    Valorant 2.06 Bug Megathread

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 10:34 AM PDT

    Greetings Agents!

New patch, new Bug mega. To avoid bugs report cluttering the subreddit and/or going unnoticed we will get a single Megathread which will be posted today and after every patch so that you guys can report the various issues in one place. This allows Riot to easily keep track of the bugs by providing a central hub and also allows other users to confirm that they might have encountered.

Prerequisites to be noted before reporting a bug

    1. A bug will ideally be accompanied with a screenshot or a video. This provides credibility to your report.
    2. Steps to recreate the bugs should be submitted if possible. This helps Rioters recreate the bug and helps them find the cause behind it.

Format when reporting a bug: When reporting a bug, please provide as much information as you can about your computer.

Region: The region you're playing in when you encountered the bug

Type of Bug: Client Bug, In Game Bug, etc.

Description: Describe what was the bug that occurred.

Video / Screenshot: Insert screenshot (F12 in game) or Video of the bug occurring.

Steps to reproduce: Provide the steps necessary if someone else had to reproduce the bug.

Expected result: What should have been the result when you follow the steps mentioned above.

Observed result: What was the result you obtained when you followed the steps mentioned above?

Reproduction rate: If you try to recreate the bug how successful are you in causing it to occur? (1/10 : Occurs once every 10 tries, 5/10 : Occurs 5 times out of 10, 10/10 : Happens every single time)

System specs: Processor, Video card, Ram, HDD/SSD, everything you can provide, even drivers.

    Example Bug:

    Region: EU

    Type of Bug: Matchmaking

    Description: Matchmaking doesn't work properly

    • Insert Video / Screenshot of the incident

Reproduction rate: 10/10 (happened 10 out of 10 times)

Steps to reproduce: Try to launch a game

    Expected result: Match starting

Observed result: Getting stuck in infinite queue

System Specs: Intel i5 Processor, Windows 7, Nvidia Graphics card (insert model number) etc.

If you don't know how to format comments on Reddit click here

    - **Region:** - **Type of Bug:** - **Description:** - **Video / Screenshot:** - **Steps to reproduce:** - **Expected result:** - **Observed result:** - **Reproduction rate:** - **System specs:**

Copy paste the above code and fill in your details.

From this Megathread the list of bugs will not be summarized and put up in the main body of the thread, however note that many Rioters are going through every single comment so don't worry if you post the 1500th or 3000th comment, every reply will be read over the next few days.

Give Phoenix a line of him saying "Bruh"

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 05:36 AM PDT

I don't know there is something funny about Phoenix saying "Bruh" after his team loses a round and I can't stop thinking about it. (I don't know if the discussion flair is the right thing for me to put but this is the closes so.)

HRTF (Head Related Transfer Function) Demo - VALORANT

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 06:04 AM PDT

To people who instalock duelists then play like a sentinel then leave mid game, why?

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 04:47 AM PDT

Instalocking duelist is perfectly fine as long as you're actually doing your job, but majority of the duelist mains I meet are pussies who hide behind their team and force their sage who they screamed in vc to pick to entry frag for them so they can get a kill for their valorant montage, then proceed to scream at the sage for dying, then leave the match. I need to know what these people's thought processes are because I just can't understand it

Edit: there was a guy here in the comments who said they got to radiant by playing "slow duelist" then when I asked for proof he deleted his comment lmaoooo

Why the Guardian is a hidden gem

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 05:54 AM PDT

The guardian is a sleeper weapon. Before I explain why, here is some background information:

    • I have not played CS before, just some TF2 and overwatch; I am by no means a professional player and I'm just sharing my experiences with it.

    • I don't use any form of aimlabs/kovaaks, just one or two deathmatches before comp

    • I placed silver 2 last season, climbing up to immortal using only the guardian this season

    • I use a DPI of 2000 and a sensitivity of 0.226 (EDPI of 452)

    1. Crosshair placement. Crosshair placement and how tight you hold an angle is something that everyone can improve upon and using the guardian ensures you are always improving it since you can't spray or burst. I found that my crosshair placement improved drastically from using the guardian.

    2. Pacing shots. Firing before the crosshair reaches the target is something that is very common, especially in lower elos. This is something you can't do with the guardian, so it will force you to pace your shots. I found this really helped my consistency. Not having the ability to spray also lets you improve timing the rhythm of enemy peeks.

    3. Long range superiority. The guardian's ADS is very good for holding longer angles and will give you the edge against a vandal or phantom. Although fights against the operator aren't in your favour, you have the ability to get multiple kills which can turn many rounds in your favour.

    4. Slower firerate. Yes, I think this is actually an advantage. When you try to tap fire using the vandal, sometimes you will end up shooting 2 bullets. This will delay the recoil reset and make it harder to make some follow up shots.

    5. Less spread Edit: Better first shot accuracy. The guardian has very littlespread better first shot accuracy, making it more consistent over long range than the phantom or vandal.

    6. High penetration. Situational, but very useful when you need it.

    7. Eco advantage. You will save 500 credits every time you buy this instead of a vandal/phantom. This stacks up over a game and really lets you buy yourself/teammates more which will give you a huge eco advantage.

Once you get used to it, you can also start buying your "full buy loadout" after a round 1 win, giving you a higher tier loadout and a better bonus round weapon.

Reasons 1 and 2 alone will help improve your mechanical skills, the rest will help you win more fights and rounds.

The guardian isn't without drawbacks though, and the most obvious one is the lack of its ability to spray. This is a downside but it isn't a gamebreaker, especially when you consider all the upsides of using it.

This is a look into some guardian-only gameplay; note how much I take advantage of the 1.5x ADS.

To conclude, the guardian is an excellent buy that should be considered over the usual vandal/phantom, especially at lower elos where there is room for personal improvement.

    April fools idea

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 12:12 AM PDT

Let's just give everyone reaver vandal. Many people I know don't like it and personally I absolutely hate that skin collection. If the first thing I saw after I launched the game was that I got a free reaver vandal, I'd be so mad lol. (Maybe I shouldn't have suggested it at all)

The Report system needs an overhaul if Riot actually wants more women to play

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 05:57 AM PDT

The report system doesn't make ANYONE feel safer and here's why

    1. It's only good for English speakers. We speak a South-east asian language, and a lot of it is contextual so modern slang just doesn't go through the sensors. We know we're getting threatened but the bots sure as hell don't and don't really care
    2. We feel hopeless. We never know our reports are going through and even if we report all we want, it feels like screaming into a void and that riot doesn't care.
    3. Muting DOESN'T WORK. Just mute is stupid because people who are being toxic do it as a PART OF A GREATER PATTERN OF BEHAVIOR. Abusers don't just stop at ONE instance and neither do toxic people and misogynists. When you mute a person on your team it doesn't stop them from being a bigot the next game or continuing to deliberately grief you by spamming your chat or sending mollies your way constantly.
    4. No one cares about the punishments because they can get on an alt or a smurf anyways. The punishments don't work because people are more than willing to work around them and ruin someone else's game. Ofc we all know of toxic smurfs and literal misogynists who get on alternate accounts just to grief the games of women. This level of misogyny and harassment should be IP bannable imho
    5. Riot doesn't really care about reports or harassment. These are strong words but it comes from a place of experience. I sent in a ticket that outlined and translated all of the r*pe threats and harassment that our teammate had to endure just because he sounded like a girl and wasn't playing well. It was 14 images long and still riot decided to dump the work load on a bot and callously point out that the report function exists EVEN IF IT DOES NOTHING. How do we even know these people get punished and for how long are they punished for?

Simply put riot doesn't seem to care about the women in this game unless they're gaining traction or have clout. They literally expect more women to play but let guys literally harass and threaten women without punishment.

Hopefully things look up because honestly, women don't deserve to be harassed for literally existing.

Source: My experience with riot support and a whole lot of toxicity.

    Unbalanced Matchmaking.

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 09:34 AM PDT

    Unbalanced Matchmaking.

i had 480 RR at radiant, and i matched up against plats and golds. and a smurf/cheater.

edit: he probably wasn't cheating, and just had radiant/immortal elo from last episode.

and for those asking for match history/act rank, here : https://imgur.com/a/7cRxTQ3

ALL PREVIOUS GAMES were either immortal/radiant.

Even though I had a bad game before that, I still don't think it was the reason for the game to be matched this way.

And if it is, I don't think one bad game should allow you to be matched with players 1000+ rank rating below you.

No comms in competitive is quite frankly super annoying.

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 09:38 AM PDT

I have been playing VALORANT a whole lot more lately since I am still stuck in quarantine, and after playing more than 100 competitive games this season (you can check for proof here), the thing that annoys me the most is when half of your team has no comms. Though I understand sometimes, they might be comm banned or they just don't want to talk and deal with toxic people, but these people turn off the ability to hear our callouts which is detrimental to gameplay as well as setting up a plan. I'm not sure about Riot making it so that comm banned players can't queue for competitive, but my opinion is that they should create queue pools, where people who have turned off comms and the ability to hear others are queued with others with similar settings, and then people who have comms turned on can be queued into their own pool of players. Thoughts?

Edit: User asked me to list server and region, I live in the U.S. and play in Illinois.

Those of you who tell your teammates they suck after they make a mistake or bad play. Why?

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 09:08 AM PDT

I know the majority of the playerbase are kids who haven't yet developed or understand empathy - but from a logical perspective trash talking your own team is one of the worst things you can do if you want to win. People will get tilted, spend time trash talking back in chat, and stop wanting to play as a team. So why do it?

    Viper and Yoru buffs

Howdy, How does everyone feel about the new agent buffs? Personally I love the viper buffs as it will make her much more viable to use. I think the yoru buffs are lackluster cause his gatecrash can be heard from a whole different map at this point. Any way I wanted to hear your guys thoughts.

    How to speak Filipino? (valorant)

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 09:21 AM PDT

I live in Hong Kong so naturally I play in Hong Kong servers. However the people in my games are all from Philippines, more often than not they can't understand English or refuse to talk in English at all.

I need help from any lurking Filipino bros out here to help me translate some basic words and sentences (in Filipino) that I can use in game, thanks

    My Sage "Cosplay/look"

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 01:31 PM PDT

    My Sage "Cosplay/look"

    Hello fellow valorant lovers!

Sage has been my main since the beta and a lot of people told me that when I say sage lines that I sound kinda like her so I tried to do a bit of a more casual sage inspired look! I wanted to keep the look pretty simple and without any editing as a more "Sage in real life" look. What do you guys think? What could I improve for my next look? I was thinking of doing a viper cosplay aswel! (this is my first ever cosplay)

I haven't seen much valorant cosplays yet, so show me yours!!! <3 big love

*Serious Question* Why are people full saving on Pistol Round?

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 08:53 AM PDT

I'm genuinely confused as to why people are full saving on pistol rounds. It's happened when I am with people who are solo as well as full groups that are 4 stacked and I am solo queued into their squad (I know this because I ask if they're 4 stacked).

IMO pistol round is possibly the most important round on every half because it almost guarantees you would win the second round off of being able to have better guns. But I've seen people who fully save the first round, then fully buy the second round, which even if they did save the first round, their econ would be worst than against the team that bought the pistol round and won it, then re-bought second round.

Needless to say, we almost always lose both pistol and second round, which if you lose pistol, generally you'd want to save second round so you can full buy on third round against the SMGs or half buys against the enemy team that bought on the second round. Which is easier to win that way you are 1-2 instead of 0-3. Straight up losing 6 rounds each time this happens is so weird to me.

I just don't understand the concept and where it came from. And when I ask the people who do it, they don't respond. You guys/gals got any clue?

Why do people flame supports for being bottom frag?

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 12:58 PM PDT

I main supports because people instalock 2-3 duelist. I figure ok, I'll try to support them the best I can so we can at least have a better chance of winning the match... but towards the end of losing, I get flamed for being bottom frag or not killing as many people as them.

Are supports expected to have high kda's? I figured it was like League and it's understandable not to have a high kda.

    Extending Agent Contracts

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 02:52 AM PDT

I had an idea for those people like me who dont/cant spend money on the game for skins.

Obviously at tier 10 of every agent contract you can get a specialised pistol skin. What if they extended these contracts to 15 tiers and at the end would be a gun skin specialised to that character.

Its just an idea and thought I should share it. I am getting sick of looking at my boring ass gun.

The other way that they could do this would be to have challenges like the xp ones that take longer but unlock a simple design for a gun.

    Just a suggestion

Suggestion for Buddies/Player Cards/Sprays in the Store

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 01:42 PM PDT

Currently, only gun and knife skins are consistently available for purchase in the store, so there's no way to obtain bundle exclusive buddies, player cards, and sprays if you missed them. I think it'd be a welcome addition to expand the shop to have a rotating stock of various buddies/player cards/sprays. Since there's less of them in comparison to gun and knife skins, the offers could refresh every week instead of daily, maybe alongside weekly missions.

    Sausage melee (concept)

    Posted: 29 Mar 2021 07:15 PM PDT

Do you feel like all other knives aren't memey enough? Well imagine a sausage knife. The sausage knife has pullout animations similar to that of cyphers tripwire. The left click swings the sausage side to side but the right click swings it from bottom to top and then you spin it to its default. The right click also has a slap sound effect instead of the regular stab sound. Since all current knives don't have finishers, the sausage knife finisher would hit the enemy player in the air and they would have their hands to their side and legs straight as they are wrapped around a hotdog bun and the tip of a ketchup and mustard bottle squirt sauce upon the enemy, not to mention a holy like glow radiates from the finished enemy. Anyways devs must add this and here's where I got the idea from https://youtu.be/uEKs1TiW1Vo

    Rainbow Act Rank

Little context. No I did not create a smurf account this is my main account. I used to play in silver and gold as I never took the game seriously and I stayed in that rank to help out my friends who are currently in mid gold and high silver. Let me know what you guys think and if you have any questions feel free to ask! I will make an update at the end of the season.
