting down correctly. Can anyone with more experience and knowledge in Vandal shooting help me out? Visual animations are so inaccurate Posted: 05 Dec 2020 10:28 AM PST I've noticed that the 'pullout' animations of weapons in the game is visually inaccurate. I found this in DM whenever I catch someone with their knife out and they switch to their gun, they shoot me sooner than I expect because of the visual animation of the gun being pulled out. It just looks like the character model suddenly snaps the gun up to shoot. It lacks smoothness, therefore lacks accuracy. This is just my opinion but I'd like to know if anyone has seen / experienced the same thing. Other animations would include someone getting off the defuse or while planting the spike to switch to their gun. One Thousand Deathmatches: Part - 0 Posted: 05 Dec 2020 05:47 AM PST Hi everybody. I have decided to do an experiment. How much better would your aim become from doing 1000 deathmatches in valorant? My gaming history: Bought my first PC in may of 2018. Have about 400-500 hours of playtime in CSGO. Highest rank achieved then was MG2. I have been playing valorant since beta. Started out as bronze 2, and achieved d2 in act 1, and got plat 3 in act 2 as I took a 4-6 week break. Valorant Rank: Immortal 2. Overall goal: Play a total of one thousand deathmatches using either the vandal, sheriff, or phantom. Uses of the vandal or phantom will only be 2-round bursts to improve accuracy. I will play 250 deathmatches total, and then play 3 competitive games. This schedule will be repeated until all 1000 DM games are done. So total there will be: 12 competitive matches played, and 1000 DM matches played. Of the first 250 matches, the first 200 will be played with the sheriff only and of the last 50 matches I will use the vandal. This post serves as the basis point for documentation and a benchmark for my overall performance. As of my last 3 games, these are my statistics: Agent: Reyna Game 1: 10 Kills 16 Deaths 4 Assists. 212 ACS. 0.6 KPR. 131 ADR. 22% HS ratio. 2 First Bloods. Game 2: 18 Kills 19 Deaths 11 Assists. 181 ACS. 0.6 KPR. 139 ADR. 19.7% HS Ratio. 0 First Bloods. Game 3: 13 Kills 13 Deaths 8 Assists. 207 ACS. 0.7 KPR. 113 ADR. 15.6% HS Ratio. 2 First Bloods. Schedule: 30 minutes of kovaaks for warming up. Then 20-25 Deathmatches per day. 3 Competitive matches every 250 deathmatches. Once the first 250 deathmatches and 3 comp games are complete, I will post a "Part - 1" post just like this one with updated statistics and anecdotal experiences and opinions on my improvement. One last note: Not everybody improves at the same rate. All practice is not the same. Efficient and focused practice for one hour can be 5-10x better for improving than unattentively and lazily practicing for an hour. I will not be using my headset during DM and will likely be playing music in the background as I do not want to rely on "sound-whoring" as many players do during DM and will be relying solely on mechanical skill as I believe that is the best way to increase it.
