Gameplay Clips Megathread: Share your plays, montages and other videos here! Posted: 08 Mar 2021 02:05 AM PST Welcome! As part of our video trial weeks, we'll be using a central megathread this week for you to share your gameplay clips. This thread will be replaced daily. Share your clip by linking it in a comment! You'll need to upload your clip first. You can do that with a site such as YouTube or Streamable, or you can upload it to Reddit and then copy the resulting video URL. Want to only see videos? Adding ?depth=1 to the end of the URL will only show the top-level comments. Is your video a clip of an eSports event or does it have educational content? If yes, you may also post the video directly! Top-level comments that do not contain a video will be removed. If you want to discuss the megathread, please give us feedback here instead. Hot Take: I think VALORANT should release agents at a slower rate. Posted: 08 Mar 2021 08:44 AM PST I actually don't know how much of a hot take this is, but I personally think it is. I'm not going to get into specifics or propose any plans of my own because I don't know the inner workings of the VALORANT team, but I will report on a few rumblings I've heard from my friends and around the internet. Don't get me wrong, I love getting new agents all the time, but I would like to voice a few concerns. The majority of the time when I try to get my cs-playing friends to play VALORANT, the main issue they cite is how confusing the game is for beginners, as there are abilities flying everywhere and flashes left and right. Even for my friends who play VALORANT but don't follow it as closely as most of us probably do, they often complain about having to come back to the game to always find a new agent mixing up the gameplay. Now don't get me wrong, for someone who plays very often, the addition of new agents every 2 months is great and it always keeps the game fresh. However, I would appreciate if instead of releasing a new agent every 2 months, we could get one every 3-4 months, with maybe 3 maps a year instead of 2 because quite honestly I think we need more of them at this point. I understand that Riot has different teams for each of these parts of the game, meaning that affecting one team wouldn't impact the other, but regardless of this I think having a little more time to let new agents marinate and for players to really get to know them would both be a benefit for casual and hyper-competitive players (in terms of fully exploring new agents and how they fit in the meta). Once again, I understand how much the current act system and design team structure doesn't really make this an easy fix. But especially as the game becomes older, I think slowing down the number of agents added would both help the top levels of play and reduce the barrier of entry for new players. The main thing I really want right now is to see the scene grow and I think this would go a long way in helping. [link] [comments]
Why is the information on tournaments so bad? Posted: 08 Mar 2021 02:17 AM PST Seriously, why is it so difficult to understand what's going on in these tournaments? It's hard to find a simple schedule, who's playing who, where certain teams stand... For a game built for tournaments, I have to say, this is pretty bad. What's challengers vs masters? What was first strike for? Honestly, I'm losing interest in watching the pro scene over lack of a simple webpage displaying very basic information. I had to go to competitive valorant sub reddit to find a similar comment complaining about the samething, only to find vlr.gg which even then only displays times and not wtf is going on... Am I the only one? [link] [comments]

I think we should have more detailed ability descriptions ingame. Posted: 08 Mar 2021 06:18 AM PST I've always been the kind of guy that likes to know every tiny bit of detail about the characters i play in a game, especially when it comes to competitive ones like Valorant or League. Valorant has an amazing description/stats for the weapons in the buy menu like fire rate, penetration, reload speed and so on, but there is nothing about the agent's abilities... They just have a vague description of what it does when you press F1, but no damage values, no duration, HP, nothing. Just as an example; I've been trying to find how long every flash in the game lasts to compare them but everywhere i look there is a different info. Why not have all the info shown in game? Same goes for how long smokes last. The only mention we get is in patch notes, but unless something got changed, we won't know the values of an ability for sure unless we test every single one of them individually. Not even Valorant Wiki has those values. So, please, if any Rioter reads this, consider adding more detailed descriptions to the abilities for players like me, who like to know the details or for regular players, so they can have a laugh when they check that Raze's Paint Shell does 275hp worth of chip damage. Thanks anyway! [link] [comments]
Posted: 08 Mar 2021 03:33 AM PST I don't know why or where this trend started. I've played counter-strike from before 1.6 when the best way to access the beta was on a demo disk provided by a gaming magazine. I have thousands of hours on Dota 2 also. I've never seen anything like the amount of cry babies that Valorant produces. Before I could play ranked and when learning a new hero, I will play some unranked. Lucky if I can finish 1 out of 5 games without someone leaving on either side. Calls to surrender after 4 rounds of "UNRANKED" Players queuing for a game and somehow forgetting that they have something else to do by round 2. When the hell did everyone get so fragile? lol! You won't get any better if you cannot even finish an unranked game ffs. [link] [comments]
I think valorant should have a smaller unrated mode. Posted: 07 Mar 2021 09:38 AM PST I do enjoy the other modes like escalation and spike rush, and what they bring to the table, i feel as though a smaller unrated would be something that id want. There are times where i want to play unrated but i just dont feel like spending half an hour to an hour in a full game. I think it would be a great addition if Riot added a (insert name of mode here) mode where it follows the same rules as unrated, but swaps at 6 rounds instead of 12. That way people who want to play an unrated but dont have the time or the mood to go the full 12+ rounds can enjoy the unrated style of gameplay. What are peoples thoughts on this? EDIT: Holy crap i didnt expect this to blow up. Thank you, for not only the awards but the nice discussion! Talking in the comments below ive come to see the flaw, benefits, and alternatives to this idea, which is very interesting! Im glad to be in this community. [link] [comments]
Why doesn't Jett's ult reset in The Range anymore? Posted: 08 Mar 2021 08:58 AM PST Why doesn't Jett's ultimate reset in The Range anymore? Back 2 acts or 2 major patches ago, your Jett's knives used to be able to reset after killing a bot with either right click or your left click. Did they remove that feature? Why won't it work suddenly. Why did they remove it? It really helped me practice my knife right clicks. Wish they'd bring it back. [link] [comments]

Valorant's weekly viewership on twitch is now the highest since the game launched in June Posted: 08 Mar 2021 02:24 AM PST I've seen a lot of threads in other game's subs (Mainly CS:GO) claiming that Valorant is a "ded game" and citing the game's declining twitch number's from Sullygnome. They would also follow this up by saying that Riot is not releasing player numbers because they want to "hide that their game is dying" - yes that is a legit quote. Well guess what, Valorant has now reached the highest weekly viewership on twitch since the game launched in June. It's surpassed other popular games like Warzone and has nearly 50% more average viewership than CS:GO. Yet, now they don't even talk about the game's viewership. Sources: [link] [comments]
Brimstone is Killjoy's guardian? Posted: 08 Mar 2021 11:11 AM PST So I was looking at the wiki page for Killjoy and at the bottom in her trivia section, it says that Brimstone is her guardian. When I went to Brimstone's page, it also says this as well, but I'm wondering where this information came from? Did we get this from voice lines? I'm very interested in the little amount of lore of characters we have and I'm curious because this is the first time I've seen this! [link] [comments]

Even if you mean well, I think giving unsolicited advice/tips to your teammates is counterproductive Posted: 08 Mar 2021 06:56 AM PST This obviously is situational, but time and time again I've noticed that serious fights and toxicity start a lot with one player giving unsolicited advice to another (i.e telling them to aim higher in the middle of a clutch is what I notice most) and that player getting offended over it. Honestly it makes sense, especially if you're frustrated, someone giving unwanted advice gives off a vibe that they think they're better than you even if that wasn't the intention. After seeing so many fights break out cause of this I honestly think it'd be more productive to just let the person play, especially if the thing they struggle with is something like aim or game sense, which takes practice to get the hang of. Of course if it's something that takes a second to fix, like letting your teammate know you can right click a Classic to let out 3 simultaneously firing bullets, that's different, but still I think people should just back off tbh [link] [comments]
New to val and PC gaming as a whole Posted: 08 Mar 2021 09:00 AM PST And oh my god this is the most fun I've had playing so shit. Expected toxic Xbox like lobbies but no both 2 matches I played got tips and motivation. Now that's outta the way. Any good agents and gun to start with. The black guy was easy but I kept binding myself. And speed windy girl I didn't find easy [link] [comments]

Astra Being stuck in Astra form. Posted: 08 Mar 2021 12:32 PM PST Dear Riot Devs, I really enjoy the new character "Astra". I have decided to main her. The thing that really annoys me is the bug that has happened to me twice now. Whenever i go into my Astral form, i get bugged out and cant move or do anything anymore for the entire round. I have lost rounds and games because of it and it really needs a fix. Thanks, Colourry [link] [comments] |
