I don't know if someone discovered this before but I found this easy Viper lineup in Icebox.

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 07:23 AM PST

Why do people want such a high player count in Deathmatch? What do you learn from getting constantly shot in the back?

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 01:48 AM PST

Like I get it — DM is not about winning or losing and respawn times are low so what does it really matter if I get killed from off screen, right? But I just don't understand the sentiment here.

In my mind the player increase from 10 to 14 has absolutely ruined this mode. The spawns are so goddamn terrible that easily 80% of the time you will get shot from behind or the sides while taking a duel with someone else. Even if I win, I'm dead. If I get lucky I can finish the duel in front of me and turn around to shoot the other guy too but the game is obviously designed in a way where turning around is a huge detriment and you're not supposed to make 180° spins.

So why have people always been asking for more players? And why do they want respawn times to be even smaller? For a mode that's supposed to help me practice shooting it sure doesn't emulate the shooting of the actual game at all.

In a sample size of 8 accounts, this was the Night Market results for me

In a sample size of 8 accounts, this was the Night Market results for me

    https://preview.redd.it/3toyxbv0bv461.png?width=1665&format=png&auto=webp&s=847db6e0c7bdb21997c83d8a208dc2594350fbdd

So I asked a couple of my friends to send me what they got on their night markets just to see what combinations exist, I ended up getting a sample size of 8 games for some data.

    Weapon Collection:

    3 sovereign

    6 galleria

    2 aristocrat

    7 avalanche

    3 prism

    3 sakura

    9 rush

    5 prime

    4 luxe

    3 convex

    3 oni

    Weapon Type:

    5 knife

    5 classic

    1 ghost

    3 frenzy

    1 shorty

    3 sheriff

    2 bucky

    0 stringer

    7 marshal

    2 judge

    4 spectre

    1 ares

    3 bulldog

    3 guardian

    2 vandal

    5 phantom

    0 odin

    1 operator

    Multiple Occurences:

    4 Avalanche Marshal

    3 Rush Frenzy

    3 Rush Phantom

    2 Rush Bulldog

    2 Prime Axe

    2 Galleria Classic

    2 Sakura Classic

    2 Galleria Bucky

    2 Galleria Marshal

    Skin Tier:

    21 Blue

    8 Red

    14 Green

    5 Yellow

    Sale numbers:

    5 at 10-15%

    3 at 15-20%

    12 at 20-25%

    7 at 25-30%

    9 at 30-35%

    8 at 35-40%

    2 at 40-45%

    1 at 45-50%

Numbers on specific percentages will be added to the lower one

ex: 15% discount will be added to 10-15%

My sample size for the night market skins is only 8 different shops. However, using that data I think it is safe to say the following. It is likely that in your shop you will find a rush skin, a marshal, at least 2 blues and at least 1 green, and at least 1 red or yellow, and ~3 sales at 20-35%.

The most common gun skin was the avalanche marshal, blue tiers were the most common, the most common sale was 20-25%, the marshal was the most common weapon type, the Odin and stinger were not common occurrences, the rush skin line was the most common.

None of these accounts have any skins on them at the moment, so rest assured from that. If you want to send me your night markets make sure they don't have any non-battle pass skins on them.

Edit: I removed the first night-market from the sample size because that account already owns a few skins.

    CYPHER post-plant One-Ways

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 06:39 AM PST

    Hello fellow cypher mains/enthusiasts,

I heard you guys liked one-ways, so I put together a couple of post-plant scenario ones to hopefully help you snag some easy kills and hold off those weirdos trying touch your spike. Remember though, these are VERY situational/gimmicky. Don't go into a site thinking about using these every time. Make sure its safe to do so first. Use them at your own risk!

With all of these you want to use a cam or a trip to help you time the cage pop perfectly.

Also, I am not an editor, so I just streamed myself showing how to do them and clipped it. Please don't mind the quality of the clips :/

    Haven A CT entrance

    Haven C Garage entrance

    Bind A UHAUL/LAMPS entrance

    Split A Screens

    Split B CT entrance

    Ascent B Stairs

    Ascent B Lane

    Ascent A Heaven

Thanks for watching and hopefully with this extra tool in your cypher kit you will be able to win more rounds and impress your friends. Also, if you do impress your friends, what is that like? Does it make you feel happy? Let me know!

Bonus: This shows how powerful cypher is on post-plant situations!

Which spot on Ascent A site is called 'Shroud'?

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 05:37 AM PST

Yesterday during 100T's match on Ascent, they kept referring to some spot near the mechanical door on Ascent A Site as 'Shroud'. Does anyone know which spot it is, and why they call it that? Did shroud make some crazy play there, and if so, is it on youtube? Thanks.

From Iron 2 to Gold 1, I'm very proud of myself

From Iron 2 to Gold 1, I'm very proud of myself

I've been playing this game for months now and this is my first FPS game, I never tried CS:GO before. I was Iron 2 back then that I was very frustrated that I can't even make it to bronze. I can use a full clip and not kill the target, that's how bad I was. Now I've been playing seriously and I can say that I can already place my cursor very well, also my positioning is improving and I can 1 tap sometimes using Vandal. I am very proud of my progress, not the highest rank in the game, but I'm proud being in Gold 1.

Phoenix fan art I finished this week!

Started this drawing about 2-3 weeks ago, and I packed in about 25-30 hours into it.

Been playing a ton of Valorant lately and it got me inspired to get back into drawing again.

    Hope you like it!

On Christmas, Riot should open up the store to every gun created

    Posted: 12 Dec 2020 11:25 PM PST

It's a Christmas miracle. No, but for real. Every single person here is going to get some money (hopefully) including myself. If every skin comes back to the store even for a day, or a two-hour window, I'm sure it'd be the highlight of the majority of the player base's holidays (given everyone is alone at home with COVID destroying America).

TL;DR Be p dope if Riot did x-mas miracle and let us buy any skin ever

Is bullying lower rank players a Valo thing? Or just all online competitive shooters?

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 07:10 AM PST

My wife and I just started playing Valo two weeks ago, never played any CS:GO, and her first shooter ever was Warzone which she started about 9 months ago - so safe to say Valo was a totally unique game to both of us. We also both sucked off the bat (the depths of Iron 1), and are still Bronze/Silver but at least climbing.

We have a nice comeback in a game when we were Iron, down 8-2 at one point, and my wife just posts clips of the game to TikTok cause it was a fun win. Suddenly, here come all the "pros" going out of their way just to say mean shit about how low the rank must be and blah blah blah about the clip.

I go through and delete the douchey ones cause she has anxiety and doesn't need the negativity in her head. But seriously, did I miss the part where every other Valo player was a suddenly pretentious, asshole radiant coach? Or is this just every competitive gaming community thinking they are all super good?

Let the Irons, Bronzes, etc have their fun and post their clips - go fuel your need to be an insecure jerk somewhere else, ain't nobody making you watch the videos.

The Gamemode Valorant Needs - SITE RETAKES!

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 12:12 PM PST

    Site Retakes/Site Holds:

One team plants a bomb on one of the sites. The other team is spawned spread out halfway across the map and needs to retake the site and defuse the bomb. The T sided team spawns on site but should have enough time to hide or get to some unexpected spots forcing the CT side to check every angle. The CT side should have enough time to split up and coordinate a proper retake on the site. A great way to practice a situation we encounter all the time in matches. Best of 7 rounds or first to 5 wins.

Abilities would be enabled but you might not spawn with all of them still available. This should be random since it uncommon to take a site without using any abilities yet. Maybe everyone can have a short buy period before each round starts. Some rounds should be pistol rounds, some should be full buy rounds.

This is something from Counter Strike that was a great way to practice real situations over and over again that I think Valorant could benefit heavily from adding. Look up Site Retake Servers if you want to look more into the idea. It is like a structured DM so the practice you do get from playing should be more effective towards making you a better player. This is also a great way to practice using your abilities together which deathmatch does not give you the ability to use.

    Frags aren’t everything

    Posted: 12 Dec 2020 07:46 PM PST

I noticed a lot of players in the gold rank struggle getting past fragging out to win a game. At a certain level of gameplay, frags become much less significant. Team play is the single most important aspect of the game. Players past platinum and into Diamond will have great aim. You will need to do more than get kills to win those games. Coordination between every agent and communication between each player is integral to winning the match.

This is where the onion can really be peeled back to the many levels of S and D gameplay. Some strategies and agent compositions are just stronger than others. Knowing your role on the team, depending on which agent you lock in, is huge. It's so much more in depth that just frags.

So if you are that guy who is raging at his team because you are "carrying", dropping 30 kills, but have provided nothing to assist your team with winning rounds... I encourage you to look deeper into your gameplay. Work with your team and play smarter as a TEAM member.

EDIT: I'm glad this is getting a little attention. I'm hoping some people who needed to read this will look deeper into their own play to grow past the frag wall they are stuck behind

EDIT: Thank you for the awards!

Are we ever getting official lore?

    Posted: 12 Dec 2020 08:39 PM PST

Like the Universe site League has (and the comics, upcoming novel and animated series, etc). I know most players of this kind of genre don't care much about lore, but dang, I'm super interested in knowing more about the world of Valorant, specially considering the cryptic voice lines from some characters and all the details we've gathered so far (the First Light, radianites, Viper's past, Omen being a walking talking question mark, etc). Has Riot said anything about this?

Weapon skin idea - be able to use multiple skins in-game for any given weapon by getting a random skin from your collection each time you buy.

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 08:18 AM PST

If you have multiple skins for each gun, you would have the option to select however many of those you would like to use in-game. Every time you buy the gun in-game, the gun will be randomly skinned from that pool of selected skins.

    Pros

    • If you already own a skin or multiple skins for a gun, you won't feel as bad about buying another Battle Pass or another skin that came out that you really like.
    • This is ideal from Riot's perspective as it will give players more incentive to keep buying weapon skins even if they already have one or more for a given weapon.
      • Players will have incentive to form a collection of weapon skins that they can continue to build because they can use all of them in each game

    Cons

    • RIP our wallets

So yeah I'm basically trying to give myself a reason to buy future Battle Passes because it's fun but I am discouraged because I'm a cheap-ass and already have at least one skin per gun so I feel guilty spending more $ to get more skins when I know I am only going to use 1 per game and the old ones will go to waste since I rarely cycle back through to my old skins.

Got to immortal 1 but I don't deserve it

    Posted: 12 Dec 2020 03:57 PM PST

I solo q and got immortal today. I switched to playing kj and cypher yesterday or something and won like 5 games in a row and got immortal but I didn't do great in any of them, my team won but I didn't do good at all mostly getting middle to bottom of the leader board. To make it feel even less earned getting into immortal my rank up game was a 13 0 win in which the enemy never came to b site where I was playing and they had an afk and a super toxic player so they had basically lost from round 1, I only died twice that game but only got like 8 or 9 kills. Ever since becoming diamond I rarely top fragged even when playing duelists and I somehow scurried my way into immortal. I don't know if I started winning more games because I was playing kj and cypher well in the sense of gathering info for my team to execute on. As a player I am very inconsistent and it can vary round to round. I think at my skill ceiling, when I'm playing my best, I am immortal but when I'm playing how I do most of the time I'm not even sure if I belong in diamond. I don't want to ruin the experience for other players due to me being bad but at the same time I don't want to throw to derank as that would also ruin it for others and I also want to get better at the game. Any tips?

Things all of you need to hear

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 09:25 AM PST

So I've been playing this game since the beta and there's a glaring amount of basic stuff that people need to hear:

    1. There's an attacking side and a defending side. There's one objective on attacking side: Plant the damn spike. That means not throwing away in spawn, not let it sit and stew on mid, dont run around with it if youre not planning on actually visiting A, B or C.

1,5. Attack as a team. There's max 3 players on one site at a time, unless there's an unique situation. That means that going together gives you a two player advantage. That is good.

    1. The Operator costs 5000. It's also a one shot kill. It's also really useful. If you see it on the ground after the round is over, just pick it up.

    2. Just because one person shoots on A, that doesnt mean that they're 100% going there. Leave one guy until you get more convincing info, as an anchor.

    3. Different agents have different abilities. If you pick Phoenix, Jett, Reyna or any other agent that has abilities centered around him- or herself, youre expected to go in first. This is especially true of Jett and Phoenix, who has quick smokes and popflashes respectively.

    4. Look at your teams economy as a whole. If you can buy yourself a rifle and full armor that's cool, but it's not cool if youre the only one. Never is it better for one to be decked out whilst the others are barely scraping by. Save one round.

    5. Youre never gonna rank up with eliminations only, so might as well try to win rounds. Dont go off on your own just so you can get your single kill whilst the rest of your team is dying on the other side of the map. If youre gonna go A whilst 4 others are going B, have some purpose to it.

    6. Sage cant heal immediatly all the time

    7. If your teammate is shifting in front of you, that probably means that you should shift too. If you glance up in the left corner of your screen youre gonna see a giant circle around you. That's the area where your enemy can hear your movement. Take that into consideration.

    8. On the topic of that thing in the top left. It's really useful. Your teammates positions are there, as well as where they're looking. Consider where you and your teammates are looking, because nothing is better than having all angles covered, rather than two people watching a single gap.

    9. I cant reiterate this enough: No backseat gaming. If youre dead and spectating someone, dont tell them where to move or what to do. People need to play a situation out in their own way so they can develop as players. This also means that if youre dead, you shut up. Use text chat if you have anything useful to say. Because your teammates are always better off listening for footsteps, reloads, jumps, defuses, plants and rappelling rather than hearing you say you hit Sova for 40.

Edit: Use text chat in 1vX's

People say that having fun is the most important part, but when youre in the competitive queue, youre there to win as well. So dont come with that play-for-fun bullshit when it's affecting people's ELO. Play for your team and not for yourself
