Stop saying "Kay/O is so broken!"

    Posted: 18 Jun 2021 08:27 AM PDT

Just stop.Ya'll acting like little kids who said "OMG Yoru is too OP" back when Episode 2 released. Kay/O is the literal definition of making the game heavily based on gunplay. If you have your abilities suppressed, you still have a GUN to shoot with! And he is an initiator, so the flashes are much justified like Skye and Breach. If you crybabies played other tactical shooters like CSGO where each player had 2 flashes , you would literally quit the game after 10 minutes. So just dont. Improve your aim and gamesens. Whining can never do any good. Peace out!

The rumored Astra star price changes is NOT a buff, it’s a readjustment / nerf

    Posted: 18 Jun 2021 08:53 AM PDT

I keep seeing people freaking out that astra got buffed considering her power level. But if you do the math, the price decrease for stars isn't actually a buff, but a readjustment/nerf depending on how many stars you buy

Rumored Changes: -Star Price Decreased from 200=>150 -# Free stars decreased from 2=>1

Number of Stars | Old Price | New Price

    1 | Free | Free

    2 | Free | 150

    3 | 200 | 300

    4 | 400 | 450

As you can see, the cost is higher for 1-4 stars. At face value it looked like a buff, but if you account for the rumored decreased number of free stars, the math shows it's a nerf/readjustment, thankfully!

Can we do 7 kills in 1 round ? 5 kills normally 1 when kay/o gets revived from his Ultimate 1 when sage can revive

Also,kay/o can possibly have 3 lives in the round when both kayo and sage has ults

Compendium of suppression interactions with the rest of the agents' abilities

    Posted: 18 Jun 2021 11:49 AM PDT

With the release of this new mechanic, I feel it's fair to write down a list of how it works and interacts with other agents. If any of these points are incorrect, let me know. I got most of these things from Ryan Central's stream.

    There are two suppression effects:

    • ZERO/point: Suppresses enemies for 8 seconds, and it is a single pulse in a 15m radius. Works through walls and tells KAY/O what enemies were suppressed. Sticks to enemies.
    • NULL/cmd: Suppresses enemies for 4 seconds and it is five pulses in a 45m radius. The ultimate itself lasts 12 seconds, so each pulse occurs at these breakpoints {0,3,6,9,12} seconds. Works through walls. Does not pulse while KAY/O is down.

What does it do anyway? If the pulse hits the enemies, it prevents them from using abilities and affects some of them as they are being used (I'll explain below). I don't know all the ability names by heart, so for the sake of clarity, I'll do something better :)

KAY/O, Breach, Brimstone, Omen, Astra, Reyna, Phoenix, and Sage utility is not affected after its cast. Additionally, for the following agents, if the utility is not mentioned, it is not affected.

Cypher and Killjoy utility (except ultimates) is revealed and disabled.

Skye and Sova minions are killed.

Raze and Jett "weapon" ultimates are disabled momentarily; remember that Raze's lasts 10 seconds. Sova's ultimate is disabled as well and likely won't be able to be used at all since it has a short duration (from How to Noodle's video).

    Viper

    • Wall: Shuts it down after two seconds
    • Smoke: Shuts it down after two seconds

    Yoru

    • Teleport: Cannot be activated
    • Footsteps: Cannot be activated

Unknown interaction with Jett's flying passive (in theory it should not work since it's a channeled ability). If anyone knows for sure, please comment!

Cypher (and possibly Killjoy) kinda needs a buff imo

    Posted: 17 Jun 2021 07:05 PM PDT

Maybe this is an unpopular opinion, but as a cypher main myself, I am noticing that there is more and more counter utility being added into the game, specifically in regards to his trips. I get that he is still useful for info, but the sheer amount of utility that can destroy his trips is becoming ridiculous. Now with the addition of Kay-O and it feels that riot is targeting sentinels (for no reason that I can discern), as if the nerfs in ep1 weren't enough. Let me know what you think. (I'm only in plat 3)

    KAY/O is powerful against line-ups.

    Posted: 18 Jun 2021 09:46 AM PDT

In post-plant, if you know where your enemy does their line-ups from, you can (ironically) do a line-up with your E ability (ZERO/POINT) and disable the enemy's molly.

Unrated feels like losing twice in one game

Unrated feels like losing twice in one game

Unrated is a complete joke and its the players fault. I can't even finish a game without a team surrendering, even less practice. If you do this, please, go back to overwatch and spam quickplay/quit until you are on the winning team because the only thing you are doing by quick surrendering is fishing for someone to carry your next game tbh.

Suggestion: Make the Epilogue "Naked Op" player card have a painted statue to better reflect its Greco-Roman inspiration

    Posted: 18 Jun 2021 01:56 AM PDT

After seeing the "Naked Op" player card in the Episode 3 Act 1 Battle Pass, I felt that there was a missed opportunity to have the Epilogue statue be colorfully painted similar to how Greco-Roman statues originally were before years of erosion turned them into the brilliant white marble statues we see today. I decided to hop on photoshop and, using "Augustus of Prima Porta" as a reference, add color to the Epilogue player card.

Riot's cesspool of toxicity within a new player's experience

    Posted: 18 Jun 2021 10:21 AM PDT

Sometimes I play unrated games with my friends that are Diamond/Radiant, sometimes I play games with my silver friends too (I'm plat), and we just play for fun, usually.

Riot's method of banning toxic players is acceptable, until we realise exactly what's happening at the other end of the spectrum.

I'll be honest, I have no idea if this topic has been covered in the past, but in the last 5 or 6 months of playing this game as a CSGO migrant I have found that every unrated game I play, I am greeted with the single most TOXIC players I have ever seen in my entire life. So much so, that I was hellbent to find out if I was just imagining this to be the case or if it was actually correlated. It dawned on me that this "system" of banning players due to toxicity is not working and here is why.

Player gets banned > Player makes new account > Player blasts 10 unrated games while flaming and eventually gets banned again > Player repeats this cycle

SO... what are we left with? We are left with new players who are genuinely trying to learn the ropes of the game: Maps, Gunplay, Agent's abilities etc. and getting flamed to death, literally. While this isn't necessarily the case with every single game, it is definitely noticeable.

Riot's methods of trying to decrease toxicity within their games is certainly endearing, but I think the question ultimately becomes "Are we willing to sacrifice the experience of new players so that the existing ones can enjoy their experience even more?"

New players have to win 10 games in order to proceed in ranked play. Does this mean we should allow players with poor energy and arguably a lot more experience and skill than these newbies, to go in and get 30 kills while flaming in all chat? (which I have seen in about 80% of the unrated games that I have played). Like I said, it doesn't happen every time, but it does happen a lot more often than any ranked game I play.

I am not aware of anyone that can't just make a new account and sign up to play.

I have friends that I have tried to convince that VALORANT is a GREAT game, but, after a few games (sometimes it doesn't even last 1 game) they realise how stressful these toxic players can be. Since unrated is littered with these parasites, it's no surprise to me that these people no longer want to play after this.
