I even did one really bad play and I heard my team make that angry sigh. It was obvious he was mad but he did that sigh and said "good try man." People like that make my day. They get frustrated but they know people have bad games, are new, or just bad. People that can get mad but understand everyone is not the same and then tell them nt are really good people. Sorry to you guys that I made you sigh but thank you for understanding. I will continue to try my best and maybe make you go "DAMN DUDE, YOU RADIANT?" lol love you guys. Have a great night! Took a couple months off, but recently came back. I absolutely love the game. However as all of you know, the community can be overly toxic. Well, my sister has been getting more into pc gaming and I wanted to show her valorant. Free to play, and she likes tactical games. She has a pretty steady aim too, so I thought I'd show her how to play. After doing a private match where I kind of showed her the ropes, I knew having her muted in match would be best. Guys in the game can be stupid sexist. Well having her muted in an UNRATED match didn't matter. She was the last one alive, and got absolutely flamed by two instalock duelists who were behind me in KD as omen. They had absolutely no leg to stand on to flame someone else. "What is this dumb c**t doing" I told her to mute the comms. I'll let her know what she needs to be doing, but unfortunately the damage was done. My sister isn't overly sensitive. But she was trying to learn how everything works. And being told you're bad, when you know you're bad and just trying to learn, is absolutely horseshit and can immediately change your whole attitude towards learning. She left the match. | Posted: 18 Mar 2021 02:01 AM PDT Currently sitting in diamond 2, and every once in a while after a few bad rounds one person will get extremely toxic and say something negative- from the usual "stop being so fucking bad" to spamming surrender votes when you're down 2 rounds, to the "why do you peek idiot" and the slurs, these teammates just aren't worth putting up a fight with. Knowing how important comms are in this game, you might be tempted to say, "well, it's just a little toxic but I need the calls" but the truth is, one players' comms isn't going to make that big of a difference. Constant negativity and toxicity can affect the way that you play and someone yelling at every play you make doesn't just make you upset- it affects your confidence even if you don't realise it and you'll either end up tilted or afraid of taking fights or messing up. The one strike rule can make your games so much more bearable- the next time you have someone being toxic, make a point of muting them and continuing to promote positive comms with your teammates. That one person's comms aren't going to be the game ender for you. You have 3 other people to comm with, and they can always make calls from the missing player's perspective. 4 positive, team-oriented players will always beat 5 miserable ones. Similarly, don't beat yourself up too much over small mistakes and don't let other players do the same to you either. Play your game with your team to the best of your ability! | Posted: 18 Mar 2021 10:59 AM PDT I havent been able to launch Valorant since the newest patch because of a bug that seems to be affecting anti-virus software. The bug threads are filled with people having similar issues launching the game, and it feels like there hasnt been any significant updates from riot during this time. Its really frustrating not being able to access the game at all, especially when this was the first battlepass i bought in a while, and i was looking forward to grinding out some of the items. | A flaming teammate was the reason i got into Valorant Posted: 18 Mar 2021 07:34 AM PDT I started playing valorant in the 2nd day of closed beta, I didn't know anything about the game but I got the drop because I thought the game was cool, I jumped into a game without even knowing the objective of the game or how to play and died every round. unfortunately, a guy on my team got on the voice chat and started yelling at me and flaming me for everything I did. we lost the game and I genuinely thought that all valorant games are like this because this was my first ever game. | Different HUD for /ff and /remake command. Posted: 18 Mar 2021 10:22 AM PDT I had few games where some players dc'd right after the agent selection during buy-phase. First time I just typed command to remake the game after the first round (because obviously we had a leaver), but when the voting banner showed up people instantly voted 'NO' for a remake. I am pretty sure they thought it was a surrender voting and didn't bother to read the actual description. Basically this banner looks so similar and people were scared to lose SR right after the start (but when you remake the game everything stays the same). Second time I literally asked people in chat to pay attention and remake the game for the same reason. And again the same reaction: instant vote 'NO' and eventual lose after few rounds. Edit: when I asked to pay attention there is a high probability that at least one player wasn't in a text chat or vc.. So maybe Devs can change HUD or how do you call this thing to something else. Having multiple maps helps keep the game from getting stale and boring. So I love that we have so many and can't wait till we get more. Nothing would be more boring if we only had 1 or 2 maps. When viper goes in to her ultimate, she has goggles protecting her eyes, but her vision inside the ultimate isn't any better than an enemies or a teammates.
